    this is glorious! The atmosphere, the music is amazing. The units look really fun. The two factions look very different which is a very important aspect a lot of modern rts games miss. Not only do they look different but have vastly different tech which is fantastic. I can't wait to see more. Honestly this is the C&C i hoped cnc 4 had been.

    Man, the music is KILLER. It's SO good. Watching the gameplay strongly reminds me of Command & Conquer 3. (Which is a good thing, that game was baller. Actually super excited for this.).

      I know right ! The music is on a different level, and takes the experience to a new height. C&C 3 was one of my favorite C&C games as well, I've played all the C&C games since it was launched back in 1995. Imagine if Mick Gordon was asked to collaborate on one of the soundtracks in the future, that'd be insane. Can't wait for Tempest Rising to launch :D

      C&c 3 was the best, especially Kane's wrath, I still even play it on console it was that good, I could never understand EAs decision to ruin it by bringing us the changes in c&c 4, then even worse cancelling the game that was due afterwards

    Okay, I am definitely SCARED that this will end up like Grey Goo and Crossfire Legion. Couple points:
    1. People want PvE. Campaigns work, but repeatable content like Starcraft Co-op is something to look into. Personally I'm looking at Path of Exile's League system where they introduce new ways to play the game every 3 months but that's a very deep game.
    2. If you don't want rushes to happen, give every building a machine gun. Worked for the Orkz in Dawn of War 1.
    3. If you want some way to scout early on then just give the factions an unarmed Scout Drone that can zoom around the battlefield looking for oddities (take inspiration from Dune Spice Wars?).
    4. Tempest is definitely Tiberium, but we already know Tiberium. How is Tempest different?

    The HUD icons, building explosions and some of shooting sounds could use some work, but so far really liking what I see.

    not sure i see anything too special here but will see when it comes out i guess. 2023 i’m looking for something to surpass generals, something a little more complex. I think these games need to have more building/special ability options at least 20-30 in each category to keep things interesting.

    Looks, feels and sounds awesome! Would be cool if the machine gun fire would have a bit more crack to it. Looking forward to the full release! Oh and on another note, would you guys consider a Supreme Commander style game with these realistic/modern military looking unit design where 1000s of units are battling it out?

    really like the environment, ambience. perfect coloring and quite clear. Do tank have some autofire toggle for when moving cuz 7:09 looks weird not firing, also 7:07 tank weirdly positions instead of attacking the building(maybe missclick on the building or camera direction), 7:14 tried to attack move/ move attack but didn't work. music's fire

      I think you need to toggle the attack command so some units will auto-fire on the move (based on the bottom left icons). Under the move command, I doubt that they will auto-attack anything at sight without the attack being toggled on.

    Finally new footage. Feedback: The buildings blend with the map textures well enough to not to feel "out of place or hovering" but units blend toooo good, which make them a bit hard to spot on the eye if not selected. It could be the video recording though. Idk. Just how i see it now. Overall 10/10

      I'd say keep Infantry unit's base area the same, but shrink the model by 25%. A tad large relative to everything. And add some small lamps on them. Like an antenna with a flasher on top just like turrets and some vehicles have. The Dynsasty especially needs that I think.
      But either way, a building/unit contour option would be great, unless the game wishes to implement actual camouflaging.

    I was looking for a new gameplay video for months. Finally we got it. Thanks.
    I loooooove the attention to details on every unit. Unit movements, vehicle suspension bouncing, tank guns recoils, lights on vehicles and so much more.
    I love the atmosphere with the dark and a bit serious theme. Really hated Red alert 3 cartoony style in contrast to Tiberium wars amazing theme.
    Love the music soooo much.
    Love how the tempest looks and feels like.
    Truly love the direction the game is heading as I grew up with CNC and Starcraft (34 years old now).
    Also love the focus on Campaign since I am always scared to play multiplayer due to so many pro players.
    Can't wait for a Dynasty gameplay and maybe a playable beta.
    A few suggestions:
    - Maybe adding infantry crush animation instead of them just falling since I see there is blood and gore already, so why not go all the way.
    - Buildings exploding can use some of UE4 potential maybe instead of just a ball of fire and some pieces flying. Maybe larger pieces of them collapsing down on themselves giving you the feel of a heavy structure instead of paper.
    - And maybe scale down infantry size 20%? (Maybe it's too late for this one)
    I am not trying to be negative of course as I love the game so much already. I just have so much passion for this game and genre.
    Please take your time with this. It can be extremely successful.

