- This is the Splatoon 3 Edition "Tearing It Up Series" where you guys in the comment section tell me what weapon I should "tear it up" with in Ranked Battles! I also give you a few Tips and Tricks about the weapon and show you what I would do if I where to use it in battle! On top of that we have 3 Main Splatoon 3 Challenges we have to do during the episode and 1 included bonus challenge suggested by you guys!
Today's episode we use one of Splatoon 3's newest weapons the Tri Stringer!

Really like this new format of Tearing It Up with how it’s now focused on fun challenges rather than educating on how a certain weapon works.
The Bonus definitely counts. You hit him when he was behind the wall. His death was slightly delayed, but you definitely hit him behind the wall.
As someone with 4 1/2 stars on Tri-stringer it makes me happy that you make a tearing up video on it😄
Splat Dualies would be pretty fun to see as the weapon has potential
For the challenge, try to get 7 Crabs in a full 5 minute match. If it's a knockout it's not likely to happen which is why a full match with overtime is needed.
You should’ve check the replay feature to see if it was actually behind the wall
Also, the blind arc shot only really works as a vertical jump shot. If you time it right, the rounds all land on the same spot.
Tearing it up second try: Bamboozler :) (and maybe an extra bonus challenge: get a wipeout twice the video if you do this suggestion which i doubt)
If you wanted to check the bonus challenge, the replay function is always there but I would certainly count it.
As for my weapon pick, L-3 D. Challenge: get at least a double with an Ultra Stamp 3 times in one game. If that's too easy, make it 5.

I would love for you to do an episode on the Splash-o-matic. Many people want to learn how to play it as it is the best weapon. I think one good challenge might be to use fall-off damage to kill people (as it is very accurate but easily susceptiple to fall-off.
I say the heavy splatling(my favourite weapon) and the bonus challenge of either: a kill with sprinkler OR 2 wave breaker kills in one match(bonus points if with the same wave breaker)

Challenge : make 3 combo kills with zipcaster and your slosher.
(get a kill with zipcaster or slosher counts, but needs to deal damage with both)
I suggest STAMPER, that’s right the coolest looking weapon and also the challenge would have to be that you have to get 8 direct hits while charged over all the games. They can be a pain but I believe in you.
Sounds pretty easy actually considering that’s what it usually does

Please 🙏, Bamboo! My challenge would be get two kills with autobomb (you can use splash walls, rainmaker shield, etc. to make the autobomb explode early)
im happy you played with that weapon cause i am trying to learn it, im surprised you don't "spam" half charged shots more tho, really helps with denying an area, and i also tend to jump a lot more to land vertical shots, i find it easier than horizontal shots
he said he usually does but for the challenge he has to full charge the shot

Probably won’t happen right after stringer, but I’d like to see reef lux. It is actually pretty good outside of missile spamming if you take the time. Wish it had a real bomb though
I played reeflux for the first few days of the game, then switched to tri and have played tri for like 400 hours. Reeflux can be pretty good, maybe even viable if it had a different kit, but right now you can only either play it for missiles OR play it as a good main weapon. As a main weapon, it wants to basically be a QR slayer/feeder. It wants to dive in, get a cheeky 1 shot, maybe do some damage, paint, and then die. But that synergizes terribly with missiles, which want to stay alive on the backline and farm them.
Curling admittedly could be worse... but not much worse. It allows for good mobility similar to how roller uses it, but it doesnt paint feet enough and reef definitely wants faster feet painting than a tap shot. If they gave it burst kraken or even burst and another spammable special, it could probably be viable, but reef just doesnt have a kit that can support its best playstyle

For the next weapon, I wanna see the Bloblobber. For the bonus challenge: get 3 bank shot kills (have the blobs bounce off a wall and hit a player).
Bonus one definitely counts, the shot hit when they were behind but it just took a second for the game to recognise it as a kill.
It would be cool to see a Tearing It Up video for the Goo Tuber. I think it is a really underappreciated weapon that's also really fun to play.
Also try getting at least one torpedo kill.

my suggestion for a bonus challenge is to 'push'/force a foe to move into the explosion radius of your Suction Bomb for the splat. luring them into it by popping crab after tossing a suction bomb at your feet also counts as you are pressuring them to move into the explosion radius.
bombs are stupidly versatile and during the triforce splatfest i had a splat i was proud of, even if in the moment it was accidental, and this inspired the variant condition for the challenge.

