Oct 2023 thru Nov 2023, I had Shingles. I am 66 yrs old & in not very good health, COPD. Prescriptions from the hospital did not seem to help much, with the pain & healing. I decided to try hydrogen peroxide. Pain was gone as soon has it was applied to the wound. Three weeks into using the peroxide wound was gone. Reapplied the peroxide approximately 8 to 10 hours after each use. Soap and water once or twice a day helped.
I'm a very fit and active 62 year old. RE: Triggers. The 1st time I had shingles I know exactly what triggered it. I was in my mid 40's doing yoga teacher training. We were encouraged to work on headstands by the instructor. One day, coming down from the headstand I felt a shooting hot pain flash across my left neck/shoulder area. It disappeared as quickly as it happened. Exactly 7 days later I had shingles on my neck and shoulder. I'm certain that the unusual stress to my upper cervical spine "woke up" the virus. It was a mild case and didn't spread past my neck and shoulder but it was not a pleasant experience. Since then, it has happened twice, both were in times of high stress when I made a sudden movement with my neck, I felt that shooting momentary pain again, then a few day later a patch of slightly inflamed, itchy skin would appear on that side of my neck. It does not blister or become any more than a palm size patch of slightly inflamed skin that is mildly itchy. I discontinue my regular activities (hiking, racket sports, etc) because sweating perpetuates this. I treat it topically by soaking in oat and sea salt baths (luke warm to cool) and clean the area with diluted apple cider vinegar. I also large doses of L-Lysine, vitamin D, C, until the mild outbreak is over. I also stop eating dairy, eggs, chocolate and sugar. Because it was so many years between the recurrences I had forgotten why I was taking 1000 mg of L-Lysine daily and stopped doing it. That's when it happened for the 3rd time. I won't forget that again.
I have shingles outbreaks regularly because of autoimmune. I keep valtrex on hand. It feels like a few insect bites at first, then when there is more, I wake up to the fact it is shingles and start the medication.
My i phone was putting out too much radiation and it made me feel sick I got shingles because of the radiation It was a milder case than most people have but it was shingles I watch another video and he mentioned that radiation can cause shingles and I was concerned because I knew it was making me sick
I have Alpha gal diagnosed right after my Shingles outbreak.Another thing my shingles went not only around but up my spine as well. None of the three doctors had seen that. 5 months into it I still have pain
I'm so sorry to hear that you've been going through this. I know the pain from shingles can be pretty awful. I wanted to mention that we'll have an episode on alpha-gal allergy coming out later this year that was just shot yesterday. It was 🤯
I currently have a rash that sounds like it might be shingles or it could be something else. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. What tests can they do to find out what it is? This was not mentioned
Could single be misdiagnosed with bed bug like body lice? I have 2 Doctors telling me Different thing. Obe thinks its single and iné that its bed bug.... What to do now? I Had single Twice already in the Past plus I have autoimmune Disease.. Tank you for your video.

If not shingles, how would dermatologist diagnose what’s causing an itchy burning rash? Thx 😊

Its a shame Dr Mamina is such a bad speaker. What is the point of her being interviewed when she is so incoherent.
