I did this fight with just infinite zandatsu. The hard mode fight was the tough one for me. Took three days. But know I can say I could confidently no hit revengence Armstrong in the base game. Armstrong in the Sam dlc is an entirely other thing that I shall never think of again.
@@LeGhostFire yes its easier in keyboard and mouse because i played mgr 1 year before with keyboard and mose it was very easy and today i played mgr with controller it was hell

This is not reveangance mode, reveangance mode has small ass cut cubes and the moment you fail to hit one you fail any given sequence on Armstrong, at least in ps3. Haven't given it the time on pc though, could be easier, also reveangance (on ps3) is only perfect parries and any hit one shots you from any enemy... And if i remember correctly (this part i don't remember that well) Armstrong, even when you parry hits, it still takes chunks of life out of you

The cutting sequence stops getting smaller after hard mode You only take damage from parries in second phase due to you not having a sword Besides, revengeance mode is characterized by you dealing less damage and taking more damage from enemies, not the size of hitboxes. The losing health even with successful parries is also present in other modes.
@@LeGhostFire as I said, this is from what I remember from PS3 version, like 5 years ago, would have to fix that thing up and double check if they are different, because I remember smaller hitboxes ( also the Armstrong hitboxes when I failed them even once it counted them as a failure, therefore grabbing me and throwing me) Again, this is a version where there even were subtitle problems, they were half English and half german in the "they sowed their fate when they took this job, I'm just the reaper", and other weird stuff. So it's either different or my memory is trash, could be either (I haven't played reveangance in pc yet)
it baffles me as to how easy armstrong is on paper but how much harder he is in execution oh and the sam dlc armstrong is genuinely the worst boss fight in the game by a mile, i literally exit to the title screen once i kill the hammerhead before and just do any other chapter because this fight makes me want to kill myself

Very Hard is a harder version of Revengeance cuz the perfect parries dont do as much
Just for anyone stuck on this fight, the highest dps in the game is obtained from spamming the sky high ability
The third phase is easy enough, I mostly have trouble with phase 2 lol

I can’t beat him for the life of me on hard. When he runs to the top and throw boulders, I can’t turn my sword in slowmo mode. It pisses me off.

So he took like 0.5 or 0.4 damage per heavy attack
phase 3 is easy
phase 2 is where I have a bit of trouble
