You see RAFT can only fit ONE cargo box PER EACH cargo clamp. IT HAS 3x 32SCU clamps, that is 3x 32SCU boxes. BUT IN FACT IT IS 3X OF WHATEVER BOX YOU SHOVE INTO THEM. If you happen to attach a handheld box, then that huge 32SCU area is negated by this tiny tiny hand held box and nothing else can be attached although there is clearly enough room. (You may attach ONLY in the 3 far right claps. The rest do not work.)

A good 1100 or more of those employees are probably marketing, management, and CG artists making fake videos for Citizen Con. I mean, we know the ship team is one of the largest and it only has 16 people, which is baffling. And of those, most of them are artists. Source: the ISC where the ship guys said fully half their entire team was working on the Polaris to get it ready to sell at IAE, and there were 8 artists working on it. If the lifeblood of the game, ships, only warrants that amount of resources, then QA is probably not a robust department and it shows. Combined with poor management, and this is what you get after 12 years.

@chrissinclair8705 for a few years by now, CIG doesn't even pretend to give us a halfway playable patch.
The patches of the last years are utterly broken and not even a 0.1 or 0.2 patch fixes most of the issues.
I guess putting new code onto terrible old spaghetti code with quick and dirty "fixes" several layers on top of each other is not a good strategy.

The game still has no detailed, written master plan. As long as there's no plan for developers to consult they will continue to make mistakes like this. In a company with 1100+ employees you cannot expect them to consult every other person when they have to make a design decision. But that's why you have a detailed, written plan - as long as everyone reads the plan and sticks to the plan, then asking hundreds of other people if your work will conflict with theirs is unnecessary.
CIG is building a house with no blueprints. It's no surprise when the sewer and fresh water lines get crossed and half the house has DC power outlets.

    • @Camural
      @Camural  2 месяца назад

@austinm5630 yes CIG doesn't even have a master plan yet, but documentation is a problem too.
New people are frustrated, they have not enough experienced leaders and cannot find good documentation, if it exists at all.
This doesn't exactly lead to a good and healthy code.

CIG needs a way out and they need it sooner than later. Everything that has been happening this year is intended to drive the playerbase away.
Once gone they dont have to deliver that which they know they cannot. And the money, well thats "gone" as well.

0:33 Couldn't they highlight only the small preview icon when dragging it across without having to do this MASSIVE (green) box and have it take up that much realestate in the UI.....and when you drop it in the left window then only have it take up as much space as the preview icon itself is big, but also put some small infotext next to the icon to show stats on how much space it's taking up so you won't have to slide the cursor across to see that info.
The bargraph at the top left showing how much capacity the lift has could be changed to be a bit more eye-catching...like, put it directly right of the text and make it as thick/wide as the text itself, but also with a different color for the outline (I hate this teal-color UI material)
While we're at it the size could be changed on all texts to become more easily readable, because there are already 4 different textsizes on the screen...FreightManager, the button texts, the capacity texts, local names (elevator/warehouse).
Reduce it to maybe only 2 different textsizes so we won't have to refocus so often.

And now it takes ages to move cargo all has to be done manually to a game that takes centuries to get going to begin with... And why does no one check the individual functionality of each ship.. No one at this sorry company checks their work.. Why??? Do they just all lie to each other and say yeah i did it and they say okay??? Keeping you out of your ship saves a HUGE amount of bandwidth.. See the bigger picture??

@Kadashir I haven't checked how many 24 SCU containers fit onto the freight elevator, but I am sure you can have a few.
There is lots of space in the game, lots and lots of empty boring space, so why not have 32 SCU freight elevators every where?
And if CIG doesn't want this because some strange idea of balance, fine, but then make sure we cannot buy goods in 32 SCU containers at outposts. It is that easy, but obviously not for CIG.

That is pretty bad - even for CIGs low standards. I am sure they will fix it "soon" ( aka not this year). Maybe they have so many issues with this release, that this one is just too low on their list. But I think this is very embarrassing. Question: If you purchase a 32 SCU container, can you at least change it back and get the goods you purchased in smaller containers?

    • @Camural

@dragonchild_SC Outposts do not buy back the cargo they are selling, not even at a loss for the player.
This 32 SCU container is now stuck in my Arccorp mining area 061 inventory until next big patch.
