- Read used trim settings for these wind speeds of 5-12kts here....
downwind settings:
* rake 4 out of 5
* traveller 10cm out, maximize for sail-twist instead of traveller out
* mast rotation - tried to keep it at 45deg instead of 90deg, because at lower true-wind speed comes the apparrent wind more from front. but it might be too much rotated in. max downwind boat speed was 17kts
* cunningham, strong-mid to get enough camber
* outhaul: loose
* keep the boat flat
upwind foiling:
* rake 4 out of 5
* traveller: fully in
* outhaul: mid, to reduce the top of the sail stalling
* mast rotation: close to minimum; metal arm is about 3-5cm from boom
* jib: tight
* cunningham: mid/tight (to get enough camber as there wasnt that much wind)
* twist: give max 2 armlength mainsheet to get foiling
* max speed about 11kts and optimize for gaining height
* heel the boat windwards if possible
upwind non-foiling low winds:
* mast rake to 45deg relative to boat
* outhaul: light
* body weight forward to keep boat flat in the water for minimizing drag of transom and foils
