    You are genius, I don’t know how you found that arrow, it wasn’t obvious at all. I was tapping away just like and then googled and found this review. To say that arrow and energy monitoring information is the reason why the Tapo P110 is twice the price you’d think they’d make finding the information more obvious. No wonder there are so many reviews from people thinking they’ve ripped off. Anyway, thanks again for posting this!

    Thanks a million, NO WAY would I have spotted that arrow, spent forever trying to figure out how the power monitoring bit worked almost took it back to store.

    thanks for pointing out the arrow. I spent ages looking for a way to show energy consumption

    I too struggled to find the Power monitor, thanks for showing us how to get it. Maybe software updates in the future will make it more obvious.

    Thanks man - that pesky arrow - why don't they just put a decent set of simple instructions together, or point it out in the app???

    Brilliant I didn’t find the arrow either, but how do you reset the energy data back to zero so you can start with a new device. Many thanks. Roy W

    Hello, thanks for the video. Do you know if in the tapo p110 app you can see the consumption in a specific period of time? Or if the app can be reset so it starts counting at a specific time? For example, consumption and energy from 9 to 10 in the morning. (Having been consuming before 9). Thank you!

      Hi. I normally reset for new device to get that information. I couldn't find a way just like you.

    Thanks so much. That little arrow is so small. It looks like it is a part of the "away" aeroplane symbol.
    It connected very easy for me. 2 mins.
    I have tried a multicolour bulb too. Very simple. I want the holiday mode which it has.
    Energy monitor is important as I have the plug attached to a multisocket board with kids PS4 and laptop plugged in so I can see when they switch off those items and I'm out of the house.
    Price is great. I got p110 *2 £9.99 each and 4*p100 pack at £24.
    I reckon these are on sale as Matter standard is about to be announced in next few months meaning big compatibility across all platforms.
    This connected so easy I am happy with tapo app to control my devices.
    Will plan connect it all to Google soon.

    I bought one to monitor my dehumidifier. Worried about the running costs. This plug monitor reassuring that it's pennies to run.

    Does it have a loop option. Like ON for 10 minutes, then OFF for 5 minutes and loop this cycle until we stop.

    A lot of the amazon reviews says this device doesn't have energy monitoring and it's false advertising. I guess they just couldn't find it as you did. Thanks for the video, exactly what I wanted to see about the energy monitoring specifically.
    If you can answer 1 question please, how quickly does the current power update?

    • @UsedReviews
      @UsedReviews  2 года назад +1

      There is two types of sockets by Tapo. Tapo100- just a plug. Tapo110 with energy monitor. The voice command with Alexa and Google works really well. My one was on sale for under £10 I think. Answer to your question is I don't know how quickly it update. I will have to check. I think it is quick. That was first time i connected on the video and it updated when I found the energy usage.

      The power usage shows up with in few seconds. I turned the heater on and it showed current power and whn i turned off it took 10sec and it showed 0.7w. I though it would show 0.0w. I guess the plug is using the power..

    Hmm, I note that the smart socket didn't indicate how much the socket itself consumed, my dad, installed one in my bedroom because I needed an electric blanket as I feel the cold. my electric blanket consumes 42 watts on a high setting, 21 watts on medium and 11 watts on low. plainly I have it set to high, my dad sets it to medium! he said it would be cheaper to find me a husband than run the blanket on high! I need the blanket on high for an hour before getting into bed if my dad isn't around, for 2 hours. I pointed out to my dad that the smart socket consumes 1.5watts on stand-by i.e. 36 watts in 24 hours, therefore, I could have the blanket on for an hour longer if I switched it on myself and it wouldn't use any more power. my dad wants control over his daughter's warmth and his daughter, me, isn't going to marry in order to reduce my dad's energy bill as that would simply be transferring the problem to another man. I am just going to have to move the decimal point from 1.5 to 15 and then explain I can save him a fortune by simply putting me as controller of the blanket, I will also add when I marry (if anyone ever wants me of course) I will want a big wedding which will cost him a fortune, hmm, I'm starting to imagine pink balloons and white gowns, and, I do's.
    Anyway, boys do keep in mind that the socket on stand-by will cost you 36watts a day. A 1000 watts is one unit which costs about 26 pence. Therefore, each month the socket consumes 1000 watts just on stand-by. Best put your daughter in control, the worst that can happen is you pass the problem on to another man.
    It would not be wise to allow the socket to control the lamp, especially if the lamp had an led bulb fitted as most led lamps consume 5 watts, you could have the lamp on for 5 hours longer if you just switched it on and off yourself.
    Finally, my dad paid £10 for the smart socket. I could have, purchased a top for that price which may have encouraged a boy to date me and eventually marry me.

    Regarding set up ... isn't that via Bluetooth before connecting to wifi?

    I was thinking I'd being ripped off then you said about the arrow at the bottom showed the energy usage. I bought a second plug and when I clicked to link it showed my network and password so I clicked that and it connected to it in seconds.

    I had the same connection issues with Wi-Fi on setting up one of the devices I purchased. Rebooted the device a couple of times but worked after I rebooted the phone for some reason. The cameras are quite good but not all features work, like zoning unless you pay a subscription for online storage. This should be made clear before purchase.
    I've found the plugs very useful, much better than time switches for controlling devices. Also the P110 energy monitoring is useful giving a bar graph over the last day, 30 days or year.

    Does it show that power consumption in some sort of graph? Meaning one could see power usage graph of past 24 hours and how it has fluctuated over time. Would be really usable to measure real power consumption for thermostat controlled heaters etc.

    • @MrOldhoot
      @MrOldhoot 2 года назад +1

      You can see a bar graph for today with time intervals, 30 days or year with the days accumulative total. Tap on the bar to see the energy used any particular day. In the app, tap on the device to open it up and drag the arrow at the bottom up to see the power usage. Tap Today, Past 30 days or current power. The past 12 months are available when you have tapped the past 30 days. A very useful device.

    • @iaakki
      @iaakki 2 года назад

      @@MrOldhoot I hoped it would have like 1 minute intervals in the graph. That would be far more useful for my use. Need to study if I could make one using esp32.

    The energy monitoring is pretty pointless. Plugs with Smart Life app show monthly and daily usage at least.

      How is it pointless, if you want to monitor energy consumption it shows you just that
