Did his absolute best to get in on it and be noticed with the wild hair and lots of strutting around etc whilst Tom was onboard, then used the first excuse he could find to out him and be the lead. Fantastic riff, great song, great band, genuinely rocking it. I really think the drummer is top - notch, no gumming or mucking about, no show ponying, he's just doing the business. Class, not much else one can say really. Oh, and man they are great live.
