This is HAN favourite song of Changbin. The lyrics are so good and Changbin glowed like a lightbulb when HAN complimented him on streetlights. Honestly the lyrics really made me think of hannie because at the time when he was a trainee and had a hard time connecting with people and fighting with everybody.. he really was in a bad state and very lonely. Changbin said that this song wasnt just how he felt but also people around him.. talking about how there was a slump period.. the same year HAN wrote lyrics for slump(2020)... he wrote alien in 2019 and he talked the most with Changbin about his worries.. so yeah. those two def. have something special as a sibling bond. I love this song its close to my heart and it makes me hurt for them.

This is a streetlife EMORAP sub genre.. I love how JYP used its medium to spreads awareness using its music form.. After day6 ZOMBIE emo inspired, now we have a sub genres to listen too.. Only JYP artist did it first, on this GENERATION 2020! KUDOS TO JYP and its ARTISTS! Koreans millennials should listen more on this kind of genres.. Bec. People have to understand that Changbin wrote this song out of his heart and thoughts, Kpop idols are humans too. They feel lonely some times just like everyone else. We can't just see them as robots and just dancing, singing and performing machines. They are humans, they have feelings. I am just glad that Stray Kids write songs about what they feel, it just encourages us that we are not alone and even the "perfect" kpop idols feel this way some times. One think I realise, Stray Kids has many emotional rapper. I know they are based hip hop group and when the rapper rap, it sound so cool and aggressive but when they do melody rap, it just hit so hard. I can't describe it, but because they wrote the lyrics themselves, that's why their expression is so real. They went through it. They are still young but you got to admit, almost all member are quite sentimental people. I don't really see this kind of kpop group in the industry. Most boy group don't do this kind of concept. Do you guys remember they sang Glow at their survival show, they say Changbin wrote it. They didn't even debut that time but Changbin wrote the song that reach the fan's heart. And when Minho, Felix and Changbin sang it in front of JYP, they look so sad like there's really that sad emotion on their face. They really put their heart when performing. I'm amazed by them. South Korea has the highest rate of suicides in the world, so I am glad that more artists are starting to express themselves where mental health is concerned. Idols are idolised for the fantasy and not reality. Not only would it be helping to lift a burden off themselves but also reinforcing the fact that despite what our backgrounds are, we all suffer mentally to some degree and at different times in our lives. Before anything else we are all human.

The lyrics of streetlight is so heartbreaking it feels like the person had a problem but that person choose not to rely to others but just relying to himself. I get you as well. I was in a tough situation when I was introduced to Stray Kids. It was really hard for me to get through everyday. To everyone else, I was the same smiling me, laughing happy me. But it was all fake. After a point in my life, I stopped trusting anyone outside of my family. But then I met Stray Kids and my life flipped. The amount of power that words hold, I only realised then. I relate to so many of their songs, I found closure. I became so much better, and for that... I will forever be grateful towards Stray Kids. Have just come across this for the first time. The lyrics are so powerful and set against beautiful rap beat and melody. The imagery of blue paint on dead twigs (beyond blue) added to the powerful message. I have lost friends and colleagues to depression and was bawling by the end. Song is very underrated.

@@renmillan7419 honestly during a first a listen, i shed a few tears since i can understand 75% of his words and because i know where the direction of the song was going but I wasn't ugly crying. but afterward, when i looked up the whole translation of the lyrics, i full on ugly sobbed and wanted to give him the biggest hug i could muster. i'm so proud of him for having the courage to open up about this stuff and feel reassured that I'm not the only one who feels like this at times. he really is a lyrical genius and nobody can fight me on this.

