I ordered a pair from Amazon a couple days ago and after seeing this video I’m really proud to wear these boots. I had no idea how much skill and technique and sweat went into it and I’m glad they put the flag on them!
They are true artists in our factories. Thank you for trusting your feet in our boots, we are proud to make them for you. Enjoy the day! Thank you for the message.
Hate the synthetic welts on a lot of their boots tho. Sadly thorogood makes amazing boots, but I often go with other options because of the synthetic welts, where others have very comparable boots with leather welts.
I just ordered my 2nd pair of Thorogoods! you can buy nonsafety toe chinese knockoff boots for 100.00 dollars or pay 160.00 for the real deal by people who make a quality product and stand behind the product here in the USA. its a small price to pay to make sure our own stay working and the craftsmanship can't be beat.
Their website FAQs says that one-third of their shoes/boots are made overseas. They say they cannot compete by manufacturing in the U.S., which is ridiculous and false.
I'm a plumber in Phoenix and I have had over 10 pairs of the American Heritage Thorogood Boots and they are by far the best boot I have ever had. I am buying boots for my guys and I will only allow them to wear anything but Thorogood Boots. I have had every other major brand of boots and these are the only ones that don't kill my feet after a 20hr day.
Just bought a pair of Thorogood /Wood N Stream Classic American Roofers Boots, lace to toe. Not the less expensive wedge soles but the full on 1892 style in burgundy and brown 2 toned leather. The workmanship is dazzling, a level of handmade in USA craftsmanship that's almost a complete thing of the past. Pay for the quality and you save on the end because these things last forever.
Pommie-made Doc Martens last the longest, but Thorogoods are EASILY the comfiest and the easiest on the feet, and the best for your entire skeleton. Also, their soles are the easily the most grippy. They are easily my favourite boot ever. I just wish the grippy sole would last a bit longer than my first pair, but then again I was doing a lot of welding and walking the steel swarf and I gave them a very hard time. They lasted almost 4 years, and I gave them absolute hell. If I was using them casually, they might last more than 5 years of every day use. Thanks for the video. It was very interesting to see just exactly how handmade these are.
i am using Thorogood Men's American Heritage 6'' toe. the quality is superior, feels cool and comfortable. orders two more as a gifts today for my 2 of my best friends after they were amaze how my boot is well made and how the craftsmanship from Thorogood
Skilled US craftsmen is right- ordered my first pair of made in the USA Thorogood’s (American Heritage Wellington Wedge) instead of something cheaper and foreign made. Looking forward to a quality boot that will last for years!
I got some thorogood boots recently. Put some conditioner and waterproofed on them. They have darkened are look awesome. There comfortable and little break in time. I will be getting more in future.
Not just Union made, not just American made, not just high quality and super comfortable, but GOODYEAR WELT - people, that means they can be resoled over and over and a pair can last you decades! These boots are an investment in yourself. Best boots I’ve ever owned. I tossed my timberlands into the trash and put my wolverines on a shelf for “just in case.”
Just ordered my first pair of Thorogood boots. I've chosen the Heritage Moc Toe Wedge sole in Black Walnut leather and a black wedge. I think they look amazing, I'm hoping the comfort and craftsmanship match the look. I'm proud to buy them as they are American made my only regret is I haven't bought Thorogoods until now.I had a hard time deciding which ones to purchase but their us an easy solution you that, I'll buy them all eventually. I left Red Wing about 10 years ago and I only buy Thorogood Boots. I've recommended this brand to others and now they only buy Thorogood Boots. Great boot at a great price....👍

