This is so helpful. I just found out that one of my great grandparents and his wife were born in Salerno Province (a little town not far away called Altavilla Silenta and now I want to focus on going there. I never knew this when I visited Italy and Sorrento etc. years ago. My great uncle went back to Italy when I was a kid and lived and is buried in Torre del Greco, not far from Salerno. I'm feeling so excited of possibly moving there for at least a while as I am close to having the documents for dual citizenship...I have used lawyers and they have found things that seemed impossible to locate. I'm 72 and I figure I may try to live before I die! I"m originally from New Jersey and I live in the Southwest now, so I know afternoon heat and my body is adapted to it....70 seems chilly! In the mid-80's I lived and worked in London...after traveling a lot alone,..so, why can't I do it now? There's a NutraSi there, so I"m good!
Ciao bravissima e bellissima Claire! I am from Salerno but living in UK since 2005. Your videos are so lovely and interesting, a true reflection of life in Salerno and in Italy (particularly in the south). Hopefully I'll be there, in my Salerno next week (with a bit of luck)! Keep up the great content!
Nice one! As an Italian, it is always nice to see the appreciation for places we take as "given" through the eyes of someone coming from another Country. I won't use the word "stranger": people like you who love Italy so much should be worth receiving the honorary citizenship. Ben fatto e vai avanti così!
What a beautiful video, we will be visiting in September and staying in Salerno for a few days. We will be visiting the Amalfi coast and hope to visit Agropoli, as well. Loved your video on Vietri, lovely town.
Bellisima! The real Italy is what I love to see; it is why I will move to Italy in the coming years. The small streets, the alleyways, the markets...and the SEA! Thank you for this treat. I look forward to seeing more of Salerno through your vlogs.
So good to see Salerno, really missing that we haven't been able to get to stay there for the past 2 years. Thank you for the tour and the memories it has for us.
I'm so glad I discovered your RUclips page and video series on Salerno! I was curious what neighborhood you lived in while you lived in Salerno, or what neighborhoods you would recommend living in that are quaint with coffee shops and restaurants nearby? I just got my dual Italian citizenship and am looking to do some research on neighborhoods to potentially live in - any tips you have would be greatly appreciated!
Amazing! Well I lived in Irno and Carmine neighborhoods which have shops and restaurants close by and are easy walking distance to the train station and main city centre as well as the sea!
What a great video. I have always wondered what Salerno is like. It really is authentic I should imagine it really is lovely at night and buzzing. It reminds me of Naples a place very close to my heart i so look forward to visiting again. I look forward to more of these videos a real insight to the different area's is brilliant. Thank you
Beautiful this is where my Nonna was born. I love seeing you walk through her city. Thanks for sharing this. I wonder how much stuff is around still from the Roman times.
Those a cicadas you can hear in the park. Beautiful insects! I can’t believe you have mosquitoes in the city. I’m trying to decide if I should stay in Salerno or Naples for a few days. Tough decision!
Ah thank you! Yes - it depends on what you want to do as there is a lot to see and do in Naples as well. It’s only a 30 min train journey between Naples and Salerno so you could combine the two!
Looks beautiful!! Our plan is to retire in Salerno in about 6 years. Do you think we can get a nice rental with sea view for under $2,500. What area is best?
What a lovely idea! Yes - I think it is possible but I will say that property prices are generally a little higher in this city. Try Pastena and Torrione for the sea views
Are there nice little shops to meander in and out of in Salerno? Also, is it safe and clean? Naples is a bit intense and always wondered if Salerno was just a small Naples.
I enjoyed your first vlog around Salerno! 👏Do you have many mosquitoes (zanzare) do deal with in Salerno? If so, how do you cope? When I used to come to Italy during the summer, in Parma, I would get eaten alive and the bites would really swell up!! 😔❤️
I was in Salerno during the week you posted this. Beautiful city but they really gotta do something about all the trash, especially along the coast in the non beach areas and the water runoff by Gran Hotel
@@MsBritaly I choose to go there because I’m used to staying with my family in abruzzo when I go to Italy and wanted to stay in a city by the beach that was less touristy. Will definitely go back next year and just stay there the shoe month instead of moving around like I did
Bellissimo video interessante e girato molto bene. Complimenti!
Beautiful video ... My father is actually buried in the cemetery there His home town Lived 30 years in Montreal Canada His wish was to be brought back home
Wow so beautiful! 😍is there a lot of racist. There is here in Pennsylvania. 😢 and Puerto Rico people are so grumpy I guess from the heat. 😢 whats the weather there?💗
The weather here is predominantly good - I come from London - it’s not difficult! Hot summers, you can get quite chilly winters here - you tend to climatise! In terms of racism, it’s a sad truth but it exists everywhere, wherever you may be in the world. The smaller the town - the smaller the mind. Generally speaking though here in the south the Italians are very warm and welcoming

