Just bought the 2020 RDX technology package 2 wheel drive. I own a 2016 Nissan Murano SL with all the bells and whistles. Don’t need 4 wheel drive, heated seats ect. I live in The San FranSicko bay. I’m the typical American. Got the case of the wants for things I have no use for. Got the Tech package and it has all my needs. I did my research of other 5 seat SUV’s BMW, Cadillac, Volvo Hands down the RDX is an awesome vehicle. The more I drive it the more my Murano collects dust in my garage, and I like my Murano a lot. The control pad for the apps is awesome. Took about 10 minutes to get the feel for it. No more reaching to touch the pad as I do in my murano. Walked out the door $39.835 with rubber mats thrown in.. do your home work as I did. You’ll be quite surprised how this vehicle stands up to brand names IE,, Lexus ect at a much less price... good luck ...

From your video it looks like the new rdx doesn't have either one....unless I missed something. I know apple car play would show those, but I was looking for the calendar to display without using my iPhone.

To add an app to your home screen first scroll till the app you want is highlighted, then press on the track pad once. An option will appear at top of screen to Add To Home Screen. Click on that. I have not seen where you can get elevation to display. Thanks for watching

Yes, to adjust the volume of route voice guidance go to your infotainment screen, click on the "Home" button, then the "Settings" button, then the "System Volumes" Button, and finally click on the "Navigation Guidance". There you will be able to adjust or turn all the way down, the route voice guidance. Thanks for watching!

hello, I also have an Acura rdx 2021 FWD when I turn on the drive or R from the parking lot and it gets a kick! is this normal? I didn't have this on another RDX 4WD.
Thanks for the question. It can be normal if it’s cold when it happens and the vehicle is not completely warmed up. Otherwise you shouldn’t be feeling much of a kick (small one is normal). Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. Unfortunately you’re not alone on this issue, many other owners have had the same issue, some have had the TSB replaced at the dealership but they’re continuing to experience the same problem. My best advice is to take it back to the dealership only because I know there isn’t anything you can reset or try that will remedy the issue, but even they might not be able to properly fix it but then at least Accura is aware of the issue. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. You can get remote start on almost any 2020 Acura RDX. It works through the app acuralink While some features of Acura link are free, some are not, you would want to ask your dealer, which Acura link package would include remote start and expect that there may be a monthly or annual fee to get remote start. Is there a way to fix the camera resolution? And also is it possible to remove the Camera Icon on the right side of the screen. It takes 1/3 of the screen for no reason.
Thanks for the question. The camera resolution cannot be reset, you could try wiping off the camera lens in the rear in case it had dirt on it. And as far as I can tell, there is not a way to get ride of the camera icon in the far right side. Not sure why but I know in certain models that same area displays your front and rear parking sensors as a visual clue. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Great video. I am looking at purchasing an RDX. My question is in the menu you mentioned something about the stop start. I know there is a physical button but is there a way to turn the system off so that you don’t have to push the button every time you start the vehicle?
Thanks for the question. The physical button is the only way to turn the start/stop feature on or off. The item I am referring to in the video is just the ability to turn the start/stop icon that appears on the dashboard on or off, in case you get tired of seeing the icon appear and disappear multiple times during a drive. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for making the video. I just bought 2020 rdx yesterday. I notice that the navigation screen keeps zooming in on me automatically. When I hit the minus button back to were I want it, it will eventually zoom back to a close up view. I'm looking for a way to disable the auto zoom feature while in Nav mode. Thanks. I didn't find anything in the owners manual.
@@TwoGuysandaRide Thanks...wow 8 degrees. My family migrating from the upper mid west in the 1850s o the west coast(all Lutherans) . Much nicer climate!
Yes much nicer climate! There is not currently a way to turn off auto zoom that I have found, and more than a few other folks (mostly Lutheran😃) who have the same issue your having. Hopefully a future update will fix this. One work around might be to use Apple CarPlay or android auto, and use the navigation app of your choice instead of the cars navigation. I believe it will function more to your liking. Hope that helps. Thanks again for watching!
