It’s very refreshing to actually see a professional sailor on RUclips. Sailing Antarctica and Tierra del Fuego would be a magnificent adventure. Perhaps the equivalent of climbing Everest. Fair winds and Godspeed.
The best ever captain skip , what I like about him when ever he talks he just trying being as informative as possible and giving you the explanation you wish to hear !!
Having done a couple of trips to/from Antarctica (ANARE) I have to say that those two boats are some of the nicest and most versatile I've seen yet. Great video and thanks for the tour - really appreciated.
Skip you are in your element! You are my sailing hero! I hope to do some sailing like this soon! Keep up the videos! Very interesting and very practical!
This guy I love so prepared.I’m only getting into sailing I’m a fitter welder thinking of building a yacht and want it strong. I like the simplicity to .Technology doesn’t makeup for lack of ability .My flight instructor told me that.great videos. I do a lot of hunting in Nz when I can.But live in Australia. But when we fly in for a week hunting got to think a head.
That ship is incredible! Retracting keel and rudder??? I can just imagine the shipbuilder after he said "I want a 77 foot expedition fitted vessel, but with retractable keel and rudders" 😖😳😷
Now THOSE are some real deal sailboats! How do you choose your crew? I'm graduating from Massachusetts Maritime Academy in June of 2014 and would LOVE a chance to sail with you fine folks!
Congratulations for the fantastic video. I am a sailor and a MD (U.S. based), would LOVE to be part of an expedition of yours, please let me know if there's ever a need for someone like myself 👊
Curious to know what work had to be done in the engineroom to dampen the sound seen as she's aluminium built ? Beautiful vessel and well laid out indeed .
Great vessels and video! The sounds of "swish" of the polyester clothing Skip is wearing is a little distracting, and a lesson to me that I'll avoid wearing such cloths when I record video in quiet environments....
Hi all, does anyone know how Skip Novak stores the outboards in his workshop without making a mess with the engine oil and fuel dripping out? Thanks a lot, Dutch
That's an Aerorig. It's a freestanding mast with the jib and main boom all on one long boom and the whole thing swivels. Very easy to handle and perfectly balanced and you can swing the jib way out down wind in lieu of a spinnaker.

I specially appreciate that all the rigging control is manuel.
Skip: "Keep it simple". Thanks for the master's word.
Amazing sailing concept.
Captain Novak is brilliant.
My favorite sailboat walkthrough... A quantum leap ahead of everyone else.

Incredible, every possibility is covered. I'd love to see all that in action Skip.

It's interesting watch Skip's ideal expedition boat evolve from one iteration to the next
That he has done tis and is still alive shows he knows what he is doing. Well done, Skip!
A lot of these points are in the Garcia designs too. Really great.
Both boats are very nice! Id love to try sailing some day.
Gorgeous boats. Do what they're designed to do with no nonsense. Perfect :)

Beautiful sailboat skip your a super designer
I knew this guy is deadly serious... but the "spare propeller" topped it off!

Thanks, Skip, awesome tour!
no nonsense utility and survivability, reminds me of a warship
Best design I think I have ever seen.
Impressively well thought out.

Beautiful design.Serious rig for serious sailing...
Brilliantly designed boat.
6:53 How much fuel? 6,500 litres?
Skip, full respect bro.
Really great film.
Fantastic yachts and looking forward for the upcoming videos. What're the brands of those watertight barrels by the way? They seemed perfect.
The aluminum boat is so nice 😍, respect 🫡

"Every climber gets a barrel." I wish I could go.
Nice Boats. But how fast can they go?
I'm worried that "holding it" or "going over the side" is encouraged to avoid every having more than one bathroom.
“Bobs your uncle “
👍🏻😂
wasn't Australis the support boat on Chasing Shackleton?
Sailing around the world ⛵ 🌎 the best education
I admire you skipper..get the boat for the purpose aye..so be it
awsome
It is a floating palace for sailors...
10:50 Holy shit, is that the Trintella Mona Lisa next to you?

OK so these are great videos , BUT what the hell is a animal carcass doing tied to the rigging ??
Protein
It’s good for morale when the food starts getting dull.
👍
All for $1.99 rounded up to 2 dollars!
Bobs your uncle.
You need a cook? I couldn't imagine a better life.
