Ep. 3 - 30 Min. Ambient Guitar - C# Standard Tuning - Ambient Guitar Music

- Today I made another 30 minute one-take recording doing some ambient guitar. I have been playing around with alternate tunings and I just decided to stick to standard, dropped down to C#. Overall, I like the tone of the whole guitar tuned down like that. I'm playing my Gretsch G5655TG semi-hollow guitar and stuck to more fingerpicking than swells this time.

Great tone!
Man, what are you running that through? Gorgeous tone!
Thanks! I have quite a few pedals I’m playing through, but the main ones I’m using for drive in this video are my JHS Morning Glory, and Full Tone OCD. Both stack very neatly to have just a little bit of breakup. For amp/cab, I’m actually just using the cab filter on my Strymon Big Sky. I might make a pedalboard overview video sometime, so be sure to check back in!
Looking forward to it!
@@GregAllison Sounds great dude. Direct in or Mic'd up?
Direct in for this video. I have an apartment with several close neighbors, so I sadly haven’t been able to use any amplifiers for the past couple of years. I did recently get a Strymon Iridium, so I’ve got some incredible tones out of that.
@@GregAllison Me too. I have a some very noise sensitive neighbors and they're great people so I wouldn't want to disrespect them. It's great the direct in sounds so good these days.
Are these the stock Broadtrons pups?
The Gretsch is exactly how I bought it a couple of years ago. I actually think the G5655TG might have been redesigned with BroadTrons after I purchased mine. The pickups I have are blacktop FilterTrons.