Thanks for the question. I’m wondering if you had a usb inserted for the infotainment system right before this happened? There have been others with an issue like yours but they have all had a usb plugged into the infotainment system and the day was warm. My best advice is to take it to the dealership. There will be a number of resets they will need to perform to get it up and running again. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. On the Advance Trim it is available only through the HUD display. Not available on other trims unless it's a higher trim as is available in Canada, and not available in the Drivers Dashboard. To activate in the HUD display, turn HUD on, then using left steering wheel controls press APPS button , and roll the selector wheel until you get to Select Driving View. Then press the left selector wheel until you land on a screen showing the Digital Speedometer. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. To access the AM radio go to the screen where you see all the little app buttons, scroll to the left on the track pad (the screen will move to the right) and you'll see (usually over on the right side of the screen), all your sources including AM radio If you go to 21:55-22:18 in the video you'll see me talking about it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! I don’t think, short of turning off the entire climate control system, you can turn of the rear ac however, you can close the air vents off in the second row and at least then the airflow would stop. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching
Second question- Apple Car Play cuts out from time to time- I have deleted the phone and added back in but it still won’t play until I turn off the car and restart. very frustrating, any suggestions?
I have 2 thoughts on that. The puzzling thing is why you need to turn off and restart. I’m thinking my second option below will be your best bet, but I’ll throw in my first thought just in case. The first one is since Apple CarPlay runs on your cellphones signal it could be cutting out because your streaming something and the reception goes out. The other thought is to either look and see if there is an update you could try installing but short of that I think it’s a dealership issue I hope that helps. Thanks again for watching!
Oh, it ‘s more than that - sad to say there is a class action suit against Acura for this - some have lost their entire infotainment system. It seems to be because whenever CarPlay updates it takes a bit for Acura’s infotainment to get out the matching update. Which is understandable and probably will always be a problem, for every car. It plagues BMW, Mercedes, Lexus. Thanks for replying!
Great informative video! Thank you, just got the 2020 RDX Aspec. The small right screen on the infontainment, is there a way to have the car save it on the clock setting? It keeps switching to Navigation after the car turns off and back on. :-/
Excellent description. I bought Acura RDX 2020 A Plus package. Love everything about the car , except the audio features. You will make my life much easier if it can be fixed. I love to listen to my music and use a high quality USB drive, 200MB/sec data transfer, 32 GB. First Question: is there a shortcut to move in between the music folders on my USB. Every time I need to change a folder, I have to go to Home screen on infotainment, click on USB, then swipe left to go to folders option as it is on next page, click on folders and chose the folder I want to play. Second Question: Most of the times , it shows the folder and when I click on the folder it will not show the contents of the folder, so, I just cannot play that folder. It just selectively shows contents of some folders and I am stuck to use only those folders. I have tried replacing the USBs, I have tried using SD card, with a USB adapter, I run into same problem. Am I doing something wrong ? Please help.
Thanks! I would try clicking on the “music library “ button that’s on the right of the infotainment screen that should allow you to easily switch between folders. As for your second question, once your in a folder, use the fast forward and rewind buttons next to the volume knob to change and scroll through your song list. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
My other thought is that if you happen to have some songs that are prohibited from playing as the have a Digital Rights Management on them. Accura says those files that have DRM encoded on them will not play. But I’m guessing if you go into your music library button you will see more options for playing a folder and for playing individual files within a folder. Hope that helps. Thanks again for watching.
Just bought my new 2020 RDX and love it. You did a great job helping me navigate the Infotainment system. Much better than reading the book. Only thing I must have missed is using the phone. Would appreciate a little more information on answering, ending calls. Than you
Thanks for the compliment. On the steering wheel there are two phone symbols. One picks up the phone on an incoming call and the other is used to hang up or end the call. That’s it. Really easy. Enjoy your new car and thanks for watching
Toggle switch on the left side of the steering wheel. Toggle left to decline, toggle right to accept, or use the track pad, upper left to accept, lower left to end call.
Two Guys... I posted before about certain features but mine pertained to the Bigger sister ship, the 2022 MDX Advance. But much of your content about the 2020 RDX is applicable as the systems are just about the same. I would ask about Android Auto engaged wirelessly (tha same with Apple Car Play), in the MDX and probably in the RDX. When AA or Car paly are engaged, the touchpad Changes the way it functions. Now it acts as slow moving Mouse , not nearly as intuitive as the car's InfoT. And while using AA or Car Play , You cannot use the USB port to play Music !! Is there an easy way to Disengage AA , to return to the Home screen and be able to use the USB port ?? If I select the Acura Icon in AA, I return to the Home screen, HOWEVER, AA is still engaged and cuts off the USB port for playing a Flash drive? Soem people say I need to goto the phone, and deselct AA . That's a PIA bc how do you do that when driving ?? I really miss the internal HDD / CDPlayer that my 2019 MDX had. ACURA, like all the others have decided that CDs are dead. But with the internal HDD that the 2019 had, you could play and Record the CD, then access the HDD to be able to get all your recorded music AND still use AA (wired) to switch at any time , easily . Too bad.
