Please understand that hair braiding DOES NOT take your hair out in bulks. Your hair sheds daily, and if you don't comb your hair for days/weeks/months it would stand that the hair you comb out after removing your braids will equate to what would come out daily over that same period of time! With the exception if your hair is bone dry or you have a health condition... By the way her hair is absolutely gorgeous. If I didn't watch her remove her braids I wouldn't think she didn't just do her hair. Very lovely🤗

If you don't take care of your hair, if you don't keep it moisturized including with water, if you have certain medical conditions, etc. your hair can and will shed more frequently and you'll experience breakage.

Growing up, I never understood why it was such a big deal for my black classmates to go get their hair done. Now that I’ve grown up and been able to see videos like this one, it gives me a whole new appreciation for the time, energy, and money it takes for Black women to look so damn fierce. Next time get a liquid detangler to apply to hair after removing each braid. Comb out hair with a wide tooth comb. Use a rat-tailed comb to begin unplaiting the ends of the hair.

The first time I took out my braids, I waited to comb until they were all out. When I finally washed my hair there was so much shed hair left that it all tangled up and I had 2 nickel sized knots in my hair! I was devastated and ended up damaging so much of my hair in the process of detangling those knots. I had wads of hair in the trash by the time I finished. It was horrible!

If you have trouble taking oil out your clothes you can put dawn dish liquid on the oil spot then wash your clothes and it comes out but you gotta use the blue dawn dish liquid

Your natural hair is so beautiful! It’s so long and full. I think it’s gorgeous. I’m mixed. Both my parents are half Puerto Rican but my mother has blonde hair, blue eyes and freckles. My father had natural hair and unfortunately being mixed, products my dad used didn’t work to well for my hair and products my mother used didn’t work well for my hair either. I’ve wanted to try box braids but have always worried after the culture appropriation and such and have always wondered if I can pull it off or if I would get crap for it (I’ve been called by many the “whitest Spanish girl” they’ve ever met) that’s always bothered me because I’ve always tried to explain I’m mixed. (In case your wondering, i have similar complexion with dark brown hair and brown eyes) so to watch this video and you being so proud of your hair is so wonderful to watch because I’ve grown up having a love/hate relationship with my hair because I love my curls, but they’re hard to control and I get crazy frizz and it took years for me to find products that work for my hair. I just wanted to say Thank you for being so real. You are so inspirational and so beautiful.
Tip for getting oil off of your clothes: but some salt and/or soda on the stain, on both sides, and then a super dry cotton ball/pad on both sides, and the put the item of clothing someplace warm, so that the oil will get more liquid-y and it will be easier for the salt/soda to absorb it. Washing those never works because oil and water don’t mix. Leave the item for at least an hour, or more if you want, and then when it’s all done, pour robbing alcohol on the stain, soak it and THEN wash it. You can even change the salt, soda and cotton every few hours and re-do them so that the old salt/soda that absorbed the oil wouldn’t be sitting there. Sound like a lot but it’s actually really simple. Be careful with the salt and rubbing alcohol though, some fabrics are really gentle.

That's not a lot of shedding at all. Your hair is long so it's gonna look like a lot more than most people because most people don't have that much hair in braids. That's like comparing 20 inches balled up next to 6 inches balled up. It's gonna be different. Same amount of strands and it's still gonna look like more in the 20 inch pile. Your hair appears very healthy and I see no signs of thinning or bald spots so I see no reason for concern at all. I have very coarse coilly disrespectful hair that may be a tad bit longer than yours and my hair sheds like that too after protective styling. I have scarring in the front that is barely noticeable from lupus but even with that my hair is still really healthy. If shedding was a problem I'd certainly be bald and I am not. Protective styling actually helped save my hair and helped me retain my length past shoulder length. Just about waist length now.
I wash my hair about once a week and get a huge amount of shedding, so if your hair isn’t being brushed for a month there will be shedding! It’s totally normal but usually your hair sheds when you don’t notice. I love these videos of removing braids, it’s so satisfying?!!
If your hair is nappy when u take it down it's good to wash it then while the soaps is in it u put it in a pony tail and comb it(still with the soap) it does hurt AT ALL😍
Instead of soap try conditioner Shampoo is only for the scalp and because its drying you don't want to leave it on your ends like that That's the same method I use tho%)

That's like comparing 20 inches balled up next to 6 inches balled up. It's gonna be different. Same amount of strands and it's still gonna look like more in the 20 inch pile. Your hair appears very healthy and I see no signs of thinning or bald spots so I see no reason for concern at all. I have very coarse coilly disrespectful hair that may be a tad bit longer than yours and my hair sheds like that too after protective styling. I have scarring in the front that is barely noticeable from lupus but even with that my hair is still really healthy. If shedding was a problem I'd certainly be bald and I am not. Protective styling actually helped save my hair and helped me retain my length past shoulder length. Just about waist length now.

I wash my hair about once a week and get a huge amount of shedding, so if your hair isn’t being brushed for a month there will be shedding! It’s totally normal but usually your hair sheds when you don’t notice. I love these videos of removing braids, it’s so satisfying?!!

If your hair is nappy when u take it down it's good to wash it then while the soaps is in it u put it in a pony tail and comb it(still with the soap) it does hurt AT ALL😍

Shampoo is only for the scalp and because its drying you don't want to leave it on your ends like that

You are not supposed to comb build up out you are actually supposed to soak it so that it doesn’t pull out your hair. Combing it will pull out your hair.

I'm caucasian, and i've always wanted fluffy hair like yours. Sometimes i wish i could have it instead of my straight damaged mass of roman noodles. My hair is naturally kinda curvy in the back, its big loops like beach waves almost. I also bleached my hair, so my black roots are growing out more.
