      Hi Jennifer, it would be nice in a near future to see you vlog something about bringing cremated remains of the love ones whom they wish to have their final rest back home to Philippines. Like type of documents required for you to bring when you landed that the immigration might ask for you to show. Your vlogs are always clear and easy to understand. I hope you can make one to help educates our kababayans. More power to you always and god bless you. 🙏🏼 🙏🏼 🙏🏼

    Hello. We have just been thru this extension of the Balikbayan. After your 12 month period you can extend your stay for 1 to 6 months. The Balikbayan privelage is cancelled and you will be given a tourist visa extension for the 1 to 6 month you request. You will also need to apply for an ACR card, meaning full photographs and 10 digit fingerprints. Approx 14,000 peso's and all day sitting in Immigration office. Better to fly out of the country and renew your Balikbayan privelage for a full 12 months.

    I arrived in Terminal 1 last December and the first line I got in was to verify my QR code. There were about 12 booths -6 booths on one side and 6 on the other. There were a lot of people since more than one flight arrived around the same time. It took a while to get through since the lines were not organized and everyone just bunched up. At Immigration, there was one section for Filippino citizens and one for foreigners. It was easier for Filipino citizens to go through since it was all electronic scanning. One note, be sure to have your boarding pass available or you won't go through. Being Balikbayan, I was in the foreigner line which took a little longer, and all they checked was my passport.
    After going through immigration, I picked up my luggage, and since I had a connecting flight to Cebu, I was directed to the transfer desk after picking up my luggage. I did not have to go through customs since the transfer desk was still inside the baggage claim. I just left my luggage with the luggage attendants who tagged my luggages for transfer. I was then directed outside the terminal and turned right to take a transfer bus to Terminal 2. It was about a 10-15 minute wait till we arrived at Terminal 2. I strongly suggest if you have a connecting flight that you have a least a 2-3 hour gap between flights.

    Jennifer, your information from your videos is spot on. We arrived in Cebu yesterday and the process getting through immigration/passport control and customs was very easy and efficient. Even getting the one year Balikbayan for me and my Filipina wife was quick and painless. We traveled from Austin, Texas, caught EVA Air in LAX with a connecting flight in Taipei. Other than the incredibly long flight, it was great. The biggest delay was waiting for baggage in Cebu. As we all know, Filipinos love to bring many Balikbayan boxes with them when they come home. The shipping price is probably pretty high. Thanks for all your work and information. By the way, it seemed like half the flight were foreigners coming for a visit.

      @@ashleylibrando9 no, not when we flew into Cebu on Jan 26. Nor, none required into Taiwan, especially since we never left the airport. As long as you were fully vaccinated, which we are. The last time that I was in the Philippines which was in October of 2020 I wore the headphones that were provided by the airlines and I used those to put the elastic part of the facemask on because wearing the facemask for a long time really hurts my ears. This solved that problem and what a relief it was. My wife, mother in law and I will be returning to the Philippines on March 24th so we have about 8 weeks until we leave. Thank you for your updates as I will continue to watch them until we leave just to be sure that nothing changes. We are all fully vaccinated so no worries about any of us having to be quarantined. I miss the Philippines.

    Hello Jen! Thank you for all you do! My sister and I went home on December 17th (returned Jan 8th). Flew into Clark. We are fully vaccinated with booster. No issues at all! They only asked for the etravel QR code and that was it!! Very smooth!!
    Getting there and coming back was another issue as we booked our flights with Air Canada (from Atlanta). They changed our flights 3 times with longer layovers (14 hours going and 28 hours coming back). They checked in my sister’s carry on bag but never made it to the Philippines. They mailed it to my house in the U S and we still had a over week left on our vacation. Luckily, I had enough clothes for my sister to wear (although they fit her a little bit bigger 🤣). The frustrations of getting there and coming back was all worth it though as we were able to spend the holidays with our family. I’ve learned my lesson with Air Canada. They will be my last resort!
    Again, thanks Jen for all you do!!

On my last trip to the Philippines in December, I asked the Immigration officer if she would stamp my passport with a Balikbayan stamp. She told me it had already been stamped. I was a little confused because there was no stamp saying "Balikbayan". The only thing I noticed was that she had used a black stamp with the arrival date on it beneath the regular red stamp they use upon arrival. I'm assuming this is the new protocol to identify Balikbayans entering the Philippines?

    Hi Miss Jen i am a balikbayan but is my daughter husband included in balikbayan previllege if they traveled with me?

    • @kitty_s23456
      @kitty_s23456 Год назад

      No. Your daughter can have BB privilege (bring her birth cert) but her husband is not included since he's not your blood relative. He can get 30 days visa on arrival (depends on his nationality).

    How about if my nephew and niece were born in US Subic Bay ? are they considered as US born ? although it’s a Philippine soil?

    • @kitty_s23456
      @kitty_s23456 Год назад

      It depends on the nationality of their parents. Was one of their parents a Filipino citizen at the time of the birth of the child? Also, what year were they born? Before or after 1973? Different rules apply.

  • @TM-sn7db
    @TM-sn7db Год назад +1

    US passports show the origin of birth. I'm sure that would be enough to be used as proof of being a former born Filipino citizen.

    • @kitty_s23456
      @kitty_s23456 Год назад

      Not all babies born in PH are Filipino citizens. To be a PH citizen, one must have at least one parent who is a Filipino citizen at the time of birth (priciple of jus sanguinis vs. jus soli). PH operates on jus sanguinis while USA gives jus soli. (search for the terms)

    Great video. Where's the best place to get a SIM Card for my phone? At the airport or at a phone store at the mall? Thanks Jen 👍

    • @kitty_s23456
      @kitty_s23456 Год назад

      Before you exit the airport, there are kiosks selling SIM cards. If you're going to the province, it's best to know which provider (Globe vs Smart) has better coverage. If you'll stay in large cities, almost equal coverage.

      They won’t be eligible for the Balikbayan visa thru you. They will be eligible for the 30day visa-free stay.

    Hello Jennifer. First your information is extremely helpful. My wife and I are in the Philippines now and under the Balikbayan
    program. Do you know if I was to leave the Philippines on my own during the year that we are covered, can I return by myself and continue the privilege for the remainder of the year.

    • @kitty_s23456
      @kitty_s23456 Год назад +2

      No. If you leave, your balikbayan visa is cancelled even if it has remaining days/ months on it. If you re-enter PH alone, you'll be considered as a foreign tourist and will be given 30 days visa on arrival only. You'll also need an exit ticket which leaves in 30 days or less.