Thanks for the question. Well…there’s no super easy path, but here is one that will allow you to disconnect android auto or apple CarPlay. On the infotainment screen, find and click on Settings, the locate Connections and click on it, then find android auto or apple CarPlay and click on it, then find your device (presumably your phone). And from there you will be able to set your phone to Bluetooth, that will disable android auto or apple CarPlay and your usb should now be accessible. In terms of the sluggishness of the touch pad when using wireless android auto or apple CarPlay, your not alone, many other 2022 MDX owners are experiencing the same issue. My best advice is to look on some 2022 MDX forums to see if other users have found a solution. Some have only had to update their phones to solve the issue, others are still having them. You might also want to see if your audio has an update available. Hope that helps, thanks for watching and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button!
Thanks for the question. Yes you can access and see your music in the drivers cluster. To do so start by pressing on the apps button on the left side of the steering wheel. Thanks for watching.
I'm seriously considering the 2021 RDX Advance to replace my 2019 MDX ,But only if the Acura trade up deal makes financial sense. My current MDX lease expires next June 2022. I don't really need a larger SUV with 3Rows , as a 69 yo Grandpa who doesnt really drive all thekids around ( no. 5 coming in Sept ). The new 2022 MDX is great and Acura elected to go with the Touch Pad and wireless charging and Wireless Car Play ( Apple and Android). The touch pad has given me a big Pause. If Acura went with Tou h screen or e en better and gave you both , it would be an absolute No Brainer. I will watch this video intently and again test drive both cars . Truth be told, in 2019, i went with the MDX bc I hated the touch pad in the 2019 RDX.
Personally I had a 2014 MDX that I traded last year. I thought I wanted to go smaller too because like you I didn’t need a three row anymore. I dropped down to a CRV and 6 months later traded it back in for the full sized Pilot. The smaller SUV wasn’t nearly as comfortable as the MDX was but my Pilot is. And when I do haul the grandkids or dogs around there’s plenty of room for all to stretch out. I like the touchscreen of the Pilot and really can’t figure out why Honda refuses to go with that choice in their Acura line as well. At the end of the day, you have to consider all scenarios for your daily use and wallet. Thanks for the input and thanks for watching
I would like to add: If you have remote Start ( In Advances ), when you Remote Start the vehicle, with Auto Ventilation On for the front seats , & Climate System On, The heated seats engage, he rear defroster / heated mirrors engage , Heated Steering wheel, and in the MDX the front windshield De_icer (heating of the lower part of the windshield engages... So on those nice cold mornings, after starting your car, after 5 or 10 minutes, those things are ON ... In the Summer, Press the Unlock button 1X and then again and Hold it, all the windows and sunroof roll down , then I hit the Lock button, and then the remote Start button and things cool down more quickly (I think the ventilated seats engage too?)....
I just picked up my 2021 RDX Aspec. after 6 Accords. nice car no heads up display ?? no wireless charging? Q. On the smaller screen is there a way of always displaying the clock ? Very good info video ty
It would be nice we agree to have had those two options included. To answer your question yes there is. Click on the home button, then click on settings, then click on display, now over in that smaller window on the right you should see a few choices for just that window and one of them is the clock. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!
The infotainment system doesn't switch off if the car is switch off untill the driver door is opened once, how to fix the time after ignition off the infotainment system should shut down after 20-30 sec. How to do that in 2021 RDX A spec
Thanks for the question. The system is designed to work that way. It will continue to provide auxiliary power for up to 30 min and then will automatically shut off. Other than that It is designed to shut off when a door is opened or when you physically power it off. There is not a way to change this that I know of. Thanks for watching!
We've had one of these for going on five years and my wife still has problems working this infotainment system. She just plugs in Apple Car Play and ignores it. The rest of the RDX is pretty good.
The layout of the "infotinment center" on the RDX looks like the product of congress between a BMW and a Seeburg jukebox. One of the lesser reasons I started looking a a new RDX and finished buying a Honda Passport Touring instead.
