BOUT ALEX
Alex was Born and bred in Glasgow..He's been working now in various Chinese takeaways as a delivery driver for the past few years or so..Most of what he's learnt is just by watching the chefs..
In all my videos i use a high power burner so cooking temperature's may vary cooking on a normal hob..Not all takeaways will ignite the food the way i do and just cook in the normal fashion..This is just my preference..The most important part is using the correct condiments and you will produce some amazing results..My subscribers are testament to that which i'm pleased about.
Below is a list of products i use, condiments, essentials tools etc

Omggg I’ve been dying for this barbecue sauce it’s so good!! Thank you so much
Thanks mate I’m well pleased about that, cheers pal ❤️
Brilliant, thanks. I've been searching for years for this recipe, my local takeaway does a dish called Chicken Supreme in BBQ sauce, I've never found it at any other takeaway, its my favourite. I'll give this method a try, thank you.
Thanks Bear hopefully it's the one you've been looking for..
Fantastic Alex Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
No probs Robert and thank you..
cheers for more great videos my other half and kids going love this one
Thanks Stuart yeah it's a nice easy one
Thank you SO very much for this!! There was this restaurant I ordered from almost every week and their ribs would be something like this but closed down in 2020 and I wanted to cook this ever since. This is so damn good, thank you for this tutorial! I appreciate it!
Awe thanks mate I appreciate that. It’s a great feeling when you’ve been after something for a while and then suddenly it pops up, cheers mate
Thank you Alex, most kind Sir!
Thanks mate
Some amazing recipes Alex. I have started to try them, delicious mate.
Do you have one for Cream of chicken soup 😍
Thanks Jammy i don't actually have one for that..Soups are not generally my forte..I don't have a lot of experience on them with me just being the delivery driver in the takeaway but i could make some enquires..
Thanks for replying Alex mate. That would be good if you could enquire, Love cream of chicken soup lol.

@@ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex Yes i would be interested in that recipe too. Cream of chicken soup from the Chinese is tremendous! Excellent videos BTW Alex!
Hi Alex ! Thank you oh this looks lovely ! A definite keeper for me for my next spare ribs shop! Take care and keep safe 😷🥰👍🏻
My pleasure!!
the color looks so yummy and delicious
Thank you very much Jose much appreciated..
Can’t wait to try this for my hubbys birthday, I like sweet and sour but he’s not a fan! Going try this sauce with chicken and fried rice and some Chinese mushrooms as a side. Thank you for this as we can’t go out due to lockdown so hopefully it will be a nice birthday treat! X
How was it?
Wow! Been wanting to know how to make this for ages. Great stuff mate 👍
Just one question. Were would be the best place to buy pork stock? Chinese supermarket? I'm in Liverpool so not far from a huge place Tai Pan. Thanks 😉
Hi Pablito..I normally just boil up a few ribs from my local supermarket and then just use that..I don't think pork stock cubes is something you would normally see..It does add extra flavour though to the dish but water can be used instead..
@@ukchinesetakeawayrecipesbyalex ok Alex thanks for your reply 👍
Thank you! Will try. Question, how long does the sauce last in the fridge? I hope the minimum is a week.
Two weeks at least but has to be in a sealed container. If it smells fine then it’s good to go , cheers mate 👍
Thank you for sharing ❤️
You are so welcome 💕
Please can you tell me what exactly was in your pork stock to make it look so red and thick as my pork stock I made looked nothing at all like yours
Hi Denise. This is part of another video that i edited a while back..If you have a look at this one you will see how to make it red..If you want it really thick then you have to reduce it more..The longer you cook it the the thicker it will become or just add more cornflour..The secret is just keep cooking and it will be as thick as toffee but the easiest way is to add more cornflour..ruclips.net/video/jKX7OGUQEnA/видео.html
Replace half of the pork stock with tizer or irn bru, yummy !
Sounds good!
Perfect as always Alex! Looks exactly the real deal!
Do you think the hoisin sauce adds to it much? As I’ve mentioned before I’m gluten free but am yet to find a UK gluten free hoisin so would have to leave it out
Hoisin sauce and oyster sauce are the key ingredients to any Chinese style barbeque sauce and very much needed but hey you can still leave it and will still taste ok..These two ingredients always compliment each other..
I’ve found gluten free Hoisin sauce in Sainsburys and Tesco. My local Chinese supermarket sells Panda brand gluten free oyster sauce
Hi…is this the sauce used for Roast Chicken Chinese Style? Tnx
It’s completely different. I’ve actually never heard of the white sauce, well not in the takeaways I’ve worked in . I’m actually retired now and just come on here now and again so sorry for the late reply, cheers mate 👍
Alex is this different to your other one??
Cheers 👍
Which one is that Kevin..It's taken from an old video i had up a while back so it might be the same one but not sure..I have so much stuff on my channel i would have to check..People in the past have may have seen this but actually it's better just to have it on it's own...It was originally part of a barbeque spare ribs video..It's also easier for me when someone asks how do you make barbeque sauce and then i just send them the link..
It's had over a thousand views already in just one day so there has been a demand for it..Views tell me how my videos are performing and which ones are the best
UK Chinese Takeaway Recipes by Alex Wilkie That’s the one Alex. Absolutely lovely 😊
Is this the one that comes in the cup from a takeaway 🥡? Like the curry sauce, I’ve been searching for a recipe... from the 🦖 era 😂🤣🤦🏾♀️
I'm not sure every takeaway has their own recipe..This is similar to the one they make in my own takewawy but they make about 10 gallons of the stuff..This version might be what your looking for..
Thank you for responding. It’s the version they make gallons for and it’s usually on the part of the menu with chips, prawn crackers, curry sauce etc
Thank you I’ll try this as I usually order bbq and chips so hopefully.... this recipe is the 😍ne 🤞🏾
Thanks for your recipes I’ve tried a few and have all turned out fantastic.... but one thing that eludes me is plain Chinese chips.....do you have a recipe for them? thanks in advance
Thanks Gomez..If you mean what brand of chips do they use i have a tutorial for that..They start of as plain and then all i do is add salt and chilli seasoning to them...I'm not sure if that's what you mean Gomez if not get back to me..Whatever it is you will definitely have the answer your looking for..
Is this purchasable? I don't want to have to make it every time I make fried rice, but I'm craving a takewawy right now just because of this sauce!
Unfortunately it’s not purchasable Sam but if you do happen to make it you can freeze it, and make just a few batches then defrost whenever you want to use it. Thanks Sam 👍
