I agree with you. That's why I post from the music of lesser-known Polish composers.

Love all his concerts for instruments, the four violin concertos as well as the beautiful clarinetconcerto. I find a comparison with Paganini not valid. Once upon a time they were friends but it end with disliking each other. Yulia, dear friend, you did me once again a great favor with the placing of this concert. And the week starts sunny and hopefully for you to with less pain and a good recovery as well and music is part of that.
Meriți să fii din nou cel vechi foarte repede.

Dear Pieter, thank you as usual for your beautiful comments.
You are right, Lipinski and Paganini could not be close friends, they were in fact rivals, but they respected each other: Lipinski dedicated three capriccios to Paganini and played for him. Meanwhile, Paganini delighted him when he took up his guitar and played as an accompaniment to the three capriccios.
Yes, the weather is quite pleasant and in my small garden, snowdrops bloomed and some daffodils are showing off their buds. It's a bit early, because February and March are capricious everywhere. But I hope I can enjoy the beauty of this spring, not just look out the window.... :) In fact, I am convinced that this will be the case!
      Thanks again for everything!

I did not remember Lipinski harsh rivalry with David but I am not surprised (strong personalities and applying for same job)
Paradoxically his way to treat orchestation has quite a number of touch points with Mendelssohn whom he did not like ... LOL :-) Of course solo violin style has really nothing to do with either Mendelssohn or David, but I also see very few touch points with Paganini whose jobs are way more hisitrionic and more markedly virtuoso. Lipinski style is smoother, yet - I guess - equally hard to play
My feeling is that Lipinski melodies are quite a lot linked to Polish tradition at least by atmosphere if not by citing tunes
A very attractive concerto, all in all
PS: I read about your surgery: I count everything resolved to the best and wish you a prompt and solid recovery!

      Thank you!
I only vaguely remembered this review of Jonathan Woolf, I was referring to him in another posting with Lipinski about 7-8 years ago, on another site. I was looking for it now, I liked it, although such information does not appear elsewhere and I do not know how true it is. But no matter how many rivalries there were at the time, I like Lipinski's music and I really think he was a virtuoso of his time.
(I will be able to talk about my complete recovery, with pride I hope :-) ... in about 6-7 months ... Anyway, thank you!)