    I like what im seeing right now.
    I like the take on the resource mechanic, mining out everything early on might not be the best approach it seems. It may also enforce proper expanding into other areas.
    Additinal option with drone infantry allowing for scouting? Seems decent, no more charging blindly into enemy areas.
    I saw different sabotage options after Engineer unit entered the refinery, "Recall harvesters" and "dismantle refinery" - i like that. There is a lot of potential in different types of sabotages it seems.
    My guess on Tempest charge - Sentinels were accumulating the electric charge (7:33) and i think its a debuff, further possibly confirmed by Sensor Array applying it to enemy vehicles - guess you stand too long in the field and your units will be inactive and/or die? I think im not that far off with this guess. This also makes me wonder: will there be units that can utilize Tempest charge buildup in buffing/enhancing/positive way?
    I already like Trebuchets aswell, but im also hoping for some designated support party member units for utility twats like me.
    Overall, i have high hopes. Looking forward to trying it out.

      its a great way to make early rushing not the only tactic. If you fail a rush ur in for some hard times.

    I loved this! Thank you for showing us this sneak peek at PvP gameplay. The gears are already turning on what strategies I could use with these units. The art and special effects team really did a great job with the map and unit/base designs.

    Can you rotate buildings when you place them? Walls, I guess they block movement but do they have other effects like damage reduction to nearby allied units/buildings?

    My comment is that i hear the generic "yes sir moving sir" kind of unit lines,
    I hope you get more inspired with the voiceline direction of Command and Conquer particularly that of command and conquer generals, with memorable lines such as:
    "I. AM. BIG."
    "Made in the US of A!"
    "Behold, the bringer of light!"
    "Nothing stops the mail!"

    What the C&C community has been wanting for years but never got it until now! I see the games too in the video and where the inspiration came from! Definitely Tiberium Wars vibes with the setting and hidden third (Alien/Vines I'm guessing) 😉 faction and it's gonna be awesome! Can't wait to play! 😁

    It has some potential, need a lot of polishing. Vehicles slides on terrain and feel like made of paper, even tanks. Production of units missing endless loop of production, like make light and heavy tanks indefinitely in ratio 3:2 . resources money, headcount are too small numbers. Also graphics lack shadows. fake refection of front lights of sentinel is embarrassing. Vehicle clips, or even pass thru each other, that is game-breaker. "Beyon All Reason" game is much better in every aspect and is for free, think about it.

    Tank design of both factions looks basic and kinda underwhealming. I mean looks at С&C3 tank design and how different it is from faction to faction. Or even better, look at tiberian sun. Those vehicles with MG's. Their effects and sound does not pack a punch either. As well as gatling turrets at base. I mean they look great. But when they start firing, its just meh. From the effect, to damage dealt.

      its very interesting because if you decide to go for a rush tactic, and it doesn't work ur going to be in a really bad place for awhile because ur ore tempest ore hasn't matured. There may be quite a strong case for camping early and holding out. I can see a lot of strats already.

    So how is expansions going to work? As you say it ws a 1 hour game and both kinda bunkered up in a small nest, do we have MCV for late game expansion or basecrawling with power plants/silos, or do we actually have expansion units like we got in C&C3 and RA3? I love the graphics and atmosphere and the spread of vines and tempest (tiberium), but I kinda get a slowpaced Generals 2 feeling from the gameplay (and I was never a fan of Generals), for example the light vehicles cutting through trees, that's so Generals, while in tiberian dawn the trees are stronger than concrete walls and added protection and made maps unique with forest shielding, now the trees are just for eye candy. Also Red Alert ADHD boys will panic with this pacing. Just my opinion.

