The thumbnail caught my eye so I clicked on it.
None of all these things I ever do, I also hardly ever change the water, instead I run a deep dirted tank... 62 gallons, with 8 Discus fish.. plants.. plants and more plants.. togther with a micro diversity.. a food web for the fish makes me able to do 2 feedings a week to the fish.. never be a slave to the aquarium.. enjoy the nature in jour home..
I also have a dirted aquarium with apistogrammas in it
What about total dissolved solids?
@@PR-vx9bs due to the 1 plant to tbe gallon, and 3 feedings a week I hardly hit the high numbers.. a well matured tank is able to handle.. ofcourse keep upserving the fish.. and act according to that. But never be slave to the tank. Nature knows best. And take a look at the FatherFish channel also here on youtube.
I'm glad I to hear I do almost none of these. But my fish water is 100% tap water, and it has never been a problem for my fish although I had them for like a year or more. I also used a ceramic cup as decoration, it was an "ancient" one that I found in a shallow shipwreck when diving and washed thoroughly (no soap) before putting it there. It caused no issues. I knew you generally have to be careful what decorations you put in, but not exactly which ones are bad

I tap on the glass of my 60 gallon tank (240 liters) every time before I feed my swordtails, they recognize the vibrations and come up for food like crazy, the volume of the tank is big so it doesn't disorient them
Agreed, I do this too❤
plants not only make the tank nice and as mentioned, they also provide numerous benefits. although tough initially, they will grow under proper care and once they do, they can actually give a lot of goodness such as providing shelter for timid fishes and also help remove some of the potential dangers posed by nitrates and ammonia.
Put plants in and give them a week to acclimate.(think 2 per gallon ratio)..then add life....youll be amazed that the 0 ammonia/nitrite readings show in wild Co2 like growth......a little over a month in, I got my first nitrate reading which is holding firm at 5 PPM. Plants create a balanced enviroment, one which isn't truly acquired without them.
Ty so much i’m goung to buy two fish tomorrow and and i’m happy to now what to do and what to not do, i already had some fish but they all died and now i understand why, i did almost every error you listed here
So I have built my all new ever reef BioCube, and it's only less than one year old. An aquarium employee told me to make mayo water changes ones a month. So I did my first 50% water change a couple a moth ago, and my corals did not like that. I almost killed my corals. Thankfully, they are recovering. So I did my research, and what I did there was almost setting my tank to zero. So now I do 20% water changes only every 2 weeks and corals are getting happier every time. Yes, they are still recovering but looking better every day.
Fish hate it when RUclipsrs suggest they can feel hatred.
i agree with avoiding 100percent water change unless there is a disaster and your fishes are dying in an alarming rate. i once had to do that because ick was running out of control in one of my tank and after almost all had died, i shut it down and redo it with full change
6:01 obviously, for that one, because some irresponsible pet keepers release them into the wild they became invasive species that happens in Florida
New friend ❤❤❤❤❤
100% water changes is over cleaning your tank in general
100% water change being bad was a new one for me. Of course, you don't want to do water changes if doing a fishless cycling of a new tank so you can build up the biofilter quickly.
I know a lot of people in the forums I frequent do 90% changes at one time and haven't heard the pH swing issue mentioned. I've done between 50% - 80% changes depending on the nitrate levels.
I suppose it makes sense to prevent pH swing but that might depend on what the source water pH is versus what the tank is maybe?
😢
6:54 MYTH Letting water sit for 24 hours or even aerating it for 24 hours only removes a fraction of rhe chlorine.
Can you pls rabbit
Bruh told us to wash our hands so we dont make fish sick with soap lol
Can i ask you one question?