The RDX is a B-E-A-UTIFUL car, but Acura needs to the design their infotainment layout a bit more cleaner. It look like they just tried to stuff every input method in the center console😂
They sure have changed. I’m guessing the advancement of technology is to blame, but that’s why we make these videos, to help folks figure things out. Thanks for watching!
Foregoing a touchscreen in favor of a touchpad in this day and age is totally counterintuitive and goes against the basic principles of UX/UI design.... unbelievable. Probably made by the same team that decided the gear shifter should be push buttons that (in this case) take up over half of the center console. SMH 🤦

Thanks for the question. It’s on the same switch as the headlights only closer to the steering wheel. Thanks for watching!
Excellent help to get me familiar with my new 2020 RDX. Thank you.
Glad to help. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the question. I will need to look into that and get back to you. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuysandaRide Thanks for checking into that. I'll just have to live with it.
Your very welcome! Thanks for watching!
My info system is blank. What can I do to get it back
Thanks for the question.
How can I get the speed to show digitally?
Thanks for the question. On the Advance Trim it is available only through the HUD display. Not available on other trims unless it's a higher trim as is available in Canada, and not available in the Drivers Dashboard. To activate in the HUD display, turn HUD on, then using left steering wheel controls press APPS button , and roll the selector wheel until you get to Select Driving View. Then press the left selector wheel until you land on a screen showing the Digital Speedometer. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Picking mine up next week! So excited; this vid came in handy thanks
Thanks glad it helped
Where do I find the AM stations?
Thanks for the question. To access the AM radio go to the screen where you see all the little app buttons, scroll to the left on the track pad (the screen will move to the right) and you'll see (usually over on the right side of the screen), all your sources including AM radio
If you go to 21:55-22:18 in the video you'll see me talking about it. Thanks for watching!
Great review. Quick question. Would you happen to know if there's an option to turn the rear ac on or off?
Thanks! I don’t think, short of turning off the entire climate control system, you can turn of the rear ac however, you can close the air vents off in the second row and at least then the airflow would stop. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching
@@TwoGuysandaRide thanks, it definitely will. Appreciate it 👍😃
Oh , there are some differences between the RDX and the MDX . Please do this for a MDX !!!
Thanks for the suggestion, we’ll see if we can add that. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the question. I’m working on the response hopefully will have it within 48 hours. Thanks for watching!
Hey there. I just got mine yesterday! So happy. Although there's really no place to go because of covid-19. Enjoy...
@@izzythomas848 Congrats on your awesome new car. We're jealous! Thanks for watching
I just bought a 19 rdx and a month after I bought it the infotainment system freezes
Excellent! Works in 2021, too!
Awesome. Thanks for watching
Terrific information! Much appreciated. Very well done and super useful. Merci.

You’re welcome
Love how informative this video is!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
thank so much great information. i love my new rdx
You’re welcome. Glad to hear that you’re enjoying your SUV. Thanks for watching
Love mine too. Infotainment system takes only a little time to become second nature. Honda was brave to be different and not just another lemming.
Can you not see your music in the gauge cluster?
Por favor en español las inst del radio
Thanks for the suggestion we’re always looking to improve. Thanks for watching!
Great information to share with our viewers. Thanks!
I just picked up my 2021 RDX Aspec. after 6 Accords. nice car
no heads up display ??
no wireless charging?
Just got my RDX and thus video helped more than the dealership!!! THANKS SO MUCH
Congratulations on your new car and thanks for the compliment!
Very great and informative video 👍
Thank you! We’re glad it was helpful and informative. Thanks for watching!
Smart move. Apple CarPlay is so much easier to use than the Acura System
The layout of the "infotinment center" on the RDX looks like the product of congress between a BMW and a Seeburg jukebox. One of the lesser reasons I started looking a a new RDX and finished buying a Honda Passport Touring instead.
I thought it was an interesting design approach to place the integrated Dynamic System knob so prominent on the center stack.
The RDX is a B-E-A-UTIFUL car, but Acura needs to the design their infotainment layout a bit more cleaner. It look like they just tried to stuff every input method in the center console😂
Well said! We agree thanks for watching!
Guys, are we still buying a car or a computer?
Great question. Thanks for watching
It’s ridiculous how complicated things gotten. Why?!
SMH 🤦
Agreed.. Acura considers it a safety feature. Thanks for watching
you used about 2% of screen real estate for the screen you are talking about. Sheesh. Focus in already