    Hmm they should introduce unit veterancy also for the units like C&C 2 & generals will make the game more fun with the players will take more care of their veteran units then just spamming like crazy to win a game.

    i expect less actually but from what i am watching, this is more than i am expecting. Maybe after the demo on the other two factions we can see the whole side of the game.
    Maybe inviting Tiberium Wars player for example BikeRush and have him to critic for improvememt can help a lot. I am really want this game to success.
    Good job dev and bring back RTS to it former glory

    So can't wait for this game & Stormgate! If damn EA & Activision-Blizzard can't be bothered making any more RTS games, good to see smaller studios step up to the plate. Tempest rising is definitely 'spiritual sequel' to C&C & it's developers aren't subtle with its influences. since EA can't be bothered doing anything with this amazing franchise, beside ruining it by making crappy mobile games out of it, Hope this game & stormgate helps revives RTS genre.

    Audio work is amazing, as is the Music. The rest is entirely forgettable.
    Comments by Dev along with low time to kill and just how slow everyone is moving suggest heavy PvE influences that will kill any attempt at a multiplayer scene. Gameplay is nearly identical to CnCs of 20 years ago. The walls and gates seem to serve no actual purpose.

    I like the old C&C ore and gem fields but regrowing in a way that makes sense and is more interesting, and also silos that don't look like they're full of mashed potatoes

    Unsure if this will have been implemented by now, but for the resource crates I feel like it would look/feel more polished if there was a cursor mouseover when overing over/clicking on a resource crate.
    Also, if possible (perhaps a stretch) - once a unit has been selected to be attacked, and is killed, units on the attack (or defence for that matter) should go on to target units to which they are stronger against first. Infantry should target other infantry, except rocket infantry, which should target tanks etc. AFVs should target infantry wholesale, tanks should target vehicles. If no units of which a particular unit is strong against remain, they go on to attack whatever is in range/combat with them.
    Change up the fire rate of bullet-based units. Don't have them fire three rounds every time they fire. Not that we're going for realism with this game...but some things would just be better if they were slightly more realistic.

    So, this is the final product? Can't wait to order it! Though I wanna see more of the environment impacts on the battlefield.
    Say like trees can burn and cause nearby damage, or rain can reduce the unit's visibility and range, but stimulate the growth of Tempest. Plus, the civilian buildings, are they garrisonable?
    And just like Doctor Ignatio Mobius said : the possibilities are endless.

    1. Everything takes forever to kill. It doesnt need to be generals lvls of fast but still. Each engagement takes ages.
    2. Voice lines are generic and forgettable. ''Sir, yes sir', Moving! Want something?'' CnC is known for memorable voice acting.
    3. Unit seem kinda boring as well. I understand some tropes need to be there but the useless ''machinegunner or machine gun truck thats only goood vs machine gunners'' is kinda meh
    I remain optimistic but certain things look undercooked.

    I like what I'm seeing already. This is exactly what I wanted, so it'll be a definite purchase in the first week of the game launch.
    and here's hoping that trebuchet tank scale will be much bigger in the final/release version of the game.

    I suppose this is pre-apha, so some of the feedback will be obvious. Buildings seem to have either too high HP or, repairing is too powerful. Building blow up animation could be improved. Also in the beginning your infantry are bullet sponges. Heavy c&c tiberium wars influence comes through, which is probably a good thing. Having the buildings appear with low hp as a scaffolding is a very nice balance between having workers (clunky mechanic in Generals where GLA has a major advantage) and standard c&c building queue.
    I am excited about the 'doctrines' section. This is such an awesome touch, feels like the expansion of the generals 'promotion' system. This could be a 'tech tree' type of system, where all doctrines are not initially available, probably cooldown or another punishment for switching doctrines.
    Also I wonder if there will be upgrades for armor/ammo, additional abilities. balancing is a lot harder with upgrades but I think that is a feature to have in a modern RTS. I like the tempest improvement regrowth idea! Perhaps a setting for each harvester to prioritize mature or young tempest would be nice to have.
    There was a game play mechanic in (a grossly underappreciated RTS), Act of war, where it was possible to capture severely wounded infantry and vehicle pilots after ejection. Then these POWs acted as a source of income, I think that system was really fun. Also it would be neat to have a way to invest into resources (like in Generals).
    Another touch I liked about Act of War was that it had tactical WMDs and also defense batteries against them, so it wasn't just a countdown and allowed for a lot of WMDs to be built.

