  • I plug in my Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP to a battery pack to see how many Watts it uses. With external battery packs, you can take your CPAP camping or anywhere with no power and still get a good night's sleep. I review some of my top CPAP battery picks here: generatorgrid....
Here is the 12-24V cigarette adapter I used from Amazon amzn.to/3wgaRJE

I use a Resmed Airsense 10 as my home machine plugged into mains AC power - it has a heated hose but no humidifer. For travelling I use my old Philips Respironics (foam removed) and power it from from a Jackery 300 using the accessory DC adapter lead. From one full charge of the Jackery I get four full nights sleep of 7+ hours. FYI I use nasal pillows as opposed to a full face mask.

I need someone to do this test with the humidifier. I don't enjoy waking up feeling like I'm in the Sahara.

You can buy inline moisture exchange filters, it may help you. I personally haven’t tried them but I have heard they help with the travel cpaps that don’t have the humidifier.

using AC vs DC the conversion uses about 3 times the the energy as straight DC. the invertor produces waste heat energy and also uses a fan to deal with that. RUN STRAIGHT DC if you can

This was helpful as I have been shopping for a battery for my CPAP. I hope you make another video with the water heater on so I can factor that information into my calculations.

unless you absoltuly need a light power source.....just use a deep cycle marine battery. it will power you for 7days no humid or heat.

I have the Resmed air sense 10 and camped for 5 days and used a deep cycle marine battery from
Walmart ($100) and a Schumacker 410 w power converter with my humidifier turned off and got 4 nights averaging 8 hours sleep. When I got home I still had a surprising amount of power left in my battery. Now I will be camping for 2 weeks so I have to decide on buying another battery or investing in a power bank. I just don't want to spend a lot of money on something that will only get me 4 or 5 nights, have any suggestions?

Thank for the information i was looking for on CPap and deep cycle battery . Many of the youtube videos didn’t show the basic run time with cheapest to go with deep cycle battery . Guessing without humidifier run amps for my CPap will be 1amp draw and with deep cycle battery I should get a hundred hours .

Dude, I use a 12V 12Ah LiFePO4 battery and DC to DC step up 12 to 24V and no heat uses 7 to 10 Watts... much more efficient. The cheap Chinese DC to DC 12-24 cost only $10 and the 12AH LiFePO4 battery $30.

Thank you so much. We have the exact generator. My husband looked on the back and it said 90 watts. I suspect the higher amount is if someone used the humidifier. This is a bipap machine so I don't know if it uses more wattage.

The power supply is over spec'd. Usually worst case scenario with a wide margin. Like computers often have 500-700W power supplies but often run ~200W.

I use a $10 dc-dc converter the metal block kind from China with a 12V 12Ah LiFePO4 battery and it works 2 nights (144Wh) and can go on aircraft as it's under 160Wh. $40 all in as I soldered it together myself with a battery plug.

Ah, number one, your video is way-y to far from us views, so when you are pointing to the display...we can't read it. Number two, it appears as if you have a rather large home, however you are doing us no favours when doing the balancing act and the teeny-weensie table with a plant in the way.