Bonus challenge: do 5 wail combo with bamboozler or get a 10/0 game
I suggest the slosher! A challenge idea is getting 3 kills with the sloshers falloff where the opponent is not in your line of sight.
I would love to see you tear it up with the Squeezer!
And for the bonus challenge, maybe try and get a Splash Wall kill?
While i do like the old episodes of tearing it up from splatoon 1 and 2, the increased production quality is something that really suits the series as well i gotta say.
As for weapons choice this time id like you see playing the hydra and the bonus challenge would be getting two kill within a full charge twice. Id say its pretty difficult but manageable. Good luck ! :)
I'd want to recommend the glooga dualies for a tearing it up. Its in a bit of a weird spot right now but i find it really fun to play and it'd be a good detour from shooters and chargers.
Would love to see vanilla mini splatling, be interesting to see how you use/deal with the stamp buff, mini splatling buff, and burst bomb nerf, especially since this weapons kinda underutilized right now.
Use inkbrush, but the bonus challenge is that you have to kill two players by bumping into them

The challenge could be getting 10 melee kills in one game, or maybe getting a 360 melee charge slash on someone
Would love to see Inkbrush Nouveau! Maybe try getting a quad wipeout using Ultra Stamp?

First off, thanks for showing off one of my favourite weapons in the game!
Second all, massive W for NOT using Thermal Ink!
I have seen so many people do the same beginner mistake I did of using Thermal Ink not knowing that the explosions of the arrows don’t actually work with Thermal Ink at all, making it useless long term.
As someone who has 5 stars on Tri-Stringer, I would only recommend Thermal Ink as training wheels before switching to a different shirt ability like Run Speed UP once you know how to properly use it.
The thermal ink effect only lasts a short while too, so it'll wear off even if the enemy isn't splatted. I personally find run speed up or special charge up to be most helpful, since the first keeps you mobile and the second helps you maintain more consistent damage throughout the match.

Challenge: Get every player on your team to get a drink from 1 Tacticooler

I'd like to see him tear it up with the tri-slosher nouveau. Bonus challenge: earn a wipeout while tacticooler buffs are active.

Bonus Challenge Idea: Get a wipeout without leaving your Bug Bubbler (you don’t have to splat all four of them, as long as you splat at least two)
Suggestion: Dualie Squelchers!
Bonus challenge: Splat someone while using the jump tech 3 times (Or a different amount if you think that's either too little or too much)
I always love the intro to the Tearing It Up series, keep it up!

challenges could be something like QR rush but not going negative, reefslider kill, and dodge roll multiikill
How it feels getting over wall one shots for me in two ways:
1: I’ve tagged you with my thermal, there’s no escape, you’re as good as dead
2: I randomly hit you over the wall with a full charge I fired off
Maps with tall structures like Scorch or Museum are very satisfying wall shots
That 2nd mist kill was so scuffed and funny
I would love to see you tear it up with one of the Splatanas
i have only one suggestion at this time: Ballpoint Splatling
Try to tear it up with the ballpoint splatling!
Challenge: Get a kill with inkjet exhaust
You should try the ballpoint!! And for the challenge, try to get 5 kills with the short-range mode!
DUDE, I just wanted to say that you are an amazing Splatoon player. Watching your videos helped me get through my multiple tumor surgeries. Even when life was tough, your cheerful attitude was so contagious, and that means a lot. I want to say thank you for all you do, and keep it up!
I'm not so sure how I feel about this new format of Tearing It Up. My favourite thing about the last series was that I could learn a lot about many weapons. I appreciate that you're are still giving some tips about the weapon but that mostly feels like some basic stuff.
I would like to see how you play a weopon in different scenarios as best as you can but that doesn't seem to be possible with these challenges.
I hope this comment doesn't sound too unsatisfied, I just wanted to share my personal opinion! After all, this episode was still very fun to watch!
I would like to see the sloshing machine next. As for the bonus challenge: show us just how strong that thing really is - get 30 unassisted kills.