    A few more visual cues might add 2 the gameplay, like when U took over the tempest rig, the lights on it should change to blue ?
    & the tank movements animation can be made a bit smoother (as of it has weight like a tank )

    Not a big fan of the noisy textures and the brown-ish color grading. Readability is really low in some cases when units and buildings blend with the environment

    Excellent preview, I am hungry for more. Very interesting that the tempest fruit matures, seems like it could encourage either early expansion (so as not to over harvest the early fruit) or being really efficient with using the tempest you do get. Good to see more tempest based weapon effects, like the tower near the end.

      I don't think you would get anywhere near the cap. I assume it is just a technical limiter, as too many units would slow the game down substantially, but it should not restrict the gameplay in any way.

    I think buildings should be rotatable to make it balanced and also to make the base building experience better. I think most people would appreciate this feature. There should also be ways to expand your base to any territory. Also from what I know, you were going to add heroes and special missions to unlock them. There should be many different hero units with various abilities and they should have a good impact in the battle. It would add more complexity, diversity and strategy to matches. Apart from that, this game looks amazing and very promising. Been waiting many years for a good RTS in a Red Alert-ish theme. Looks like it's finally here. Looking forward to play!

    Really like the 'ecology' system, that looks fascinating. Generally nice aesthetic.
    Camera is a little too close in. Time to kill is a bit too slow, perhaps 75% of what it is now? I get that they're evoking the Tiberian Sun era RTS, but units sponging damage is bit tedious. Also, perhaps speed up some of the rocket/artillery animations - the projectile time to impact just looks a little uncanny valley in their lethargic arcs through the air.

      I hope that will make camera height adjustment avaliable in game settings like it was made in Warcraft 3... Cuz all cnc doesn't have it and it is kinda stupid to stare at your command center which takes the freaking half of the screen

    Everything looks and feels like C&C3, which is a good thing for me :D and that vehicle on 12:30 with those 4 tank tracks looks a lot like the Mamoth tank from C&C3, its looking really good and it has all those little details I love like cannon recoil animations on the weapons

    A suggestion: Make Unit health numbers on the bottom left reflect their state in color too. Green healthy > yellow damaged > red near death. You shouldnt have to read the numbers to get a grasp of a units situation, and while this game isnt so fast paced in its combat that it would necessitate this it would improve the feeling of the game in general.
    I havent read much about the games modes yet, but with the pace of the game on the slightly slower end (i am aware this was a showcase match and took that into consideration), and the number of units fielded in the video id say this game would benefit most for its longevity from a 10 or 12 max player cap in a map (specially designed maps for it, not every map). That way people would get the grand battle scale that many RTS players love (me included) and those who prefer smaller engagements could play 2 - 6 player maps.
    I know this last thing could be a bit hard, but I would love to know about why heavy vehicles are unable to crush infantry, as a design choice. It makes infantry a lot more viable, but at the same time makes the hulking machinery a lot less threatening, thats why I just wanted to ask you guys on your design philosophy for units.

    As a C&C fan since I was a child, this looks incredibly awesome and fun to play. It's almost like C&C and I love it, especially the command bar UI design, making it similar to Tiberian and RA instead of Generals.
    I usually play with AI, so I'll be spending most of my time in skirmish AND campaign. Hopefully they are good enough.
    Speaking of campaign, not sure if the team will make this, but I'd like to post some of what I am hoping to see when the game release, regardless if you end up having them or not, it's still going to be a game I am willing to play. I can see how much effort the dev team put in it:
    1_ The ability to make custom-singleplayer maps. Not just multiplayer.
    2_Co-op campaign where I can even play with an AI ally (if the campaign maps are editable, I will gladly do it myself and add an AI to help me, just like what I am doing with several C&C titles. Please let them be editable!).
    4_ Commanders that will speak with us during the battle (Like RA3's co-commanders and Generals Challenge mod)
    3_ Is the "Ally Under Attack" voiceline there? It's my favorite thing in RTS to hear.
    I wish the team the best in this awesome project and hope it gets the recognition it diserve.
