Resorting to Violins to Speedrun Monster Hunter: World | Personal Best

- I've always had the idea in the back of my mind to complete some of my favorite games as fast as possible, but with some rulesets being rather tight or restrictive, I've held off on even attempting speedrunning. However, this doesn't mean I couldn't just do things my way and have a more relaxed experience.
This is "Personal Best", a series where I try to complete my favorite games as fast as I can, in whatever category I choose or otherwise come up with. The goal isn't to necessarily be the best amongst others, but to be the best that I can be for myself. Although, if I do get comfortable enough, I may try an actual speedrun.
In this first episode of Personal Best, I try to beat Monster Hunter: World as fast as I can, using only the Hunting horn.

I wanna apologize for the lack of quality in this one (but it's still 720p so uuhhhh lmao i guess). Shotcut kept crashing when trying to export this and I tried everything under the sun to get it to work, including exporting it at a lower quality.

i really enjoyed how you leisurely played this speed run - although you may consider it suffering esp. w HH , i can tell you were really laid back even if you got carted or would just restart quest . heck you even caught some downy crakes on the side but that could just be your “gotta catch’em all” instincts kicking in . can’t wait to see some more runs and hopefully Wilds content in the future . keep up the hunts !

I never touched the hunting horn in a long time the game I used it in was mh4u and that was in a single expedition what changed in world and rise?
I’m not sure. I’ve only ever used it in 5th gen, and I don’t like it very much.
In 5 gen you can have 3 song in the queue whereas in 4th it was one. iceborne added a new move with the echo attach that give you an echo note but aside from that its pretty close to 4th gen.
5th gen HH is probably the best one yet. 2nd gen was way too slow with the recital mode, and Rise is way too fast if feel like you're playing dual blade. 3rd and 4th gen are pretty close to base world but with less tune in the queue.
