When I was younger and first started playing ice age the regular animals use to scare me especially the yeti. And I always had this feeling there were more horrifing creatures that were easter eggs. This mod perfectly brings back that childhood fear.
6 year old me was terrified of anything a non-skilled player couldn’t beat, like the rex 😂 However, is it just me or does carnivores give an eerie vibe? Most of the map is nothingness and I always expected some sort of monster to come out of nowhere.
This is a fantastic addition to ice age,not only because of the sense of dread and horror that a wendigo could be stalking you and jump from that bush at any moment, but because ice age leaves much to be desired from world building, lore and easter eggs because it was so rushed. @@SaurianTargetYeah, sort of hydrid creature, created biologically by the old extinct civilization by combining two or more animals (likely including one humanoid being that could ve DNA of the extinct civilization species), and its unusual traits like resilience, high metabolism, lack of eyes and despite that able to walk whithout problems could be explained by elements either surnatural or something still natural but unknown by sciences and used to overcome the creature potential problems. What a spooky intro 👻 And it is so nice to show The Dry Nodus Lake Wendigo on Halloween! I enjoyed the video. Thanks for showing the Wendigo, Saurian. Happy Halloween 🎃
God I LOVE cryptids in the Carnivores fandom. The concept just works so well. This could also be a very fun Halloween hunt for someone in the future (if they can be installed in different maps). Have a cryptid hunt with no radar on the map and no animal calls. Walking around horror movie style, wondering what you’ll stumble upon. See if you can bag one of each before getting killed.
The scary part about this one is that there are three different places a Wendigo can spawn independently of the others, so in theory, you could have three Wendigos spawn on the map and not know it until it’s too late 👀
Fun Fact: According to the lore, all monsters in the Carnivores series are aliens, the planet is NOT Earth, it is an Earth like planet, also, the games take place after the year 2190 A.D.
Seeing Mythical Creatures like the Wendigo, Ghoul, and Yeti are fantastic, and perfectly encapsulate the secret horror of Carnivores' quiet ambience, or the environments making you feel like you're not alone. If any other beasts are modded (like a Chupacabra or River Beast at Iceberg Tier 7), I'd love to see it. The Chupacabra could be similar to the Wendigo, but more Wolf-like, and the River Beast could be Monkele Mbebe, an Ice Age Brachiosaurus that aggressively fights any animal close to it's water
Excellent work as always. This Wendigo mod is really cool (no pun intended) and it fits into Carnivores Ice Age extremely well. I love its haunting calls, something you don't want to hear while walking in the woods. The death animation where it rips the hunter's heart out is so brutal but fits this bone chilling beast well. I believe there was a Mount Ravan Skinwalker on the iceberg, that would be great to see next. Aside from that, I think a cryptid based on a Hellhound or a Hodag. Maybe a Hellhound could patrol the Ring of Infernus, while the Hodag lives in Ravaren's Bridge.
there was also a “Nibelungen Paradise Rake” if i remember correctly also they should add more cryptids such as the Hidebehind, Slide-Rock Bolter, Kasai Rex(mutant t-rex), Piasa Bird, or even the Frogman cryptid
@@yeetgames1846 Oh yeah I remember hearing about that one. Maybe it could be repurposed for another map since Nibelungen Paradise isn't in the PC game. I don't think it's in any mods either as far as I know.
The Wendigo was always one of my favorite cryptids due to the fact that it's one of the few that can actually be very possible to exist. Not the beast itself (I hope not) but more so the mindset of the Wendigo; a cannibalistic, monstrous being roaming the forest to find it's next meal. So creepy, yet awesome and seeing it in the world of Carnivores is very interested and fitting. Now the Yeti doesn't feel out of place or alone, lol. 😂 Anyway, hope you all have a very wonderful Halloween night and stay safe out there. 🎃
iirc the folklore accurate representation of the Wendigo is essentially a person who, most often during the winter when food is scarce, is driven to eat another human, and often becomes possessed in a sense, being unable to feel full and must eat constantly. I could totally see this being inspired by the hardships of winter and the encouragement to prevent anyone from having to go hungry during rough times
@@Spooqi You are correct with that description. I think that is the correct inspiration as well, if not... it's truly a massive coincidence that they align very well.
Would be very cool to see an Ice Age mod for the Monster of Partridge Creek, a large cryptic dinosaur from Yukon that resembles an old school Ceratosaurus that lurks in the forested mountains and hunt mooses.
I think this creature needs to be split into a pair of design's, one more speculative evolution inspired with more grounded abilitys like mimicing deer calls and the like and the other a more paranormal with ghost sounds and the ability to teleport and the like.
