    I've been plowing for many years as well. I wouldn't say this guy is doing anything wrong. It all depends on the storm, the amount of snow, size of the blade, and the truck in general. Everyone has their own technique, some are sloppy, some are thorough, etc. Sometimes you need to get the heavy windrows out of the way or you won't get anywhere and you'll stress your truck out. Unless you've been out there plowing in these type of storms, it's hard to tell why someone plows the way they do.

    brtloz , what can I say? Lol, "haters gonna hate". I'm sure we all have different ways that we would do certain tasks. I know even growing up plowing with various lawn and/or larger farm tractors, when I got a truck with a plow last season, I had to change my techniques for plowing. No matter how you look at it, you're dealing with A LOT of snow. All I can say is I like it a whole lot better being in my nice warm truck. I enjoyed your video.

    A lot of guys on here have a lot more experience than I do. But this guy should try and move his banks back further...A lot further. Sooner or later you'll run out of space, then you'll need a loader to move them back. Just my take anyways.

    • @TheRonKlimo
      @TheRonKlimo 6 лет назад +2

      @@keithsimmons951 I don't understand your comment... he is plowing the snow before he drives over it. He nips away at the large amount in front of the garage and clears it. the type of snow he is plowing doesn't seem to pack down and clears nicely afterwards ... I'snt that how most people do it. I have a smaller truck and plow. this is how I have to do it sometimes also, pluck away at it the push it out of the way. Im asking because if there is a better way with a plow that does not have down force, please let me know. I don't plow professionally, I just do friends and family

    • @keithsimmons951
      @keithsimmons951 6 лет назад +2

      @@TheRonKlimo When he back drags it, he should lift his plow and back up a little further, drop the plow and then push it out of the way everytime. Bad habit to get into, because most snow does pack down and becomes almost impossible to scrape after that. I've been plowing since 1994.

    Great shot. Wow. I can't believe all the hate. For those who don't think you made any money, It looks like it took just under 8 minutes to plow the first driveway. At that rate you could do about 6 in an hour. If you charge $25 to $30 a driveway times that by 6 I would say that is pretty good money. Happy plowing in Rock Falls.

    • @FCFordLord
      @FCFordLord 9 лет назад

      I'd be surprised if the first customer didn't ask for their money back. One pile in the front yard, one that will spill into the driveway by the end of the season and require removal later on.

  • @dandaniels8897
    @dandaniels8897 2 года назад

    I don't know the month of the time of the plowing, it kinda looks like the first plowing of the season since there are no old piles of snow, if that's the case, I would push that snow back further to give you room for more snow, because once that snow sits on a pile, it freezes up and you can't move it with a truck. These comments are hilarious. This is a solid effort, with a bunch of snow. 8-12” I’m guessing. Plowing looks very sloppy when dealing with that much snow, until it’s done. I’ve never seen that backdrag “swoop” technique used before, that driveway came incredibly clean with this method.

    Some people know how to plow and some people don't like this dude in the red truck, hes just making more work for him by going over what he already plowed. Hope this is not his only job.

    Damn dude, how many holes did you put in that first driveway? That blade drops oftly hard

    Good going but maybe you waste a lot of time and distance by running full length each time. Better off to push into the trees with short backup.

    with a decent number of accounts, a decent amount of yearly snow, you ever consider getting a larger V, and EXT, or maybe a wideout? i think they'd really speed your process up.

    Most plows have an adjustment so the plow doesn't slam off the ground like it. Its hard on your plow and the asphalt

    He's not a horrible operator. But I wonder why he waited for the snow to get so deep before he pushed it. And there is all kinds of room on the left and right of the drive to put snow, not just right in front of the garage on either side. He was pretty fast considering how deep the snow was though.

      might be an area like south ohio that ususally gets 4 inches and then it all blows away, no prior snow banks so might not be a worry, and its fluffy, fluffy is good, also there's none around the propane tank so possibly a lot of drifting. A foot of sticky cement and you're screwed.

      Jeff Georgalas the snow is all fluff... easy to push. not to mention that it was probably not a urgent property. As for why he's not putting the snow to the left. the owner more than likely doesn't want snow/ scrap marks on Thier front lawn

    Why don't you pull all the way up to the garage back drag 20 ft and then turn around and back in and push it all out to the apron and then push it up?

    For this storage unit if he intends to keep it I'd get a 16ft snow pusher and a used backhoe and see if I can keep it their 8in of snow and how that needs to be plowed would be more efficient that way and you could have an intelligent person plow that for ya. You dont need a plan of action as much you just push snow with it. People think 2500 and 3500 can do it all nope.

    There you go. Create nice big berms at the end of the driveway, so that when the property owner leaves, he can't see left or right for oncoming traffic.
