How did they hang a picture in a way that pierced the whole tube?

dunno what people's problem is with no hub couplings on a drain...I've never seen one leak. I used 2 for a horizontal repair on the kitchen drain line in my house. Years later a plumber hydrojetted the line to clear the grease and even with thousands of psi blasting they never leaked.

I see the repair, but I don’t like it. Isn’t there another way? How about using a repair coupling?

those repair couplings dont make a good seal, the way done in the video is the best way you can do it with limited space.

@@jacksplumbingvideos7147 I used 2 of them in my life one in 1989, similar to yours but on a 3” drain line that I needed to add a tee for a drain line in a new basement finishing project, that was in early 90’s. The other was also on a main drain line ro move a cleanout that would have been covered in a finished wall, this was in 2010. I still have the last home and that is the main line for 2 washrooms and kitchen, with no problems. I’m not a plumber, but just a DYI person.

I could use slip couplings here but no point. This seal is great and is hidden in a wall.

Why would you not like that? lol