Phenomenal stuff! I dig it very much! One idea I've never seen explored is the idea of a Theropod perhaps even more aggressive than the Tyrannosaurus, small in number but unrivaled in rage and ferocity, proving to be the animal which is actually responsible for the destruction of the wall which once protected Fort Chiskin. As a kid pondering this idea over twenty years ago, I had an image of a Giga Bowser-esque Theropod with unmatched ferocity and thirst for destruction. Silly image, I know, but that was the best my ten-year-old self could come up with.
TBH, I'm tired of the "badder than the T. rex" trope in dinosaur fiction myself. But, since the topic is supernatural horror in Carnivores, maybe a supernaturally enhanced super-T. rex would be cool?

it's so cathartic to see this old dinosaur hunting game from when i was like 9 still having some life in it over two decades later, and a lot of them are super well done on such a limited engine As I recall from my time playing a physical copy of Carnivores II on real hardware back then, I recall having some weird issue where after having found the environmental structures (the bunker in the Hills, the fort and its houses in Ciskin, etc) permanently disappeared at some point after seeing them all. Could never get them to come back even after a reinstall. I have a lot of weird memories from this game. Do most mods also intentionally disable DEBUG mode? We used to use that a lot to explore the maps without dying. It'd make sense to, I've just never seen some of the stuff I remember being mentioned anywhere, but the digital versions I've tried don't seem to include it either. Weird questions, I know.
I entirely see several cryptids mods, each covering news recently discovered sectors of either the Jurassic part or Ice Age part of FMM planet, each filled entirely by cryptids from a precised country/continent of the world. For example, there could be a new sector somwhere in the Jurassic area where many African-like cryptids such Mokele-Mbembe, Emela-Ntouka, Kasai rex, Mbielu-Mbielu-Mbielu, Nguna-Monene, two cryptids pterosaurs, the Ngoubou, Emerald Tiger, the giant spider I forget the name, and plenty others could be find and hunted. With somewhere in the Ice Age/Cenozoïc Part, another sector could be entirely North America themed cryptids, with some Central and South American inclusion if it set in an area of the planet at the border of the tropical warmed Mesozoic part and the temperate colder Ice Age one. Would be really nice since that part of Carnivores franchise's aspects/elements with huge, tons and almost infinite potential that was never exploited since the first game's release. But the games universe now work on the active statue and activity of modders and fans support which of course cannot be permanently working on the games all hours of all days of their life to finished and complete what the original developpers didn't finalized or even exploited. Imagine a cryptid-themed mod with maps based on actual areas where cryptids have been spotted in. Like the swamps of Fouke Arkansas, or the house where the Hopkinsville Goblins sighting happened at.
Speaking of odd creatures. I remember when playing Carnivores 2 as a kid, i had a childhood buddy of mine told me of a secret creature you could unlock. He said it was called an Ultrasaurus, and that it was bigger than a T-Rex and had a massive horn on it's nose. I remember trying so hard to unlock it, only to find out it didnt exist (or atleast not that i know of). I really wish i could ask him again about it, but unfortunately he passed away not too long ago. :(
CRRRRREPPY,i think the Ice Age Secret Wendigo(Dry Nodus Lake Wendigo)is the most crepiest animal of Carnivores 3:Ice Age, but that it's cool.A combination of a Megaloceros(Giant deer) and a myteriuos creature
It would be nice to see a Mod consisting of either Cryptid-like animals or Bonus animals from various Carnivores mods like Middles Islands Thunderbird or the Delpheaus Hills Ghoul as well as focusing a bit on the supernatural aspect of Carnivores Occult or Macabre.
tbh, i love the model, but i'd have given it a long wolf-like tail. cryptid which would fit PERFECTLY in a Dinosaur Hunter and Ice Age mod: Mokele Mbembe and the Beast of Partridge Creek (respectively).
It would be pretty cool if someone made a Wendigo that resembles the more original version, that being the one that’s without the deer skull. Maybe this wendigo could reside in the more warmer sections of FMM UV-32?
creatures like the wendigo and the Delpheaus Ghoul is proof that a horror "monster-hunter esque" hunting games where you hunt cryptids will sell! like imagine single player evolve but actually NOT ANNOYING!
I kinda wonder if this FMM Wendigo is a carnivorous relative of the Giant Deer/Megaloceros, possibly an evolutionary holdout from a period the planet's prehistory not well understood by DinoHunt Corp. If you really think about it, there's probably a lot of animals on FMM-UV32 that are related, but for marketing purposes are categorized according to their Earth-counterparts (like, how FMM's Arizonasaurus is probably within the same family as the planet's Spinosaurs, as an example). Heck, I wouldn't be surprised in in-universe scientists lament on that decision by DinoHunt Corp., probably groaning out loud "It's not actually a dinosaur at all, it's an alien irresponsibly labeled as one, etc."
