  • Ling Cod caught casting from the rocks! It is easier than you think with Buzz Bomb, Zzinger and Spinnow Fishing lures.
    See cast and jig fishing techniques and how simple fishing is with Buzzbomb Tackle lures. Also see how to tie on a strong leader onto braided line and see some good fishing knots.
    Get inspired! Take a trip with your kids, do a solo fishing mission to re-connect to nature, the ocean, and all British Columbia has to offer.
    This episode is filmed on Vancouver Island by Andrew Forin, but the techniques can be replicated anywhere and by anyone - no boat required! Just find a nice deep drop near shore. Please remember that Ling cod must be 65cm to keep in British Columbia, and there is a season for keeping them - typically open May 1 in the Canadian Pacific NorthWest until October).

    Dang dude, as a dad and a novice fishermen trying to get my son into it, this has got to be one of my all time favourite fishing videos! If I wasn’t already a subscriber this one would’ve hooked me.

      Awesome dude. I’m glad you liked it. I have 4 kids and they don’t all take to fishing the same. Some kids just click with it. Sometimes it comes later in life, I have a few friends in their 40’s just catching the bug for the first time now

    Honest question: if you're using three to six feet of fc on the end of braid, why not just use all fc?

    • @bradfarrahgerwing154
      @bradfarrahgerwing154 9 месяцев назад

      Expense for one and castability......50 lb braid has the same diameter as 12lb mono or flour....much more casting distance

    Beautiful video. I love your content. I fish for flounder in English bay, I've rarely used your excellent Buzzbombs for that, but what is your take on that? Good for sandy bottom fish?

    • @buzzbombtackle
      @buzzbombtackle  3 года назад +2

      They are very good for flounder, and if you are on sandy bottom you should bounce the lure off the bottom and it will attract them further. I had a lot of success with the UV Flashbomb RED 2.5" Buzz Bomb

    are you letting it hit the bottom and just jigging? how much spin retrieving are you doing?

    • @buzz-bomb
      @buzz-bomb 3 года назад +3

      Let the lure go to bottom and do short jigs upward while reeling in. You can also test bottom a few times if you have confidence that the bottom isn't too easily snagged (that's a trial and error thing unfortunately...)

      When I jig from the boat I keep it right on the bottom. Fishing from the cliffs I get it to the bottom, work it and retrieve to keep it just off the bottom, but snagging is part of the game from the cliff. I’ve had lings smash it right at the surface along the edge of these cliffs

    Hi there. Couldn’t find cougar cliff but it looks like you are in Vancouver? Can you recommend any shore accessible ling cod spots in the lower mainland or on the island parksville area?