I miss my hometown
It has been my lifelong dream to go to Salerno, Italy as it is my maiden name. Finally headed there in October. We are binge watching your videos!

Salerno is wonderfull
So good to see Salerno, really missing that we haven't been able to get to stay there for the past 2 years. Thank you for the tour and the memories it has for us.
You’re welcome - I hope you can visit again soon!
I enjoyed strolling with you through the hidden parts of Salerno. Looking forward to other tours of this beautiful city and surrounding areas.
Thank you!
Love those little alleyways where you come across spme hidden gems.
Aren’t they beautiful!
Hey! You look so in harmony with the place, both beautiful! Finally we can see you out and about :-) Take us to a pasticceria next time
Thank you! Yes - I have something planned very soon......stay tuned!
Those streets with the trees in bloom look so lovely.
Enjoy these type of 'everyday vlogs', so hope there will be more.
Thank you - yes there will be! Stay tuned!

Thank you so much - it is lovely here at night - not quite as buzzy as Naples - but lovely nonetheless. I’ll be doing more videos for sure!
Beautiful this is where my Nonna was born. I love seeing you walk through her city. Thanks for sharing this. I wonder how much stuff is around still from the Roman times.
Ah thank you - how lovely!
Sarebbe decisamente interessante un vlog sui posti giusti per mangiare la vera cucina campana, grazie!
Buon idea - grazie!

Salerno is amazing
It really is - a hidden gem!
Nice place I really love it
Yes it’s lovely here!
Are there nice little shops to meander in and out of in Salerno? Also, is it safe and clean? Naples is a bit intense and always wondered if Salerno was just a small Naples.
It’s a lovely little city - lots of independent shops to explore and it is a lot less intense compared to Naples!
I enjoyed your first vlog around Salerno! 👏Do you have many mosquitoes (zanzare) do deal with in Salerno? If so, how do you cope? When I used to come to Italy during the summer, in Parma, I would get eaten alive and the bites would really swell up!! 😔❤️
Oh we have lots here - they love me! Lots of mosquito repellent is the key!
Parma, my city!
Wow fantastic superb 💫🌟💥
Thank you!

It’s not perfect agreed but compared to some other parts of Italy that I’ve been to - it’s fairly clean
@@MsBritaly I choose to go there because I’m used to staying with my family in abruzzo when I go to Italy and wanted to stay in a city by the beach that was less touristy. Will definitely go back next year and just stay there the shoe month instead of moving around like I did
Absolutely - there’s lots to see and do!
Unfortunately this is a problem in South.

Farai anche un video sulla costiera Amalfitana?
Si certo!
Em breve estarei aí na tua cidade
Godetevi la vostra visita!
...Another water fountain. 😄
Ahhaa siiiii
Come si chiama il castello?
Castello Arechi

Ciao😊

В парке не музыка должна а пение птиц,
Ah - yes, the birds are a wonderful background accompaniment but unfortunately not loud enough to provide enough of an ambience - hence the music
Is it a busy area. Where u want to hide from so much people? 🤣🤣🤣
Salerno can get busy yes. But it’s not a big city like Naples, for example, which of course is a lot busier!
You're so bubbly, sweet, vivacious and beautiful. Just the kind of a girl that want to marry