@@SaurianTarget I mean, if I were to do it, I'd call it "Phylogeny [REDACTED]" or "Taxon [EXPUNGED]", with the premise that it's data that DinoHunt Corp. has tried to purge from the general public, out of fear that it could be bad for business if their "Dinosaur Planet" isn't perceived as such to any potential new clients.
Sometime, I ask myself about the possibility that FMM Carnivores planet to be a "Seed(ed) World". A world were Earth's organisms were introduced by an unknown force/entity and evolving in a different direction than their Earth relatives in this new context. As its a popular category of the as popular Speculative Evolution domain online. The dinosaurs and Cenozoïc creatures of the planet could e true dinosaurs and Cenozoïc creatures brought here before their extinctions on Earth, the extinct civilization species being a species of human or hominid that was put here too and became heavily advanced, managing to control partially the entity that brought creatures on the planet and using it to create some hybrids monsters such the Wendigo which become feral once the civilization gone extinct.
Yo, saurian, i bought the ice age mobile version so i could try it out fully, but the game wont register it, they already withdraw the 3 dollars from my account, any way i can make the refund? Cause from what i've seen, the games dead from a employee perspective
Not sure, but you’re not the only person I’ve had reach out about this issue. Maybe try emailing Tatem’s office? Other than that, I’m not sure, I’ve not had contact with them in years
Hello Saurian Target i really like your video, but i have a problem related with Carnivores Far Nort, You see when i select the Sniper Rifle (frostbite) and any other waepon i can't change directly to the Sniper Rifle unless the ammo of any other weapon is debleated. You know any way to bind a key for the Sniper Rifle?
Unfortunately, there’s not a way to do that yet. That version of Far North uses a patch that only allows weapons 1-6 to be bound to the keyboard. However, a newer MEE version just released that should eliminate that problem!
In some cases wendigoes can only be killed by I believe ash for a certain tree so pumping round after round into it could be a main reason since the bullets you’re given aren’t coated in its counter plus in terms of lore the wendigo could be a hunter gone mad starved by the cold desolate area and sees anything as its prey (much like the real wendigo) but still retaining its basic hunting instincts and wants to drive the player mad just as it was driven mad by the cold by using its calls to hasten the process and drive the player insane turning them into a wendigo as well
@@SaurianTarget maybe later on if the developer of the mod added a perk that could be purchased called “ashen bullets” it could have a mortal zone right in the torso area to take it down quicker rather than wasting precious ammunition on a fast moving creature
Hello saurian, I have been a fan for a very long time and I love the videos, they ooze professionalism great skill. I have just recently gotten back into carnivores but I have had struggles downloading and playing it on my computer. A tutorial on how to download carnivores would be greatly appreciated, not just for me but for other people who also do not know.
Hey thank you for the kind words! I do have a video on how to download Carnivores games and mods, have you checked that out yet? It should help with the struggles you’re experiencing.
Here is the story of the vengar fjords Chupacabra, “It was just a normal day in vengar fjords, though my boss didn’t give me a raise. I was tasked in taking out a delphaeus hills ghoul that went to the island, supposedly……. I to the island and sure enough there was the ghoul, but. It looked lanky and skeletal, with long arms, a long tail, a maroon blue or brown color scheme. The creature ran off into the jungle so I followed. I had licenses for Parasaurs, ankylosaurs, allosaurus, and coelophysis plus troodon. When I track it down to the spot, I saw something I would never forget, a mangled parasaurolophus. With broken and crooked limbs, many scars, and on the neck, four holes, all dried of blood. “I…did not….do this” I thought so I checked my calls and sure enough there was five animals plus the ghoul. Then I heard some twigs snap, I had revolver locked and loaded, looking here, there, everywhere looking for where sound was. Then, I saw the creature, it was just staring at me. In the jaws was a troodon that looked the same like the Parasaur. And I got good look at the monsters face, the eyes are large and colored yellow orange, the nose was theropod like and had the nasal hole show. I can tell it was feeding because of the tongue lapping up blood on the neck of the troodon. It then dropped the corpse and dashed toward me, pumped a lot of shots into the creature, about ten, and I killed it at last, well tranquilized it because it was breathing afterwards. I went back to DinoHunt corp and told the whole story. Since DinoHunt corp dealt with this kind of creature, they believed me and now to this day it is called, The Vengar Fjords Chupacabra.”

