You forgot all about the brother Capitan's rules! He reroll wounds for psychic weapons, not just melee ones. For the squad he gives sustained wounds for psychic, not just melee.

With the 10th ed army rules for daemons and necrons both being regenerative and their lore based mutual hate, I think it'd be a fun match to see. Also, I think it would be a channel first?

They need to make it like in the fantasy, you move the distance you charged, so some troops can be caught in "no man's land" basically
One of the most entertaining battle reports i've seen
Did we totally forget the detachment rule? All those deamon deep strikes should have been 6”. Meaning the blood letters and the deamonettes would have SUCCEEDED their charges.
It might have got them into combat but I don't think they were going to do too much when they got there. The daemonettes and bloodletters aren't strong enough against power armoured marines. Even Syleske is strength 7 so no good against a Nemesis.
@@georgeflecknell deamonettes have mortals on 5s to wound with Syll’esske leading. I would argue that would do not negligible damage.

try 3 lords of changes and 3 groups flamers 1 Belkor 2 pink horror groups, the changeling and Shalaxi Helbane ;-). That will kill stuff fast and you will not die easy. Great game enjoy it ad lot awesome job to both of you

Great game, but something worth noting: if you'd have teleported those two surviving knights with the army rule, you could have bypassed the battle shock roll entirely and then redeployed the pair of them. Loved to see Draigo actually fight like Draigo. In all the 9th edition games people always kept him out of the fight.

Draigo hit for 12 damage?! OUCH. I poke fun at our Chapter Lord all the time, but he really does kick huge amounts of demon ass.
Grey Knights need a buff, at leat the psilencer should have devastating instead of sustain hits, it's unfair that many enemies are build to destroy psykers, regular assault cannon have devastating, but GK Lost the hammer and psilencer lost AP. With S5 and 0 AP psilencer is a waste. GW need to show GK a little bit more of love.
Whilst I kinda agree, this is a weird take home from a game where daemons couldn't scratch them.
@@georgeflecknell True, but You know, dice tell stories, also Daemons are hella weird, but how about this, regular Terminators point cost are pretty much the same as GK, assault cannon S6 devastating wounds (rather OP), but psilencer is S5 ap0 sustain hits (underwhelming) also psy weapon, now some enemies gets extra defence against it, regular Terminator have 5 melee options including the thunder hammer, then why GK Lost the 3 options they used to have. Once again the unit with it's full options and better guns exist it's already there, then why GK gets a worse version for the same price?

Nemesis dreadnought grandmaster with the hammer is where it’s at. Add in a strike squad to jump around and get those adjective markers for the points. I didn’t like the venerable dreadnought at all.
Guys, loving the batreps. Scenery is stunning and I like the way you walk us through your plans and rules. Very helpful when trying to get head around new rules. BTW where did you get those display cabinets? They are very cool.

Papa Nurgle and his boi's gonna get some severe back pain from all the carrying in this match ^^
The dreadknight is so bad.. I much prefer the GMNDK with a hammer, hits on 4s, but you're rerolling everything with surge of wrath + a S14 weapon nearly guarantees 6 mortal wounds off of Tank Shock.. plus just one command point to target him with Radiant Strike (makes the hammer even more brutal) or Haloed in Soulfire.. since 10th started ive taken down 2 full health knights in one turn with the GMNDK alone (Around 4 Damage from Psycannon + Incinerator, 6 from tank shock, and 15 and 13 Damage from the rerolling hammer).. if you can mists or teleport assault or sigil of exigence it away, it can come back in and do it again the next turn, very fun

Not sure if you’ve been made aware of this but Paladins can take up to THREE special weapons. Two normal guys plus the ancient!!

Grey Knights relying on that 9 inch charges all the time is sadly their downfall. Hopefully a future detachment will give them free rerolls or a bonus to charges out of deepstrike.
For a melee heavy army, GW makes it so hard to actually get into melee with them. Even with free teleports it's hard to do. I get it that if they could easily teleport then charge it might be OP, but there's gotta be some middle ground. Would also be nice to have some ranged options that actually have AP. At least in 9th there were some stratagems and spells that could get you more AP or damage on ranged attacks. I love GK, but every loadout is practically the same for every unit type. Play astartes and you have like 100 different unit options. Play GK and you get like a dozen, which are mostly very similar.
@TabletopTactics So another thing lawerence messed up with his turn 1 objectives, you cant advance and do an action unless you have assault weapons, because the unit must be eligible to shoot to preform an action.
Right you are, easy to forget these things when there's units with Assault weapons, or abilities to let then Advance and Shoot. Good thing it makes very little difference 🙂
What paint scheme do you use for your Gray Knights? I love the shiny silver and how the reds and golds pop with the purple force weapons and I'd love to replicate it for some of my Paladins
Psychic keyword on weapons is really harmful for GKs, you get no bonuses but get all of disadvantages.
