I used to live in Barry and Penarth, when in Barry I lived about 50 yards from the Gavin & Stacey house. In Penarth I was opposite Cosmeston Lakes, you would have passed them. When I was young we used to Water Ski along the coast from Penarth Pier towards the Captains wife Pub. You have brought back some great memories for me. I can also remember the odd Steam Locos parked in Barry docks in the early 80's. Tomorrow I'm going to retrace your route, you've inspired me, nice video thank you.
It looks like the gap in the wall at the Captains Wife has been added to in recent years to stop what we were hoping to do. I hope the weather improves for you tomorrow.
Another great episode, left us with a will they wont they situation. I guessed a while ago number 80 would end the series but I am glad there is more to come.
We had a look and it was too busy to film. It's a great story isn't it? It was just set back from the front as well! For many years it was part of the attraction for the holiday makers.
Recently erected signage naming ..WATCHTOWER BAY ... as.. WATCH HOUSE BAY.. Locals are not amused that someone decided to rename the centuries known area !! Nice video.. just subscribed 😊
Thank you Roger. We really appreciate it when locals add to and even correct our commentary and titles. We're very reliant on the internet and it's not always the best source! Welcome aboard.
Ever since watching Gavin & Stacey we’ve wanted to visit Barry Island, haven’t been yet though 😢. You’ll defo sneak through the cycle way 😎 Good to see Mutley back 🎉
@@greatbritishbikingadventures yep defo saw Mutley back. You must of read my comment before I’d added the Mutley bit on the end. I write the comment as I’m watching the vid otherwise I’ll miss stuff 😂
Good morning my dears, again i'm late due to playing golf yesterday with our two sons, boy am i aching today! Down the cycle way brushing all aside. All those engines being saved was awesome, wonder what it is that has such an affect on us regarding the old steam engines ? Thanks again for sharing. Enjoy your weekend TTFN.
I am soooooo tempted to do a 'Steve McQueen' and make a dash to the other side. It is a lovely story about the scrap yard, for many years it was part of the Barry experience. There's a round-a-bout and a Nandos there now🙄😁

Not sure about the CCTV! A while ago we thought it would be no more 70 episodes!!! What's guess now Richard?
Hmm maybe 2 to 3 episodes
I think it might be more like 5!!!
Very informative. I know that the end is nigh so will just enjoy what’s still to come.
Yes, we are nearly there...at last!!!
Oh, a cliffhanger ending. It's Probably easier to squeeze through that cycleway than the one from the pub to the fancy house.
It's only a cycle path, what harm can it do?
WHAT! You didn't visit the famous cafe,
Great vid yet again, and such lovely story about the steam trains

Another one to add to your long list! Did you see Mutley had a friend this time?

Look again, Mutley has a friend with him!
