Hello, I am a colombian student of enviromental engineering and am here because i'm learning how you handle with your trash and also learning english. Greetings for all of you.
Your being fooled trust me .get in touch for the real things that go on at veolia. Including there own transport management getting suspended for drug use
15 years .your being taken for idiots .they had me piking up contaminated bins all day long if I said they didn't contain correct substances I was made to feel like outcast .and told just take it .bloody company is full of shit .I will go to court and lay my life on it so help me god 🙏 veolia Southwark biggest lying scum .I still don't work on antidepressants all because of this company
Great job Veolia! Smart companies, like Veolia, organized communities and aligned government policy with AI robotics will expedite turning the tide on trash. We're excited because this here is an example of how we now can roll out our renewable WtE innovation project.
Something that helped me apreciate some undervalued jobs is when somebody told me that plumbers save more lives than doctors.. i wonder how many lives the bin man saves....
Developing a program to reduce contamination in plastic recycling is crucial to produce high-quality recyclate suitable for drink storage. Here's a multi-step program to achieve this: 1. Education and Awareness: - Educate consumers about proper plastic recycling practices. - Raise awareness about the impact of contamination on plastic recycling. 2. Improved Sorting and Collection: - Implement advanced sorting technologies (e.g., optical scanners, AI-powered sorting). - Enhance collection infrastructure to separate plastics by type. 3. Cleaning and Processing: - Develop efficient cleaning systems to remove contaminants (e.g., labels, caps, residue). - Implement advanced processing technologies (e.g., shredding, pelletizing). 4. Quality Control: - Establish strict quality control measures to detect and remove contaminants. - Implement regular testing and monitoring to ensure high-quality recyclate. 5. Closed-Loop Production: - Collaborate with drink manufacturers to design packaging with recyclability in mind. - Ensure recycled plastic meets food-grade standards for drink storage. 6. Certification and Standards: - Establish industry-wide certification programs for plastic recyclers. - Develop and enforce standards for plastic recycling and recyclate quality. 7. Research and Development: - Continuously invest in R&D to improve recycling technologies and processes. - Explore new technologies and materials to enhance recyclability and sustainability. 8. Policy and Regulation: - Advocate for policies and regulations supporting plastic recycling and recyclability. - Encourage extended producer responsibility and product design for recyclability. 9. Collaboration and Partnerships: - Foster partnerships among plastic recyclers, drink manufacturers, and suppliers. - Encourage knowledge sharing, best practices, and joint innovation. 10. Continuous Monitoring and Improvement: - Regularly assess and refine the program to address emerging challenges and opportunities. - Encourage consumer feedback and participation in the recycling process. By implementing this comprehensive program, we can significantly reduce contamination in plastic recycling, produce high-quality recyclate, and ensure the safe use of recycled plastic for drink storage.
Most people don't know the difference between paper.plastic and metal. So they keep putting the wrong items wrong bins.We are way behind other European countries in how we recycle things.
Veoila is a company that has a fake image of what they are doing.I see them in the High Street trying to remove the bubble gum from the pavements. Two men take weeks to remove it.And it will all come back because you have not stopped the people that drop it in the first place.
I’d love to know more about where these bales go - how are they being transformed and where ! It’s a great feeling to put more in your recycling bin than general waste but then you see images of these bales being shipped to the third world and it’s v disheartening
yeah I work for Grass roots and we do the same thing but with farm waste, these bales get sold off or you can put them through a wash plant and shred them into pieces and then it constantly gets washed and washed until it's small gell pellets that then get put into machine that puts it back into a plastic bottle or whatever you want.
Not sure there was much new useful advice; I was hoping to hear about things like recycling of crisp packets and yoghurt cartons and what you should do with take away food containers, and why polystyrene packaging isn't accepted.
At the end of the day we need to stop using plastic as much as we possibly can, buy items that are not packaged in it, buys items made from other materials. Not always easy, I know, but that is the answer.
Veolia has been useless for us, not collected in over a month, and the customer service is useless, ( Regional manager does not answer his calls, or get back to messages )
@@sharonthecatswhiskers1127 Because they don't. It's all bulls... there are different types of plastic, recyclable and non-recyclable, people get them all mixed up as nearly nobody pays attention to small number inside recycling sign which indicates how easy it is to recycle it, only type 1,2 are widely recycled, rest is only recyclable in certain sites or non recyclable at all and who is going to spend millions to sort this whole shit out? Only 13% gets recycled because they don't want to waste money on sorting and recycling it, and want to make money producing more and selling... It's refreshing to see a Director from a company doing some easy to understand explaining.
Thanks Veolia

Welcome! Thank you for watching. We hope you enjoy our other videos too :)
Hi! Hope you had a great time.
Wow. I have been inside this amazing facility. Thanks for covering this.

This comes from a good place but it didn’t really explain what goes on inside a recycling centre
Because most of it is burnt.Or dumped in green fields. Its all a big con.Like electric batteries that explode when wet.

So where all this ends? Dig in soil? And why not use glass bottles instead of plastic?
We all live in the same boat.

Cool
No subtitles and a muffled soundtrack ? Forget it.
What happens when your bin gets taken away? It's gets shipped abroad. 🚢

French accent, overly loud "background" music. Closed captions would be just great. Thanks.
Recycling means reusing old material to make something new. I don't see any recycling at this plant.

This is amazing, Africa have to adapt this b'se plastic has been the burden in Africa

The manager in a drug smugglers from Kosovo. He calls it medical supliments.
if only at home in all of Pakistan we can also have a waste sorting machine. 😭😭😭😭
It's never bone more or less in London properly by residence and councils don't follow up on this
This is not a recycling centre all they are doing is sorting and baling, where is it recycled?
Each material needs to be recycled in a different location specific to each material
