- A Penny More
The first time I stood on stage at Massey Hall was in the spring of 1970 as part of the all city public school choir... I was in grade 5 and had no idea what lay ahead... that everything was in front of me... the love, the heartbreak, the friendships and the joy of standing again on that same stage nearly 50 years later, singing out to the hall, filling it with our voices and our desire to join together with you, in song.

A Penny More - written by (Finlayson/Maize)
I will not give you a penny more than you deserve
I don’t know why you bother asking, anymore
All of your charm couldn’t make me change my mind
I will not give you a penny more than you deserve
Can’t you see I’m busy I don’t know why you never learn
I don’t know why you bother waiting, anymore
You stand in line but you’ll never get your turn
I will not give you a penny more than you deserve
Higher Higher You take me where I want to go
Higher Higher You take me where I want to go
And if nothing’s what you want
You’ll get nothing more from me
I will not give you a penny more than you deserve
I don’t know why you bother asking, anymore
All of your charm couldn’t make me change my mind
I will not give you a penny more than you deserve
Higher Higher You take me where I want to go
Higher Higher You take me where I want to go
Higher Higher You take me where I want to go
Higher Higher You take me where I want to go

Saw Skydiggers at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver way back. Bouncing on the wood floor that had tires underneath. One of best concerts on my life. Still love their songs .
Oh Skydiggers! You take me where I wanna go.
Just stumbled upon this great band again, after years of listening to them. What a unique, moving sound! We have such a unique sound here in Canada; love it!
love this song
Still sound amazing after all these years, but damn- what a sober vibe in the audience, nothing like how it was back in the fall of '90 during the tour through the university gigs on the east coast- these guys know how to get a crowd moving (as long as there's some amount of life still in them- the crowd, that is ;-)).
people get old...
@@bodhisattva99 Yeah, we all do in the end.
So many great memories of Massey Hall. My first visit was as a kid for a Gordon Lightfoot concert in 1977.
Yes there are. My favourite night there was when prog rock band Renaissance came there. Absolutely brilliant concert. Their lead singer was Annie Haslam and she had a magnificent voice, very angelic. To hear her sing at this magnificent venue was breathtaking. Would love to have seen this great band there.
That was moving love it.
Very nice! That brought me back to around 1990 in Vancouver (Orpheum theatre), when i heard you sing this song...opening for Blue Rodeo i believe. I was there to see you guys though!
Awesome