This is HAN favourite song of Changbin. The lyrics are so good and Changbin glowed like a lightbulb when HAN complimented him on streetlights. Honestly the lyrics really made me think of hannie because at the time when he was a trainee and had a hard time connecting with people and fighting with everybody.. he really was in a bad state and very lonely. Changbin said that this song wasnt just how he felt but also people around him.. talking about how there was a slump period.. the same year HAN wrote lyrics for slump(2020)... he wrote alien in 2019 and he talked the most with Changbin about his worries.. so yeah. those two def. have something special as a sibling bond. People have to understand that Changbin wrote this song out of his heart and thoughts, Kpop idols are humans too. They feel lonely some times just like everyone else. He put all his thought and feelings intro this. Changbin “it hurts to be alone” If you feel alone it’s alright. He can’t express his emotions except for being happy. He likes to make other happy and in the end makes him feel alone because everyone sees his bright side but not his hurt cold side. He is still trying to figure out what his feelings are. People can feel alone weather with fans or not. I would mention an example, but I don’t want to be that person that brings up another group or anything. He is still trying to figure out if he can express him emotions or not. Like his sadness and pain. He believes he needs to be happy for us, but that shouldn’t be like that. He needs to know we will love and support him even if he shows us his hurt side . We will always support him weather he does or doesn’t. That’s what I think and if you read this all. Thank you!
One think I realise, Stray Kids has many emotional rapper. I know they are based hip hop group and when the rapper rap, it sound so cool and aggressive but when they do melody rap, it just hit so hard. I can't describe it, but because they wrote the lyrics themselves, that's why their expression is so real. They went through it. They are still young but you got to admit, almost all member are quite sentimental people. I don't really see this kind of kpop group in the industry. Most boy group don't do this kind of concept. Do you guys remember they sang Glow at their survival show, they say Changbin wrote it. They didn't even debut that time but Changbin wrote the song that reach the fan's heart. And when Minho, Felix and Changbin sang it in front of JYP, they look so sad like there's really that sad emotion on their face.
They really put their heart when performing. I'm amazed by them. You know what people always say, how else can you write a song if you never experience it. I wish Stray Kids the best. Love them !
Yes, exactly! That is the reason I think why they appeal to so many people on an emotional base because they are talking about really bad struggles humans (and especially idols) go through. Not everyone in that industry can express so much emotion through a song because they haven't gone through the massage the song has...
It is because they write their own song. When someone write a song it is usually based on what you experienced. They can give the emotion the song deserves as they experienced it beforehand. These kids are really talented yet people are sleeping around them
Shan Yusarin that’s what makes them so special. I was attracted to stray kids because of their bonds and how true they are while singing. it’s really beautiful. their songs that has a lot of deep meanings and relatable makes me even attached to their songs.

i know most people tend to really focus on changbin's hard and aggressive raps on 'maze of memories' and 'matroshyka' so everyone automatically recommend those songs when ppl ask who he is, but there's more to him than that. i wish more people would also equally praise him for his creative and heartfelt metaphors within his lyricism in more of his mellow songs like 'streetlight', 'never-ending story' and 'only a fool knows' since it tells so much about him as a person and give people an insight at how powerful his lyric writing skill is at his age. idk out of all the songs he's been credited to, i just really feel like this song in particular have one of the most important message that others should listen to but it's just not getting enough recognition and it's kinda frustrating ajdldjskdhkd

We don't talk about this song often. We need to stop ignoring songs like this which highlight mental issues so that people who are struggling can know that are not alone
South Korea has the highest rate of suicides in the world, so I am glad that more artists are starting to express themselves where mental health is concerned. Idols are idolised for the fantasy and not reality. Not only would it be helping to lift a burden off themselves but also reinforcing the fact that despite what our backgrounds are, we all suffer mentally to some degree and at different times in our lives. Before anything else we are all human.

The lyrics of streetlight is so heartbreaking it feels like the person had a problem but that person choose not to rely to others but just relying to himself. It's so sad because Changbin said before he wrote the song he sometimes struggles alone.

I have suffered from depression for like 7 or 8 years...it's not like the sad hours, it's worse, way worse. There wasn't anyone I trusted and I felt comfortable to talk to. Even my parents.... I totally understand you Changbin. This is one of the most relatable songs I have ever heard.

I get you as well. I was in a tough situation when I was introduced to Stray Kids. It was really hard for me to get through everyday. To everyone else, I was the same smiling me, laughing happy me. But it was all fake. After a point in my life, I stopped trusting anyone outside of my family.
But then I met Stray Kids and my life flipped. The amount of power that words hold, I only realised then. I relate to so many of their songs, I found closure. I became so much better, and for that... I will forever be grateful towards Stray Kids.

Have just come across this for the first time. The lyrics are so powerful and set against beautiful rap beat and melody. The imagery of blue paint on dead twigs (beyond blue) added to the powerful message. I have lost friends and colleagues to depression and was bawling by the end. Song is very underrated.

honestly during a first a listen, i shed a few tears since i can understand 75% of his words and because i know where the direction of the song was going but I wasn't ugly crying. but afterward, when i looked up the whole translation of the lyrics, i full on ugly sobbed and wanted to give him the biggest hug i could muster. i'm so proud of him for having the courage to open up about this stuff and feel reassured that I'm not the only one who feels like this at times. he really is a lyrical genius and nobody can fight me on this.

The way I managed to cry without even understanding the lyrics shows how good he is at expressing his emotions through rapping and singing, and after reading the lyrics, I kinda broke down and kept repeating it, I felt like, finally someone in this whole world understands me, but what's even more heartbreaking is the fact that he actually had to go through this kind of pain, changbin really is a person that amazes me in EVERYTHING he does, and if I'd have to pick one song for the rest of my life, it's gonna be this one
