I think it's about how a lot of people have to work themselves to death to afford food and shelter, and others like upper middle class and the rich dont have to worry about that and "live life for free"
The Fearless Maniac (I live for you profile pic btw) but yeah I agree. I also think that he mixes in some of his own things into it too with how he could have been treated in the past like with his lyrics on xenophobia or that they’ve got it out for him. What a unique song this is... we have so much to be thankful for with him.
@@halfwithazard4112 Not specifically off the top of my head, but if you haven’t, listen to Ashes to Ashes from the Scary Monsters album , and then I’d say, the general feel and sound of several songs throughout his career. Bowie had a wide range of styles, within “rock”, but this song ( above) reminds me the most of his Ziggy Stardust, Hunky Dory and Scary Monsters albums. I’d listen to the albums, each as a whole, and see what you think! Either way, it won’t be a waste of your time, because it’s Bowie!!🙂 There’s a beautiful song from later in his career that is softer and slower than this song but worth mentioning - Where Are we Now? And Heroes - you must know Heroes? If not , holy *$#@ you must go directly there! 😊 I hope that’s helpful.
@@jonasvitouch9025 I guess it’s up to interpretation, but if you examine the lyrics closely, classism and xenophobia is a central theme, and being someone who has experienced both of things doesn’t really make you a “teenage outsider,” it makes you a victim of an oppressive system/s
Im 32. Covid 19 is a joke, this song is just vaguely appealing to the mystery of conspiracies to capitalize. This guy literally only existed on an app called quidd as a collectible video sticker set of himself dressed in drag for atleast two years until today. But one good thing, the best thing an artist can have going is he's not a manufactured pop star.
I'm almost 40. Artists like this don't come around often. Were blessed to be alive at the same time.
Definitely, Declan is unique!

In fact, it is about how extremaly intense can be a relationship, also it talks about Xenophoby and The Social classes
Declan said himself that its talking about how we are all the human, the same, but we quarrel over the tiniest things

It's about the social classes
A kind of teenage outsider anthem
@Moss Buds no it's not lol. It's about xenophobia and classism
@@laur-unstagenameactuallyca1587 Why can't it be both?

Your comment and it’s wording is a little confusing, could you perhaps clarify or explain what you mean further?