I certainly like this creature, but I wouldn’t personally call it a Wendigo. In the Algonquin folklore that they originate from, they’re portrayed as humanoids with no antlers or deer features at all. Not to mention how taboo the topic of Wendigo’s is (in most folklore, you aren’t to even say their name). The deer appearance came from Hollywood, misrepresenting folklore, religion, and mythology as always. So out of respect for the Algonquin people, these shouldn’t be referred to as Wendigos I’d say the term “American Ghoul” fits a bit better. And this particular version is one of the best I’ve seen of it.
I don’t know of an official list, the only ones I can think of off the top of my head are the Yeti, Ghoul, and Wendigo, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before more start to appear 👀
PERSONALLY,I LIKE TO THINK THE WENDIGO IS REALLY ONE OF THE ANCIENTS,BUT UNDER A CURSE,BECAUSE HE DID CANIBALISM,IF WE ALREADY KNOW ANCIENTS APARENTLY CAN PUT THEIR SOULS INTO SPECIFIC ZONES,THEN WHY THEY CANT BE CURSED

Imagine a cryptid-themed mod with maps based on actual areas where cryptids have been spotted in. Like the swamps of Fouke Arkansas, or the house where the Hopkinsville Goblins sighting happened at.
Years ago, I came up with a concept for that exact kind of game 😂
Speaking of odd creatures. I remember when playing Carnivores 2 as a kid, i had a childhood buddy of mine told me of a secret creature you could unlock. He said it was called an Ultrasaurus, and that it was bigger than a T-Rex and had a massive horn on it's nose. I remember trying so hard to unlock it, only to find out it didnt exist (or atleast not that i know of). I really wish i could ask him again about it, but unfortunately he passed away not too long ago. :(
There is a possibility your friend could've been talking about the Gojirasaurus from the Carnivores Triassic Mod.
"Too much health" pretty sure that the excess health comes from actual Wendigo folklore in which they are invincible unless burnt.
CRRRRREPPY,i think the Ice Age Secret Wendigo(Dry Nodus Lake Wendigo)is the most crepiest animal of Carnivores 3:Ice Age, but that it's cool.A combination of a Megaloceros(Giant deer) and a myteriuos creature
dayuum, the modders are killing it.
They sure are!
i love how the Fandom universally agrees that supernatural elements are canon to the lore.
We've already had a Yeti, The Delphaeus Hill Ghoul and a Wendigo
How about a Chupacabra in Carnivores
Instead of sucking the blood out of goats, it can do so with Moschops 😅
@@SaurianTarget haha yes
Maybe add a Werewolf!
THIS IS AN AWSOME MOD CONSIDERING I DREW A WENDIGO A FEW DAYS AGO FOR MY ART CHALLENGE
That’s so cool (pun intended)! 😎
i actually dressed up as a wendigo this year coincidentally enough lol
That’s pretty awesome lol
The king of the carnivores
It would be nice to see a Mod consisting of either Cryptid-like animals or Bonus animals from various Carnivores mods like Middles Islands Thunderbird or the Delpheaus Hills Ghoul as well as focusing a bit on the supernatural aspect of Carnivores Occult or Macabre.
I really love the game. Ive known it ever since 2020.
Amazing creature.
I remember playing carnivores when I was little. I wonder where I can get it to play it now
tbh, i love the model, but i'd have given it a long wolf-like tail.
cryptid which would fit PERFECTLY in a Dinosaur Hunter and Ice Age mod: Mokele Mbembe and the Beast of Partridge Creek (respectively).
I like the Wendigos
They’re pretty cool and creepy!
Man this game is so fun and I still play it and I’m a kid
Honostly the health of it kinda is a positive since it lures you into a false sense of security that its stronger than it looks
Imagine if this thing could disguise itself as a Megaloceras and mimic its calls
The last part of the wendigo presentation looked like the begining of a carnivores analog horror vid.
It’s my hope that someone does an analog horror Carnivores video 😅
@@SaurianTarget "The missing Dino Corp. files" could be a nice title.
People do love monster hunting games 😎
En mi opinion la mejor criatura que a podido salir en algun mod de carnivores
Man, an extensive FMM evolutionary tree would be awesome to see!
Other than that, I’m not sure, I’ve not had contact with them in years
I have a cryptid idea, the Chupacabra of vengar fjords.
Ik this is late, (great cover on the wendigo btw!) but could you perhaps cover carnivores Cordelia?
Definitely gonna be covering Cordelia in the future!
@@SaurianTarget Ok, thanks anyways!
