I live in Caerphilly. The monument by the castle is an art piece called Obelisk. It does have an internal light but I haven't seen it lit up for a long time now. 😔 The castle looks wonderful in the night. It lights up all the way around the castle walls 😄

Yes, it definitely needs a information plaque. It confused me when I first moved here so I looked it up a few years back haha. There are random art pieces dotted around the centre. The cheese wedge by the job centre ! 😂 The castle is having renovations so it might be worth coming back when that is finished or for the cheese festival in August when they let people in the castle for free 😄
