I watched this song when I was in Mumbai, since then I keep searching it but couldn't find it as I don't know the name of the song. Tonight I got it. I love you guys...
So hear me out here. I'm a lad from Manipur. Back when i was in high school in 2005 our class went on a trip to Moreh, the border town between India & Myanmar. Met a lady Burmese shopkeeper there about my age, immediately fell for her. We couldn't communicate properly 'cos of the language barrier but boy, i hung around her shop all day while my friends went places. The next day, when it was time to leave, I stopped by her store and gave her a note in English with my address hoping that someday it would be answered. Of course the reply never came. But that's not the whole story here. Back then this music was very popular. Not knowing where it came from (wasn't using the internet back then) i assumed that the song was Burmese and so whenever it came on the television, I used it to remind me of the Burmese girl. The song still reminds me of her after all these years. Then in 2016 when i got posted to Shillong for my job, i heard the song again and learnt that it was a Khasi song. Imagine my surprise! A song i had associated with a Burmese girl for a decade wasn't even Burmese 😀 Anyways, that's my story with this song. I'm sure you all have your own wonderful stories too.