just got a pair, day 1 in them was rough, they were killing my feet to the point where I was taking them off to give my feet a rest and re adjust the sole and laces etc. it wasn't blister pain, it was tendon pain almost like fatigue and pressure point pain on top of my right foot that was shooting down into my big toe knuckle where I couldn't move my big toe without massive pain on the top of my foot. It got to the point where I wasn't walking normal and almost half way limping.. I also had some bruise pain from the tongue folded on my left ankle bone which I didn't hardly notice because of my right foot hurting so bad. After about half the day I didn't have to re adjust anymore because I think the boot was forming to my foot. After day 1 the boots already feel much better but man oh man, day 1 was a rough one, almost to the point where I was going to drive home to get my other boots lol.... I am nervous about day 2, but after day 1 they felt 100x better, still not where I want them to be but I feel they will get there with a few more full work days, I also put my other boot sole into these boots to hopefully help with the wear in process seeing how these soles already have my foot shape. I am coming from redback slip on mechanic boots that by design are a looser boot. I'm assuming after 9 years of wearing slip on boots my feet are just not used to being snugged up with laces. I don't mean to leave something negative here, but I will come back to update this as I wear these boots more if I remember. Btw the shoes I bought are thorogood 1957 series 6" moc toe maxwear wedge waterproof non-safety toe briar pitstop boots. I have lived in Wisconsin for 30 years and never knew there was a work boot manufacturer in the state. I bought my first pair 2 weeks ago and wish I would have bought Thorogood when I started working decades ago. I only discovered Thorogood because they sponsored Oktoberfest at the Point Brewery this year. I’ve walked up and down the aisles at Fleet Farm, Rogans, and even Redwing. I’m sick of seeing Made in China on everything. I really think Thorogood needs to step up their awareness marketing. Damn good boots.
I ordered a pair of 8” moc toe boots & unfortunately had to send them back. One boot fit like a completely different size - visibly different widths. I’m optimistic to try another pair this winter because the materials seem top quality.
To Thorogood. My first pair of boots ever from you guys were the 6 in loggers they are a cancelled product now and man they were not that great . I just bought the black 6 in. Those loggers are staying in the closet . Good job on this line of boots. They are awesome
As an apprentice always taking orders, constantly active... these boots will last you bout 1 year tops, but something that will definitely help them last alot longer is coating the toe area with shoe glue for less damage on the leather part of the toe which is what usually wears out the fastest, that's just my take as an apprentice, other than that these are some of the best work boots & also most stylish I would say I have ever owned, these are my permanent go to work boots, wish I could have 100 pair of these for work & also just for casual wear....
Sosa Mendez Even redwings will wear out the toe if you are on your knees a lot. Redwing sells some stuff in a jar to put on the toe of the boot to prevent wearing out the toes, but it needs to be reapplied often.
I've used these boots for the past 9 years, When i first bought them they were like 60 dollars now they've gone up to a couple hundred. I'm a Ironworker by trade and these boots are the Absolute best boot to have for walking the Iron, Iron workers prefer to have them made without the steel shank, safer to have that out as you can feel the edge of the iron beneath your feet. The sole I have noticed is soft and wears well and grips very well, unlike the cheaper brands that are made of a poly plastic, also the sole seems to stick better when it is wet, so if your walking across a smooth finished concrete floor and its wet you won't slip. The sole will actually grip better. But All in All, these are the perfect Boot to Wear and there Union Made and that Means Quality! " Cheap Quality isn't good and Good Quality isn't Cheap" ;)

Having had my first taste of real american boots with some Red Wings, I am really keen to try out some of your moc toes too.... Unfortunately the prices over here in the Uk aren't as great value as in the US.... Would you like to send me a pair for review? ;)
I purchased my first pair of Thorogood boots today. I am hopefull that they will live up to my expectations. As I am on my feet 10 hours out of a 12 hour shift. I need boots that are as rugged as I am. I like buying American made products, Made by proud American labor Union Members. I'm politically conservative. But I am also a proud Native American Steel Workers Union Member, USW 13-1.✊
I purchased a pair of their moc toe boots about a month ago and honestly felt proud for doing so. I’ve been wearing the boots daily since and while I do really like the look and feel about a week ago I noticed both boots had started cracking and even split apart at the welts close to the inside heel area. After further inspection I noticed they used some type of plastic or polymer material for the welts instead of leather like other manufacturers of boots in the same price range use which seemed strange but assumed it must usually hold up and work well or else they wouldn’t use it. The split got a little wider so I sent customer service a email telling them about what I was going through and also asked if this was relatively common, was it something that should concern me and why exactly do they use anything besides leather for the welts? I would’ve definitely expected at the least some type of explanation if not an apology for what happened and offering to at least inspect the boots to make them right fixing the issue if it was needed to insure the life of the boots. The reply I received blew me away and did nothing but skate all around my questions with absolutely no explanation, apologies or the desire to inspect the boots. All they gave was pretty much a well that happens and now you’ve gotta deal with it attitude. As much as it pains me to say this I’ll NEVER purchase another pair of boots from this company again hell will freeze over first and that’s a real shame. They owe it to all the hard working Americans they employ to stand behind the product their so proud to be able to make and they also owe us the buyer a hellova lot more appreciation and gratitude.
I bought a pair of 814-4200 about a month ago . I’m undecided at the moment. They fit perfect for a week or so. Seems like the more I wear them the worst they fit. I’d expect more from $250 pair of boots. Maybe I just got a bad pair. Idk
Does anybody know what the 5 Numbers mean on the right side of produced by lettering ? Some boots have the number some boots are blank i’m curious on what that number means
I had the same problem. Just returned to midwest boot for an exchange. That pair was uneven too. But I did just buy a second pair in brown and they're perfect

I currently own the Hellfire boots I’ve had them for about 2 years and used them throughout my EMT program I really like them. I’ve really been in love with the design of the STATION 1 - EMS/WILDLAND BOOT, and I noticed no one has done a review video on them yet would the Thorogood team be interested in sending me a pair of the Station 1 boots in exchange for a review video? I will be wearing them throughout the whole Academy this coming fall. And will give my review on them when the academy is over, Hope to hear from you soon god bless.

Idk
Would love to try these boots it’s just that my redwings just seem to last forever so I might not ever get around to it. Loll
Thank you for letting us know. When you are ready we’ll be here.
Does anybody know what the 5 Numbers mean on the right side of produced by lettering ? Some boots have the number some boots are blank i’m curious on what that number means

I love my boots but y'all need to work on QC, when I was trying on different boots 2 pairs of the exact same size and model fit completely different.
I had the same problem. Just returned to midwest boot for an exchange. That pair was uneven too. But I did just buy a second pair in brown and they're perfect
Hello team Thorogood, my name is Johnny Magallanez. I’m a RUclipsr who documents his journey going into the fire service.
