    There is no way that guy is being safe! Quite a dare devil! The eruption could easily increase at any moment a kill that dude! It's his call.

      Agreed. Even though this is a lava eruption, being that close is unsafe, especially if it's the start of an eruption.

    Presumably the gas is not a problem (unless the wind direction changes) but the danger of something opening up under your feet looks to be real. Amazing footage . . .

    Realy stupid to be that close to these fisures New ones can open at any place there any moment... it is beautifull but not worth risking your or others life for it😮

    Risky, but if the fissures all follow a line perhaps he was OK with no surprises behind him. Certainly not something that should be copied by others.

    Doing my job as Auntie M:
    Get yourself back to a safe distance! Volcanoes, especially new fissures, a unpredictable. Remember the father and son watching the 2021 eruption and the fissure that became the main cone opened up right next to them? I’ll bet that father still has nightmares ( and kid got bragging rights at school).

    I was just watching drone footage of the eruption and wondering who was risking their lives to get footage for RUclips. This is a really bad idea. Give the eruption some space. If you get hit by a blob, you aren’t getting out of there soon.

      Except for people like Tom, yes. I don't know his story, but this is risky. People in Iceland view volcanoes like this all the time when the weather permits. This eruption and the last two I'm 2021, and 2022 are in isolated areas, and people have to hike to see them. There are those who push the limits, but I've never seen this before. Most people stay a safe distance away.
