    Not only did he support the victims of 26/11 of the Taj Hotel, but also victims and their relatives of Oberoi, Leopold, and CST by paying for surgeries, rehabilitation and the education of their children

      No its important we have every Indian understand his understanding of value, money is not the value he belied in, its empowerment and vision, he was never a puppet to anyone else's thoughts, he had a vision when the west couldn't make a business he made it, its all propaganda. You never get to hear the last words on a death bed. for rattan tata it will be i tried my best!!! and that's how we should remember him.

    God has blessed the Tata family and every generation has seen a Tata performing not only in business but also in their approach to assisting and helping the needy.
    This is the philosophy of the Tata family and a very good one at that.
    Ratan Tata was exemplary in this aspect and a fighter at that. He knew deep within him that his success in the automobile industry was partly owed to the manner in which he was dressed down so he decided to face the obstruction and overcome it. Hence he knew when the time was right he would forge a deal with Ford and allow them to keep their face. These are all makings of a great man.

      because all Steel ventures in UK have failed to sustain in the global market as the all auto manufacturing ventures eg. Corus, Jaguar Land Rover, Nortan, BSA, Trimph, Rolls Royce……..many many more.
      and Tata group not only works with the gov but with the community and TATA is already the biggest steel manufacturer in UK through Corus as Corus is owned by Tata. Tata is UK’s biggest industrial employer.

    • @nicktecky55
      @nicktecky55 Год назад

      For the same reason that big industry has failed again and again. Failure of the UK Treasury to bother even to find out what the needs of such industries are.
      That's where British Leyland went. Michael Edwardes was clear shortly after the collapse. He had no problem with the unions, although there were a lot of them. The Treasury wouldn't allow him to borrow the money to develop the replacement engine for the B series. Steel plants were not allowed to invest in the rolling mills that made the highest quality steel needed by BL, yet The Treasury obliged BL to use the output. So BL cars rotted, and the domestic market disappeared.
      Let's not forget, this was going on long before Thatcher.

    "To live well is the best revenge" - Anon
    The condescending attitude of white westerners towards India and Indians predates the egregious Bill Ford. During the British Raj, the discriminatory policies of our former colonial rulers kept us backwards. We were sneered at and derided as "hewers of wood and drawers of water". These attitudes persist with the Anglo press questioning the achievements of the Indian Space Research Organisation. This overlooks the plentiful foreign exchange that ISRO earns for launching other countries' satellites, including those of the UK.
    Not long after the British left in 1947, India gave the lie to their smug assumption about our supposedly perpetual backwardness by becoming the world's 11th most industrialised nation.

    The deal with Ford was win-win. Yes Ford was arrogant and took it up the skirt with the sale prices of Land Rover and Jaguar. But in the time Ford owned those companies, they gleaned much needed technology and innovation they probably wouldn’t have gotten on their own. Also Ford couldn’t do what they needed to do to grow that handful of companies. Ford is too small and it’s just not in their DNA to tackle all of that. They have done much better as a company concentrating on mainly just Ford.
    I work for Ford s and I can tell you Ford loves and values their Indian employees for their intelligence and savvy. That’s probably what they wanted from Tata…an employee , not a competitor.

    Land Rover still make lame money pits cars. I do not see the point. I’d much rather have a Toyota.
