They do that when they're gambling to mark where the balls are in case the balls are accidentally moved by the incoming shooter. And everybody's watching the game to catch fouls. There's usually a few spotter's watching the game to catch fouls. Sometimes the ref makes a mistake and you can object lightly and briefly sometimes , but the referee has the final say and you can't argue the call. They usually get it right though and rarely miss the call. If there's something you don't like you don't have to play at any particular place anymore. But they've got games everyday. And you can probably play cheap too. They play different guys everyday . If somebody gets a call wrong occasionally it's not a big deal. Even more rarely in extreme cases a tiny fraction of the time ,maybe within a hundredths of one percentage point will that rare bad call be the determining factor why a match was lost. Of course if you play for more money you might want to make sure your refs are more knowledgable and cognizant when you play. I won't even bother arguing calls anymore. I'll just let the guy have it. Now if a guy gets out of line I won't play him anymore. And I always screen the guys I play a little bit before considering playing them. In the Phillipines it looks like you can move around a little bit in front of the other guy's shot and it seems acceptable. But you can't really talk while they're shooting. And if you lose you can keep playing the next day. Or whenever. There's alot of guys you can play and there's no need to get fixated on playing any one guy. Usually in pool you're not going to play any guy more than a few times at most anyway. You might play someone once alot of times and lose. Then never play that guy again. He might beat you but decides he doesn't like you and refuse to give you a rematch. Just play whenever you do,get involved ,and jump in to playing either casually,in tournaments,or gambling. Or a combination of two or three . And some practicing. But it's not like a rodeo as it has been historically here in the United States . Where you have to win every match and hornswoggle the next guy out of every last dime . And rub his nose in crap while you're beating his brains in. That killed pool in the US. You can gamble and be civil without sharking the guy to death. But there's still going to be some light sharking going on in some of the cash games. But it's turning into a rich man's game for the larger stakes in the US now. They don't put the money under the lights anymore. If you lose you pay. Nowadays you absolutely must have at least some money management skills to be able to play pool . Don't exceed a budget for your pool playing excursions. When you get low on cash stop playing . And bet your own cash. If you need a stakehorse that's a weakness. And if you can't afford to lose it don't bet it. If you've got major problems in your life don't play until you're settled down mentally,physically,emotionally,and spiritually. Try not to be an ass when you go into the poolroom either. And your diet is your medicine. So you have to learn what's safe to eat,when to eat ,and what to eat. Be nice and clean when you show up and make certain your breath doesn't stink. You'll be trying to figure out your diet the rest of your life. That's how tricky it is with the false information coming straight from the corporations and the top 1% of worldwide wealth aiming to keep everybody else down and using mind control and ehavioral modification through dangerous toxic chemicals and injections/pills/questionable medicines /and airborne toxins to sterilize populations and keep the herd docile while the psychopaths,sociopaths,narcissists,bipolar,and schizophrenic CEOs keep everybody down and make rules and laws designed to deter universal wealth and punishment even for anyone trying to accumulate wealth. The rules are designed to do that. To keep the population uneducated and docile with mind control,advertizing utilizing Bernays four pillars to entice everyone to overspend on things no one really needs . To break people to make you continue being poor. You have no idea how diabolical the psychopaths really are or the details of how billionares became wealthy. Knowledge is infinite and impossible to know everything over eternity. But to increase intellect it's best to learn a little about everything you can and keep learning.