Suggestion: Ballpoint Splatling
Extra Challenge: Splat 2 people with a single inkjet shot (using the splash damage)
Tri-stringer gear advice: Run speed is definitely smart, at least a main and a few subs. would NOT really recommend ink recovery. It's almost always worth it to have object shredder on boots, stringer has the best object damage in the game at its range/over walls, nothing else that hits that far or over walls can do as good and quick object damage as it with OS. 1st ring charges spammed can contest rainmaker pop against basically an entire team for a long time and costs very little ink, you can destroy a bubbler in seconds (especially because you can arc shots to hit the top weak point), a single perfect shot on a wavebreaker kills it, and you can even contend with a crab with some cover.
For helmet/chest choice is yours. Since boots are OS, one of these should be run speed, but which one you choose can influence how you play. If you choose helmet, you have an important choice for chest. Respawn punisher or thermal (or haunt or just a normal ability but these two are probably the best choices). Now, respawn is good if you intend to play like a charger, and this weapon does tend to get like 15-3 K/D ratios most of the time so if you're good with that kind of playstyle and good at aiming and staying safe, use this. Thermal ink, on the other hand, is much better for more aggressive players. It allows you to see players you've hit when they're behind walls, and with your arc shots, that makes them easy pickings.
If you choose run speed on chest, you likewise have a choice for helmet. LDE or tenacity are the two I'd recommend here, LDE helps a lot with ink efficiency, so if you have a problem with that, go this route. Personally, I don't have huge problems with this, the weapon is fairly ink efficient especially when you know how to use partial charges. Tenacity is again, the one to use for players who know how to play safe, position well, and play around their wails as a trapper. The wail output you get from this, especially as a weapon that has pretty good mid-long range paint but weaker close range is invaluable.
Some other things to consider. You could choose to play run speed swim speed and OS, the middle and top gear abilities aren't as strictly necessary, just synergize well. Also, highly recommend taking a sub of QSJ, as is typical for backliners, but also sub power up. Toxic mist gets a LOT of throw speed and distance from just one sub. Ever since the wail SPU buffs, it may be worth taking a sub of SPU but that's up to personal preference. A sub or two of main saver or sub saver never hurts, and ink res is definitely a must.
Personally, my gear is Tenacity helmet, Run speed chest, and object shredder shoes. I previously have ran LDE and swim speed helmets but decided on tenacity as I got better at affecting the fight with less deaths, even while playing more aggro when necessary. I also used to run LDE helmet, thermal ink chest, and run speed shoes before I discovered how good OS was on them, so run speed shoes are an option if you REALLY want both a chest and helm ability, but the OS is so valuable i really don't recommend it
My only complaint with the new tearing it up is that it is all about the challenges to the point that the weapon play is forced into trying to complete them. I like the fresh concept, but I wonder if it can be balanced a bit more with playing normally?

Ah, i remember picking this weapon up immediately as soon as i started playing splatoon 3. first weapon i 4 starred! ended up dropping it simply because there were weapons i enjoyed playing more, but this video has just encouraged me to pick it back up!

Love this episode you can also get one shots without the full charge there called partial shots but there way harder to execute you'll have to a one and a half charge for it but the sound that it makes is sooo satisfying

I recently got back in this game. My main weapon is the .52 Gal and while I am doing well with that weapon, I really have fun with the Tri Stringer.
