About the Argentine. It was Argentina that made the approach for BRICS and not the other way around. The fact that the new administration seems to be backtracking is all about Argentinian internal politics. Argentina is in financial ruin at the moment and that's putting it lightly.

Interesting to see what happens since belgium n south africa is pusging the world court issue and more interesting to see if they use the sdr drawing rights or what currencies go in thd basket and what rate it will be vs. The dollar i see our inflation rate is at 2% which mean we are at tge sweet spot to revalue but our dollar is so manipulated n backed by nothing anyway who would really want to do business with us anyway especially w the way we act with our sanctions and how we act period as a country

I am sharing what I know with friends and family as much as I can. This is something all need to know especially here in the US. Probably not. The currency has been under attack for a while and will probably continue to be, which will be an advantage for exports and hopefully attract investments, but a killer fir imports and international travel.

The British pound was the global reserve currency until World War II
And the USD was once backed by gold!

Is it wise for South Africa to be trading with the Slitherin House of the world? There are definitely some red flags in there. Diversifying is one thing but I don't think that I am alone - as a South African - in feeling uneasy about this.

Im pro BRICS!! With the west all countries bow down to the Emperor USA, followed by UK and some EU countries. Im tired of African leaders being western puppets, how do they justify Africa using less fossil fuels while they are building coal powered substations?
Yes, it is wise. Everyone else is trading with these countries, including those who purport to have issues with them, so why not us?
On the development side especially, membership of BRICS is an excellent opportunity that the country had started gaining momentum from to make game-changing moves, and then we almost did what Argentina has done.

You are truly awoke Ashley. Russia took over the chairmanship of BRICS at the start of 2024. One of their key objectives is to de-dollarize. USA decided to weaponize their currency and the world is exploring for alternatives. 🖖🏾🇿🇦
