    RAMP is a community project running in June, aimed at encouraging beginners to try mapping for Doom! Anyone is welcome to join, and I would love to see what you make.
    Today's maps:
    MAP301: What in the name of... (crazy 1 hour speedmap) - Amiga Angel

    Didn't have time to make a proper map this year. Still wanted to participate in RAMP so I threw this together in an afternoon. I kinda like the mysterious vibe I created here, I think I'll reuse this theme for my next year's map.

    Must confess that ghostly giant cuddly toys.... soo creepy 😨😆
    I'm not surprised David just IDDQDed HiRon's map. That first room took me a while and then I couldn't do the other other rooms. Really enjoyed it though.

    The audio stuttering on the first level has to be something with the *type* of portal they used. It was only from other videos that I personally learned that the Eternity-style static portals work better (and somewhat more consistently) than the other portal types.
    The portals are probably set as interactive portals which, from what I know, are jankier than the static portals.
    Then again, that's for UDMF format, and I have no clue on anything beyond that. (I only started this Doom modding stuff around Doom I + II's release lol)

      I've had similar things happen with my own maps. I think the problem is that sound doesn't travel through portals - it propagates through sectors, so if your portal destination is a long way across the map (or completely separate), it's silent on the other side.

      I am sure the no music and weird sound glitches due to the portals are intentional since the map references the legendary sky may be map

    Hi! I just got a new PC because my old one stopped working and I dont know a safe place to find these downloads. Could you provide me with the link as there isnt one on the ramp website anymore? Thanks! (I mean the download link for the starter pack you put on the website in june)

    In Playthroughs 47 you mentioned the Cube movie. It's a lot more appropriate in this one (Cube II perhaps) :D

    Love these videos. It’s nice to hear another Scottish voice.
    You mentioned in one of the recent videos that you’d made a “Vegetation Pack”. Is that still available somewhere?

    I know this can be easily checked by loading the pk3 but I'm on my phone right now, so I'm just going to ask: how many maps are there in this?

      Well at least according to the map numbers in the video you are reasonably close to finishing playing all of them 😆
      Can't wait for next year with 500 maps.

      ​@@andrewdwilliams That's why I phrased my comment the way I did, "according to the map numbers in this video". That is, if you look at just those numbers and nothing else, you would assume he's almost done.
      I don't know how many maps were skipped because they hadn't been finished yet, so that's why I chose the words "reasonably close" instead of just "close", because I am well aware that he's not necessarily as close as those numbers might suggest.
      That said, if I were to make a wild guess, I'd say he's probably played somewhere between 80% and 90% of all the maps. Of course that's just a guess and I could be way off.
      EDIT: welp he's said there are 55 maps left, which is about 17% of 311. That means the maps that he's already featured in his videos account for more than 83% of the maps in the project, and he's almost definitely played more since he recorded the latest video, so it turns out my guess was pretty good.
