Demolay was a great experience growing up. Every lodge should look to support this organization, along with the groups for young women such as the Triangle, Job's Daughters and International Order of the Rainbow.

My one regret as a 43 year active Mason was that I was never a DeMolay. Dad moved us to a part of MA that did not have much active DeMolay when I was 14. Later, after my 1st year in college where I joined a fraternity founded by a Mason, I met a few DeMolay. I asked them to tell me about DeMolay. I was 19 and was surprised when they excitedly told me that it was a fraternity for high school boys. Wrong thing to say to interest a young man who was in a college fraternity. I joined Masonry at 22 and a couple of years later I was asked to be the Chapter Dad for a DeMolay Chapter - which I did for several years. Then, understanding DeMolay, I was sad that I never did join.

Thank you so much for highlighting our youth organizations! As a proud DeMolay advisor and mother of a Master Councilor - and current Grand Guardian for Job’s Daughters (can’t wait for that interview!) - I truly believe these young people are the key to our future. They learn at an early age the importance of giving back to their communities, the concept of servant leadership and how to be upstanding citizens. If you value the tenets you have learned in your own Masonic memberships, you owe it to the young people in your life to introduce them to the Masonic youth organizations. There is life-changing work happening every day in these Chapters, Bethels and Assemblies. Thank you for bringing attention to these worthy groups.
