I just picked ANY Spinderella video to say she is so damn beautiful. She remixed age and kept it in the 80's. This lady stays funky fresh in the flesh!!
So inspiring!! Salt n Pepa & Spinderella have always been one of my favorite female groups of all time! Spinderella is aging gracefully!! Love her collection. My favorite album by them will always be A Salt with a deadly Pepa! Such 80s fire!
spinderella ...was always my favorite all time female dj ..because she could hold her own ...much love to spinderella they should make another album :)
DJ Spinderella still gorgeous, still using TURNTABLES & CUTTING! Digital DJ's take notes. 2 Turtanles & a Microphone, the JMJ story is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen and answers many questions. 'Pleasure Principle' was always my favorite off of Control, yes us guys (middle age now, ha) loved Janet too since the Penny era. Props on the Candi Staton, Reside In Power Nick Ashford. Hot Fun in The Summertime, Sly all day!
Misharona used to be the skating song!!!! Ashfird n Simpson Rocks ohhh she got tha funk Cameo!! Rick james yeah!!!! I used to pop to him 79!!! They playin backstrokin at end!!!
Nice interview with DJ Spinderella. DJ Spinderella, Jam Master Jay of Run DMC(RIP), KayGee of Naughty By Nature, Ali Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest are my favorite rap music DJ's.
Spinderella is still nice on the wheels and I'm glad she still buys vinyl & I love to dig for vinyl; but, I'm still trying to figure out why DJ's are "now" buying 45's instead of 12inch singles, especially when 12inches usually had instrumentals, remixes, & b-sides that you usually wouldn't get on 45's.
+Joey Joe - Wiith regard to 45s, IMO it's for the collectibility. The boutique-ness (I word I just made up) aspect. Vinyl has garnered more popularity in recent years. I appreciate that, but at the same time, I loathe the fact that stores like Urban Outfitters sells re-issue or re-pressed LPs for a 'premium' price. I recently saw the Mis-Education of Lauryn Hill LP on sale for $40. What in the world? Anyway...artists from Kenny Dope to Thievery Corporation have been putting out records in 45 format for years now. They, as well as others, understand, and are hip to the 7" aesthetic. It's has really been in recent years that the novelty has gained a lot more notoriety. Personally, I collect 45 imports and domestics, because sometimes there are different mixes or versions which cater to different regions. More to YOUR point, the same holds true for 12"s too. So I collect those as well. I dunno, but I imagine Spinderella collects for the same reasons that many of us do. BUT... she also spins those singles out in the club wilderness!
The part in the beginning, where she's scratching with DJ Scratch (is it DJ Scratch?) : Has it been recorded? Can we feast our eyes and ears on this session?
she's hot? gorgeous? yeah, no shit! but she's got SKILLS! and impeccable tastes! She' still an absolute masterful dj!! And she's talking about my favorite rick james song! so unnecessary to talk about a woman's looks when it comes to music and art.
@ROBERTyay Oh okay. Lol.........Maybe she was confused or in a state of shock that stores like the one she is in, still exist. There aren't that many left in world nowadays.
Anyone know who the opening tune is , funky as hell, just hear 'Git git git it' then a guys voice , bit like Edwyn Starr! Then its cut and we get My Sharona [ no thanks].
