This is called maturity. India knows we have nuclear armed enemies as our neighbour. Still India is not investing heavily on defence because we have enuf to defend our country and we are not looking for offensive war yet. We dont want to crumble like Russian economy who spent too much on their military in 1970s 80s just to compete with US. Lastly we are trying to develop our own defence industry and it might take some time but we can manage. We dont want to put money on foreign made equipments entirely and making their pockets warmers.

India should more emphasis on research and development in military arsenal but for that Indian Govt need to increase Budget for research and development . The Budget that has alloted for the research and development is Quite low , and which need more investment in the field to become self realient in indigenous military and scientific development , For Better future and Prime objective of self reliant of the country govt should Give more importance towards innovation, Govt should need to engage with domestic private companies to manufacture self indigenous military arsenal despite , still india huge amount spent on importing Military hardware from foreign nation, which need to stop this trend completely , give more focus towards indigenously.
