フルートとピアノのための「鎮霊」

この作品は、荒ぶる魂を鎮めるための、架空の宗教的・シャーマン的儀式である。
東工大の学生時代、私は、専門科目よりも、人文社会系の講義に夢中になっていた。
その中でも、特に橋爪大三郎先生の宗教社会学と、上田紀行先生の文化人類学の講義には大いに感銘を受け、
卒業して何年経った今でも、自分の考え方、人生観に大きな影響を及ぼしている。
上田先生の文化人類学の講義の中で、スリランカの「悪魔祓い」のビデオを見せていただいたことがあった。
病める若い女性が、儀式によって、最後には笑いながら快復していく様子からは、
論理と非論理の境界の喪失といった、今までに自分にとって未知の領域を知ることができ、
今でもその映像を鮮明に覚えている。
もちろん、この楽曲は「悪魔祓い」を音楽で描写したものではなく、
絶対音楽の類に属するものではあるが、原イメージとしては「悪魔祓い」から受けたインスピレーションが根底にある。
難曲に対して真摯に取り組んでいただいた、平田さん、藤光さんの両氏には心から感謝をいたします。

This music is the imaginary religious or shamanistic ritual to calm violent spirits.
When I was a student of Tokyo Institute of Technology,
I was much interested in the lectures of humanities and social science rather than my major such as physics or math and so on.
Especially, I was very impressed by the lecture of religious sociology by Dr. Daizaburo HASHIDUME and cultural anthropology by Dr. Noriyuki UEDA,
so that they affect much on my ways of thinking and outlook on life.
In the lecture of cultural anthropology by Dr. Ueda, he showed the video of exorcism in Sri Lanka.
The scene where a young woman who was sick would been finally recovered by the ritual with laugh made me know such as the disappearance of the border between logic and illogic which I had no idea before,
and even after several decades, I can recall the vivid picture.
Surely, this music does not describe the exorcism directly and it is a kind of the absolute music.
But the original image was based on the inspiration I got by the exorcism.
I express my gratitude for Mr. HIRATA and Ms. FUJIMITSU who devote themselves in this difficult piece.