In some cases wendigoes can only be killed by I believe ash for a certain tree so pumping round after round into it could be a main reason since the bullets you’re given aren’t coated in its counter plus in terms of lore the wendigo could be a hunter gone mad starved by the cold desolate area and sees anything as its prey (much like the real wendigo) but still retaining its basic hunting instincts and wants to drive the player mad just as it was driven mad by the cold by using its calls to hasten the process and drive the player insane turning them into a wendigo as well
That's true! I've seen several comments about how the Wendigos are lengendarily difficult to take down
@@SaurianTarget maybe later on if the developer of the mod added a perk that could be purchased called “ashen bullets” it could have a mortal zone right in the torso area to take it down quicker rather than wasting precious ammunition on a fast moving creature
Heavily biased towards crungus. But the manya jungle horse scares the life out of me. It’s just so unsettling.
The Manya Jungle horse is in a league of its own
Hello saurian, I have been a fan for a very long time and I love the videos, they ooze professionalism great skill.
Spooky
Tis the season!
Recently ran into this channel. Im entertain :)
Classic Tormer W
So scary mod cryptic wendigo terrify monsters suarin target thank you
Im so in love with this community, this is awesome🔥
Hey Saurian Target what a great video! Can you PLZ do a video on the Seismosaurus next!😃😄🙏
Seismosaurus? I think I already covered it in my Carnivores+ showcases… unless you mean the legendary Carnivores 1 Seismosaurus? 👀
@@SaurianTarget Yeah, the legendary C1 Seismosaurus!😃😃😃😄
I love wendigo so much
You should do the Iceberg carnivores video, i think it will be a very cool video
Cryptids in Carnivore hmm I wanna see a Mothman in Carnivore or a El Chupacabra too in a forest biome
For a second there I thought it was a film made with some kind of game engine hahahahaha
Since DinoHunt corp dealt with this kind of creature, they believed me and now to this day it is called, The Vengar Fjords Chupacabra.”
spooky spoopy deer man dinosaur thingy
Quite a creature, indeed
@@SaurianTarget ayo saurian, you should search in google the dino statues at colombia-"hacienda napoles", theyr stego looks soooo burien-like, your gona love it
Imagine if the central sector had something like Mothman or a goblin.
I mean we do have the Delphaeus hills ghoul, pretty close to a goblin
@@helpkirbyhasagun_2047
We were talking more about something like the hopkinsville goblin
@@thevenomspino
Never heard of that before? Guess I have something to do now lol
Wow, thing looks like a muppet from the images I’ve found, that’s kinda hilarious I’d love to hunt that
@@helpkirbyhasagun_2047
The funny thing about it is it was in a shoot out with the family who reported it.
Was gonna say its kill animation was lame until it did THAT! 4:19.
I feel like it shouldve had a deerlike hide on its back to confuse would be hunters. I love the way it runs
Me playing this would give me nightmares straight up...
What other cryptid will appear in this universe?
Could be anything… 👀
I certainly like this creature, but I wouldn’t personally call it a Wendigo.
In the Algonquin folklore that they originate from, they’re portrayed as humanoids with no antlers or deer features at all. Not to mention how taboo the topic of Wendigo’s is (in most folklore, you aren’t to even say their name). The deer appearance came from Hollywood, misrepresenting folklore, religion, and mythology as always.
So out of respect for the Algonquin people, these shouldn’t be referred to as Wendigos
I’d say the term “American Ghoul” fits a bit better. And this particular version is one of the best I’ve seen of it.
Is there like a list of carnivores cryptids by any chance?
I don’t know of an official list, the only ones I can think of off the top of my head are the Yeti, Ghoul, and Wendigo, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before more start to appear 👀
@@SaurianTarget I was more thinking of actual in-game cryptids people have reported, like the carnivores moschops
Pensé que nunca hablarias de este mod 😮😮😊
PERSONALLY,I LIKE TO THINK THE WENDIGO IS REALLY ONE OF THE ANCIENTS,BUT UNDER A CURSE,BECAUSE HE DID CANIBALISM,IF WE ALREADY KNOW ANCIENTS APARENTLY CAN PUT THEIR SOULS INTO SPECIFIC ZONES,THEN WHY THEY CANT BE CURSED
A cursed member of the Ancients sounds pretty creepy… 😬
@@SaurianTarget BUT INTERESTING AT THE SAME TIME,ALSO,OH MY GOD,THANKS FOR THE REPLY,I NEVER TOUGHT YOU WOULD DO IT IN A VIDEO,I LOVE YOUR CONTENT ^w^
Hey saurian, did you see my cryptid idea?
Where's that smilodon skin from? Looks interesting
I think it’s carnivores modern days, but I might be wrong
It’s an old leopard and tiger Smilodon skin I took and spliced together… I can’t remember who actually made the originals tho 🤔
