Rental Pokemon always were and always will be shite. Like you said this is Nintendo's way of saying buy the handheld games to make the most out of these games. That said I managed to beat Stadium 1 and 2 using Rentals aka with a high degree of difficulty so it definitely isn't impossible but it's definitely a lot more fun using your own Pokemons (obviously) Try beating Battle Revolution with Rentals, the Rental Pokemon there are even worse or at least I think they are.
Unfortunately, that is indeed the requirements. Round 2 is incredibly difficult to play through, so the frustration is understandable. It's no wonder people play the GB games on roms anymore, so they can speed up the gameplay.
I was playing a REAL GB till yesterday, I finally beat R2 of both Pokémon. With a REAL N64... The most difficult thing that I have did playing videogames.
JetForce STILL holds up very well to this day. The stick & c-buttons combo makes it control as if you have two sticks. Which for a shooter, these days, is a NECESSITY lol. Jet Force Gemini is in my Top-5 games of all time. I still go back and play it every couple yrs

I loved fighting all the different big ass insect bosses and my favorite character was the dog, I remember they he had like jetpacks on his feet that allowed him to hover.......but man I kinda hated those tribe people that you had to rescue.....Another great masterpiece by Rare.....

I never can beat round 1 all i need is to beat master cup in the prime cup i think i always lose on the last guy. i cant beat him the closest that i got was when i was one attack away from winning. but i still absulotly love this game
It's not entirely your fault, the AI in this game is insane. I have some battles in the really late rounds of this game that regularly take upwards of 20 minutes. You should check out Werster's channel, he's a speedrunner who does this game and there's very few things in Pokémon he can't figure out. He even gets awful luck in his playthroughs. He speedruns the the game in its entirety with rentals.
I came here wondering how to change the background of the Gameboy tower. I had watched a video a long time ago telling me that you could not increase the speed of the second generation games in the Gameboy tower, so I had written that off. I was sitting in front of red on round two.. I now have double speed for my silver version. Thank you

That's not a bad idea, here's my suggestion: Scizor (Baton Pass, Swords Dance, Steel Wing), Marowak (Bone Club + Baton Pass), Aerodactyl, Raikou, Snorlax (Belly Drum) Wobbuffett/Misdreavus/Gengar. Raikou is worth the upgrade over Ninetales but Starmie and Zapdos are good too. If you have Pokémon Box and a 3DS, Virtual Console Crystal has the Celebi event programmed into it. If not, you'd have to perform the Coin Case glitch on GSC, you don't need a cheating device to do it.

2x speed is because doduo has 2 heads and 3x is because Dodrio has 3 heads. Simple as that

Round 2 is Hard Mode. The opponents will now use better Pokemon that are built to their maximum potential while remaining under regulations, which means that rental Pokemon no longer stand a chance. I think in stadium 1, mew has 225 stats.
What about if you get trough the round 2?
So new backrournds, Faster speed, mew and celepeed, Vs rival mode, farfetch ability, glaigar, very hard difficalty, extra info, reteach a pokemon, and faceing RED. it took you 17 minouts, i could have done this in 2. otherwise , ok video

That's not a bad idea, here's my suggestion: Scizor (Baton Pass, Swords Dance, Steel Wing), Marowak (Bone Club + Baton Pass), Aerodactyl, Raikou, Snorlax (Belly Drum) Wobbuffett/Misdreavus/Gengar. Raikou is worth the upgrade over Ninetales but Starmie and Zapdos are good too.
If you have Pokémon Box and a 3DS, Virtual Console Crystal has the Celebi event programmed into it. If not, you'd have to perform the Coin Case glitch on GSC, you don't need a cheating device to do it.
Its a pathway to fight your Rival. Hes SUPER tough. Awesome battle though. :)
