Gotta love the translation: "A big city somewhere... Men making a stand against a gigantic crime." But for its time, that was probably one of the more intense openings with the girl getting shot.
Lol, yeah, "Godfather" this is not, though it's obvious the developers had just watched "The Godfather", "The Untouchables" etc. before developing this - they straight up have Kevin Costner as a selectable character, lol.
@@yellowblanka6058 Isn't that The Godfather himself in the intro? I don't know, I've never seen it but I've definitely seen that face, its almost as famous as the "We Want You" poster lol : P
Evil power steals on. No matter how corny or nonsensical the story sequences are in these old games they just feel right. Thank you for uploading. I used to love playing games like this with my dad when I was a kid.
13 years later, they STILL begin fighting, keeping anger in their heart. Sadness & revene... THAT'S whats fuelled this feeling for so many years, IMO when I press start.
As weird as japanese games can get, it's so much weirder to see a game opening trying to do some dramatic chicago mobster tragedy scene, yet with japanese speech like "They begin fighting, keeping anger in their hearts." XD.
@@yellowblanka6058 If I was Kevin Costner, Taito would have included this smasher of a game on Taito Legends. Guaranteed. Chuck Norris would do the same too, I know. Look at the decisions he makes in Eye For An Eye.
I'm in love with this blend of film noir style with some classic John Woo tropes - acrobatics, extensive destruction, grossly OP shotgun, and such. On another note, this plot is almost literally the McBain movie made into a game.
Those movies were at the top of the billboards during those years, so is possible the developers loved those movies and they thought those characters were iconic enough for a game about cinema gangsters.
I dont know whether to say he's cheating or epic, he never seems to get hit in ANY of the games he plays, despite how much contact there is with enemy attacks... either way, I like these arcade longplay vids
I have no explanation for it except to posit economics but as we got into the 90's, game design was sloppier and the graphics were no better than the 80's, often worse

Man, this game had DEPTH!
Great playthrough!
I agree. This was one of Taito's best games- I feel that THEY've should've been the ones to be popular and well remembered instead of Capcom.

Oh man, I am looking for this game for more than 20 years, today I finally found it! Thank you for this video.
Dead Connection is a classic arcade game with a vengeance
Dead Connection is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME and STUNNINGLY AMAZING
Hard to argue with this review, especially because I agree.
Looks more like the prohibition era than the 1950's
Found this in a back room arcade in Banbury, Oxfordshire in 1992... never saw it again. I think its the most underrated arcade game of all time.
It takes balls to take on a junkyard full of hitmen with no backup and only a 9mm pistol.

That’s literally EVERY taito game. Some of the worst Japanese to English translations
The Untouchables: The Game
RegularGamesPlayer And That Taito Got That Idea of Before Making This Game Right After They Seeing
The Godfather and Untouchable
Here endeth the lesson.
Why Taito never added this game to either Taito legends i will never know. It's a great and slept on game.
I'm thinking because the intro character that looks like Marlon Brando and the one selectable character that looks like Kevin Costner.

It’s confirmed for Arcade Archives, at least.
"Hey, boss, the licensing deal to make an Untouchables arcade game fell through. What do we do?"
"...Make it anyway."
This game was straight gangster! Great game.

Sadness & Revenge is all Taito needed to pull this off! Stay ontop of the scrapyard heap BTW!
That gunner that kills the girl in the intro...he has a TROLLFACE!
James looks exactly like Kevin Costner from Untouchables while the big boss Nerozzia looks exactly like Marlon Brando from Godfather.Coincidence?
Those movies were at the top of the billboards during those years, so is possible the developers loved those movies and they thought those characters were iconic enough for a game about cinema gangsters.
Reminds me of the Untouchables.
EDIT : Looks like most people in the comments section thinks the same.
Wolfdragon mentioned this game on my channel, and it looks like a lot of fun. I'll have to give it a shot sometimes.
Gangster Squad game
Uah,.... haven't seen this game for ages.... Gotta love it!
I think it's cool that the background stuff takes damage if somebody shoots at it. Seems like a pretty fun shooter.
The guy with the cigar and tommy gun shooting the woman in the beginning......Bah Gawd Almighty it's Vince McMahon!
Jim Ross: Aw, son of a bitch!
this game has some "the outfoxies " vibes
Dead Connection has been the only Taito's bloody game, maybe.
Gives the image of some parody "hands in the air or I´ll shoot" and then continue to shoot the crap out of everything and everyone :D.
Damn. Don Corleone has seen better days. 0:19
thanks alot this game looks awesome!! is it four players or three??
this game is quite fair on your wallet actually.
I dont know whether to say he's cheating or epic, he never seems to get hit in ANY of the games he plays, despite how much contact there is with enemy attacks... either way, I like these arcade longplay vids
Yeah, something seems slightly fish here, he does seem to get hit on occasion but his health never decreases.
Talk about a really fun game!
I agree. I was thinking exactly the same thing after seeing the intro and character selection screen.
Is there a way to finish Dead Connection without rescuing the girl in stage 4?
is it me or did cod designers get some of thier level designs from this game?
This game coming soon to Playstation through Arcade Archives!
quite a durable mobster at stage 3's end.
O_O
That game looks great. :D
What a disappointment to the ending all that for nothing
It's sad that this never got a home port, instead we got that shitty Ocean Untouchables game
데드커넥션..추억이다..
wow ...he must be packed with tons of ammo or he make it like in mgs and draw on his weapon the sign of infinty. XD
remind me side scrolling action flash movies... Bunny kill
Muito massa
ah, lol, so it's a mix of both
Yo lo logré acabar jejeje
I have no explanation for it except to posit economics but as we got into the 90's, game design was sloppier and the graphics were no better than the 80's, often worse
Lost gem
