So I'm deaf and I've become a new fan of Jonathan Mcreynolds. It took me a while to get him as a musician because he does not move his lips that much. But after seeing him minister in December, and he looked right at me and started signing, that's when I began paying more attention to his lyrics. Your description took me to a deeper level of understanding of his voice and style. Thank you. I love music and miss hearing it more than anything else.
Jonathan is a great example of how a beautiful singer doesn’t have to be a belter. Also it’s an easy tell when a vocalist is also a musician (especially if they play keys or guitar), their runs are always unexpected, creative and perfectly articulated.

I stumbled on Jonathan McReynolds listening to koryn hawthrone latest album he has a duet with her called "Peace" it made me look him up and whew I'm glad I did his voice is so beautiful sometimes I don't want to hear all that yelling and screaming just hearing his voice and how anointed and peaceful it sounds

Can you appraise Kelontae Gavin’s vocal technique? His voice is interesting... You were spot on with Jonathan’s techniques. I always thought he and El DeBarge sound alike. They have that same soft intentional approach that you mentioned.

I sing and you just taught me something because as I get older my voice becomes raspy. I just practiced with my mouth semi closed and was able to hit every note without sounding raspy. I never was raspy before but I moved from NY tonNC and that’s when my voice changed a little, but then I stopped singing for about a year and a half and didn’t do a lot of talking so my voice got relaxed.
Jaron you are talented your self. And, you know your stuff !! Very educational..I wish I could sing I'm Tone Deaf for real. But, I would love to make a record for my purpose only. Not to sell just to see what a talented person like you could do with a tone deaf person. I would sing about Love, Sex and Drugs. In that order !!

My husband is a musician with a uniquely discerning ear. On the other hand, I think my talent is vocal appreciation. Will you help us out on Billy Porter. I think he is shallow and a mediocre singer. One thing I noticed was he always adjusted his posture to open up for crescendos....or was that me just reaching...?
I’d have to watch again. He may! Increase in volume causes one to possibly increase their body effort so he may change his posture!
