I've been plowing for many years as well. I wouldn't say this guy is doing anything wrong. It all depends on the storm, the amount of snow, size of the blade, and the truck in general. Everyone has their own technique, some are sloppy, some are thorough, etc. Sometimes you need to get the heavy windrows out of the way or you won't get anywhere and you'll stress your truck out. Unless you've been out there plowing in these type of storms, it's hard to tell why someone plows the way they do.
Good job man. For some strange reason, it was enjoyable to watch you do that. Maybe because I'm a Southerner, and we hardly ever see this much snow, if any.
Not everyone, but the people that plow snow for a living do know a little bit. If I was an idiot, I wouldn't video myself doing idiot things. Kind of like the dumb assed kids videoing themselves committing crimes nowadays. Fucking moron.
brtloz , what can I say? Lol, "haters gonna hate". I'm sure we all have different ways that we would do certain tasks. I know even growing up plowing with various lawn and/or larger farm tractors, when I got a truck with a plow last season, I had to change my techniques for plowing. No matter how you look at it, you're dealing with A LOT of snow. All I can say is I like it a whole lot better being in my nice warm truck. I enjoyed your video.
I appreciate you posting this, sucks that so many people are disrespectful in the comments. But at my time of viewing 499 likes from those who do appreciate.
A lot of guys on here have a lot more experience than I do. But this guy should try and move his banks back further...A lot further. Sooner or later you'll run out of space, then you'll need a loader to move them back. Just my take anyways.
If he's the one with loader makes sense to him to not push back. Doesn't get the call back to bring loader. I personally don't think it's good business but it is business.
Did just fine... except for the first drive. Storage building area had me nervous...I thought for sure he was going to get shoved into the building by the big drift!😵😵😵. A grade of B+ sir.

@@keithsimmons951 I don't understand your comment... he is plowing the snow before he drives over it. He nips away at the large amount in front of the garage and clears it. the type of snow he is plowing doesn't seem to pack down and clears nicely afterwards ... I'snt that how most people do it. I have a smaller truck and plow. this is how I have to do it sometimes also, pluck away at it the push it out of the way. @@TheRonKlimo When he back drags it, he should lift his plow and back up a little further, drop the plow and then push it out of the way everytime. Bad habit to get into, because most snow does pack down and becomes almost impossible to scrape after that. I've been plowing since 1994.

plowed with an 08 3500hd last year. best truck ive ever plowed with. the thing never faltered. i felt unstoppable. sadly it was in a fire few months ago and im replacing it with a ram. hope it can at least compare.
Yah i wouldve started by dropping blade in front of garage and pull back. Pull as far as your truck is length wise, then turn around and push out to road. No dumb piles in their yard and its in that field!! Keeps customers happy happy!
Great shot. Wow. I can't believe all the hate. For those who don't think you made any money, It looks like it took just under 8 minutes to plow the first driveway. At that rate you could do about 6 in an hour. If you charge $25 to $30 a driveway times that by 6 I would say that is pretty good money. Happy plowing in Rock Falls.
I'd be surprised if the first customer didn't ask for their money back. One pile in the front yard, one that will spill into the driveway by the end of the season and require removal later on. I stopped watching after that. I'm assuming they're new at it and just don't know what they're doing.
you could save a LOT of backing up if you just drove around the buildings with the plow angled right and made larger and larger circles....keeping the truck moving forward is a LOT easier on the truck
I don't know the month of the time of the plowing, it kinda looks like the first plowing of the season since there are no old piles of snow, if that's the case, I would push that snow back further to give you room for more snow, because once that snow sits on a pile, it freezes up and you can't move it with a truck. These comments are hilarious. This is a solid effort, with a bunch of snow. 8-12” I’m guessing. Plowing looks very sloppy when dealing with that much snow, until it’s done. I’ve never seen that backdrag “swoop” technique used before, that driveway came incredibly clean with this method.
