Presumably the gas is not a problem (unless the wind direction changes) but the danger of something opening up under your feet looks to be real. Amazing footage . . .
Realy stupid to be that close to these fisures New ones can open at any place there any moment... it is beautifull but not worth risking your or others life for it😮
Doing my job as Auntie M: Get yourself back to a safe distance! Volcanoes, especially new fissures, a unpredictable. Remember the father and son watching the 2021 eruption and the fissure that became the main cone opened up right next to them? I’ll bet that father still has nightmares ( and kid got bragging rights at school).
Put this right up there with hurricane chasers that go right in the eye of a category 5 hurricane. Hat's off to you, I hope you bought a beer for dessert.
I was just watching drone footage of the eruption and wondering who was risking their lives to get footage for RUclips. This is a really bad idea. Give the eruption some space. If you get hit by a blob, you aren’t getting out of there soon.
Except for people like Tom, yes. I don't know his story, but this is risky. People in Iceland view volcanoes like this all the time when the weather permits. This eruption and the last two I'm 2021, and 2022 are in isolated areas, and people have to hike to see them. There are those who push the limits, but I've never seen this before. Most people stay a safe distance away.
There is no way that guy is being safe! Quite a dare devil! The eruption could easily increase at any moment a kill that dude! It's his call.
Agreed. Even though this is a lava eruption, being that close is unsafe, especially if it's the start of an eruption.
Don't worry. They're designated sacrifices to keep the Volcano God happy. Highly trained and perfectly seasoned!
@@sicksock435446 I am not worried I'm sitting here eating popcorn.
Who cares?
@favoriteblueshirt His wife cares if she wants any sugar!
If you want to visit it, do not do that. It is way too dangerous.
The sounds are awesome on this footage.

Not just that it's the thought that anywhere you step you might end up falling through
Dudes, way too close. Never mind the lava, those gasses.

Well, if he or she make it out ok... they can brag about it!
@@harryv6147like what would have happened with those so-called mission specialists/billionaires on the Titan. Lol!
Please move a bit further away. We do not need any footage of dead bodies.
Take care

If they still thought like you, they would no longer be explorers and monkeys would no longer come down from the trees to evolve the human species.
My thoughts exactly!! Crazy people.
@inarord8169 go ahead i hope they pull a Stockton Rush. 😂😂
Amazing... Ignore the nanny's. There's always annoying people telling other people what not to do.
Awesome footage but watch out for those spatter bombs.
its like a volcanic version of the pit of eternal stench
Weird how it’s jumping around like that. Dancing lava blobs!
I was there for over a month and it happened the day after I leave. Talk about shit luck
Good footage 👍
Nice shots, you were very early
Look forward to seeing more footage from you. Thanks for sharing.
More to come!
Wow, that was fast. The first video I've seen of the new lava flow in Iceland and bingo, idiots standing up close.
I hope that nobody gets hurt.
I pray for you❣
Great idea, asif it would not be possible for a new fisure to open behind your back
Be careful! We love the footage but safety and life come first. Thats life endangering close!
Not really safe as an example. Take care and more distance !!
Litli Hrútur to the left?
Well that was enlightening people around this thing , to watch how life was made doesn’t fit losing yours
Well done -if I was younger and more able I would be doing exactly that!
Risky, but if the fissures all follow a line perhaps he was OK with no surprises behind him. Certainly not something that should be copied by others.

Evolution, both geological & human at work.
😂😂🤣🤣
Or devolution.
toxic gas and any moment can have a big splat of lava on you, not really very smart to be so close unless you wanna die.
Brilliant!
Fantastic; I'd love to be there too
What was the exact time this was shot? It looks super early on in the eruption - it’s much bigger now! How did you get there so fast!!
I was the very first person on site. Camped for 3 nights

nice
these idiots got way to close, could see a lot of them on live stream. very dangerous thing to do.
I get how cool this all is, BUT dang, i'd rather be here in California, watching from afar.
Hope no one gets hurt
Is someone standing in The midst of this inferno?
Ah, yup! Insane, isn't it? 😱
Great video but too dangerous, so no thumbs up.
It won't pour out faster than fleeing horses as viewed .
But, such island flows have so sped, did they not ?
Indeedly doodly deedly doodly
I wouldn't worry about him, he's probably a chatbot.
Yeah that's close. :)
Love all the concern trolling armchair adventurers here.
You are far too close to the lava.
Amaizng footage but,
They're so close to the lava and the toxic gas. Take care
absolutley worth the shot
The shot is prob worth more then his life, right?
Agreed

And risking the Sar-Ice life saving dumb tourist walking in a closed area.
Like a next "human friendly vulcano" - without epic explosions, hot smoke clouds e.t.c.
Or poisonous gas... of course, none of that
Forgive my ignorant question: everyone is away from this and safe from this, right??

Dude, way to close. It can open up behind you and trap you. Bad idea. Keep your distance
Too far, come closer :)
Spectacular! Be safe.
The Big Question: How Long Will It Last?
Probably longer than Tom by the looks of it...
Its over in 2days, thats what my calendar says.

Um, why are you walking so close to the opening - asking for a friend?
Very good early fissure footage!
Archive video?
Hey bro, you are to close ....
