Idea for the box springs: put fitted sheets on them so they cover the bottom instead of the top. Your Cleo won’t be able to claw through that. I’ve done it and it works great!

Have you tried turning the bed the other direction and put the head by the other window and the foot towards the closet? If it fits that way then each side could have a path (even if narrow). If the measurements work to do that, you could do a small floating shelf on either side if y'all decided you want "nightstands" in the future.

I have one from ikea that has drawers in it. That way the only stuff under the bed are extra sheets for the bed and pj's! (The end drawers we use for items like long underwear that is only used seasonally.)

I have the same mattress. It's such a heavy sucker! We got rid of the box springs and got a solid wood frame with two drawers underneath to store extra pillow cases and yes, towels since we have no linen closet.
That mattress is a pain, lol. It is a heavy sucker! I would love to get rid of that frame and the box springs and just get a solid wood frame, thats a great idea, that way I have no way of shoving anything under the bed anymore...because it was bad 😂🤣 The drawers on the frame would be really nice, I might beable to get away with not having a dresser if I had drawers on the wood frame? If you want to avoid a place for clutter to get away from you get rid of the metal frame and get a solid wood one or just place the box springs on the ground. Life saver at my house! Never regret!

Also I really enjoyed having you talk in the background while I did it because I am from the Midwest but moved to Arizona 5 years ago and I miss the pace and tone and way of speaking that many Midwesterners have, people here just don't talk the same, made me very nostalgic haha keep up the hard work, it can be a hard/long process but so worth it in the end!!

Nice! And I have a bunch of junk under my bed - like a closet system pretty much like the one you have (still in a box)-probably a couple pairs of shoes, one sided socks and dust bunnies, and a couple shoe boxes I bet 😉 Love the transformation. Keep it up ❤️👍🏼

That bed is waaay too big for that room! I was shocked that it actually fit in the room. I think the next time we purchase a bed we're going to get a Queen, I think it will fit better, I am thinking about switching things around in there to make it more functional. Your personality is very real and relatable 💙 just an idea, for things like the metal tray and the bins above the closet, maybe set them aside as you organize because they can be very useful when organizing drawers and cabinets! No waste of product or money :)))
Oh I love this. We just blogged us filling a 30 yard dumpster and are on the same journey. We just sold our 1800 sqft house to downsize with our family of 5.
