That was awesome! , I remember when that song came out! never have seen it played before- too cool, gonna have to put that on my list to learn for 2022!
As a younger Pennsylvanian, it’s crazy but absolutely awesome that international bands come to places like Valley Forge. My dad was lucky to see Little River Band in Kutztown of all places. John Farnham had replaced Glen Shorrock at that time, but still. LRB in Kutztown. Sweet stuff.
I saw where Noddy Holder, Slade lead singer, was offered the AC/DC job after Bon Scott died and turned it down. Thanks JJ for getting this one in front of me.
Offered is a bit strong but he was definitley in consideration. They came within a whisker of blowing ACDC offstage with Brian at Castle Donnington monsters of rock ( admittedly DC were sub par and the weather had turned by the time DC came onstage ).
Nice ... more Slade please JJ ... the 70's lineup had a reputation for playing very well and super loud at their gigs here in the UK ... my ears can testify 🙉
I thoughtg I was the only person to remember this song, they also had a minor hit at that time with all Lets All Pull Together LOL. Run Runaway has a poor mans Thin Lizzy feel.
Wow. I can't believe I've been gone for 5 years? Just found you're new channel! As I have said before, in my opinion, you have a great talent and passion for playing. I've been tuning you in for a lot of years. When I wanted to check out a song to 'try' to learn (hahahahaa) there you were showing me. Since I don't read music or even know the fretboard in ways other people do, I can watch others play and know where to go with a little practice. We too, use to buy an album and start dissecting the musical parts, chords, bass and a little lead. This was back in the 60's, and try to figure out the actual words (hahahahaa). Sadly, my guitars are hanging on my wall, looking nice, and I just can't part with them. I can no longer play because of many physical problems now but that connection will always be in my heart. Keep on Truckin and I will tune in and watch you bang on the strings.
god i used to love this band. Remember seeing them on Midnight Special. I think they got caught up in this country's general rejection of all things Glitter Rock. Of course we didn't know from football hooligans and skinheads at the time
Are you familiar with the cover by Great Big Sea? They aren’t really together anymore, but their members still perform and they’re a really fun band out of Newfoundland. Definitely worth a listen if you get the chance. One of their vocalists/guitar players, Alan Doyle (who sings lead on the Run Runaway cover) befriended Russell Crowe while filming Robin Hood. He played Alan-a-Dale. Pretty cool story.
I don't pay much attention to all that stuff. I'm not loyal to any brand of strings, but these days I'm using .09's. I don't use a tuner, which is painfully obvious. :)
@@jamesjames9275 well thank god you don't use a Brian May sixpence as a pick !! Love your video's !! You are my 'go to' guy to try to learn a new song from You Tube. Love your selection of songs too. I'd love to see more New York Dolls songs but no one does them. I'm dating myself of course !! Hope the health is well !!
Tragically this song gets no airplay these days.
Excellent Job!!!! helped me a lot 😎
Such a great live band. Sadly remembered for cheesy Christmas tunes but those in the know agree Slade could put on a hell of a show
They only had one... and it was a great tune, all things considered.
Brought back a few memories and hats I used to wear.

I always loved it when MTV played this one back in the day!
Thanks Very Very much JJ for uploading THIS !! Slade song...great band in the 70s...
My first concert. Valley Forge, PA. 72. I was 10. Warped forever.

Awesome!! My favourite Slade song. Thanks. Made my day. Can't wait to get home and follow your lead. Cheers!!!!
Great job. Kickass tune! Underrated band. Banging Man is their best song in my opinion. It rocks hard!

I love this song…. Last of the great ones
Brings back great memories when I could go out and have a good time with other people who also wanted to have a good time

hell yeh baby, slade!!
That is awesome. Such a fun tune. brings me back to American Bandstand where I was introduced to Slade. Pure gold. Thank you.
OK this band kicks ass!! I have no idea why I wasn't listening to them when I was 14 back in the 70's... but I do now!
I love that you shared this song! I have loved this since my the height of MTV in the 80s!! THANK YOU!!
Great video. Learned this tune very quickly watching you play. You're really good.
I love this song! Great Job man!
Production sounds a bit dated, but this song is one of my favorite ripoffs of Baba O'Riley. :)
Great!!!
One of the best live bands I have ever seen. (original line up)
I hade totally forgotten about this song. Thanks for the deja vu!
another excellent choice. I love this tune and this band. thank you.
I saw them frequently on the "Midnight Special" where they also covered "C'mon, Baby, Let the Good Time Roll".
Great job. This my all-time favorite song.
Just turned a teenager and Slade were the Boys. Unfortunately a year later I FOUND Black Sabbath. But loved them just for a bit😀👍
Gotta love Dave Hill's haircut.
Wigs, anyway :)
Two words.love it ! well and it takes me back thanks JJ as always and again congrats on the 10 years of service love ya bro
Great love Slade .. well played Sir
Well that's a coincidence - I was just listening to this a couple of days ago!!
Great stuff as usual, JJ.
Nice, you make this a little chunkier than the original.

I'll try it , looks pretty easy, but looks are ..... , thanks man .
That peavey got close tone wise
It always does. Amazing amp from what I hear from James squared.
Yeah you're right JJ does get some authentic tones with his amp ... which model / wattage Peavey is it ?
We've seen your video's for the assortment of guitars you have ... how about guitar picks ? Strings ? guitar slide ? Tuner ? Whats the standard ?
I don't pay much attention to all that stuff. I'm not loyal to any brand of strings, but these days I'm using .09's. I don't use a tuner, which is painfully obvious. :)
