Thanks, I wanted to change the polarity of a Panduit A/A cable and your video instruction was great. I had to use the pliers to release the catch and I had the same slight difficuly inserting the fibre head back into its sheath but I did what you said (jigling with the paper clip) and it popped right up! Then I pulled the outer cable sheet and the connector went home.

You didn't put the female pin spacer in after you removed the male pin clamp.

You have the video categorized as "Comedy," I don't think you are trying to be funny, are you?
You are proposing a very risky method for changing the gender of an optical MPO style connector.
    - You left out a female spacer, which would reduce the mating force significantly. In most cases, such reduction in mating force would cause IL and BR failures.
    - You are using the paper clip to guide the ferrule into the housing assembly ferrule opening. This would very easily cause damage to the ferrule end-face causing significant IL and BR failures.
You are best served to use proper tools that are readily available in industry. I can make some recommendation if you are interested.

I have the proper tools. Using the proper tools is always the recommended course of action. There is no spacer on these cables. I have worked on 1000's of them. When performed carefully, this method causes no harm as demonstrated by the 1000's of cables I've done it to in production situations. This video was to help people in a pinch. Thanks for your input.
