The hardest game of my childhood done in less than 20 minutes. That's amazing, I remember the dracula fight and watching my older brother, who was 15 at the time, fight him but never win. I ultimately beat it first when I was 7 and he pretended not to care but I could tell his pride took a hit. lol I always wanted to play Rondo of Blood too but never have. I do remember Super Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back as well actually, I can't remember which one is harder, but I want to say Star Wars. That game was just nuts from the first second.
My goodness the comments here calling him bad. You've ever been on stage performing for a live audience and millions on twitch? He did a fine job, completed the run underestimate better than anyone here calling him bad. Cut someone some slack, nerves play a lot in performance.
Making excuses for playing bad? Dentist chip your tooth? Cut him some slack, he was nervous. Someone rear end you? Cut him some slack, he was driving a car. lildingus speedruns this game for a living, it's his main source of income. Lets cut him some slack :)
Wait until you hear them in Rondo of Blood. Opposing Bloodlines, Dance of Illusions, Picture of a Ghost Ship and the boss theme are some of my favorites there.
@@kobifisher9698 Sadly the map theme (and its derivative for the *other* screen you'll see often) is an original. The only other game to use it can no longer be purchased.
If you like this game play Rondo of Blood for PC-engine (you can look up a simple guide for running it online, most people likely don't run PC-engine). It's a much better game. This game is based on that game, but this was rushed horribly and the level design overall feels like they gave it to the B-team. With lack of visual flair, strangely bad control decisions (why does backflip gain so much height), lack of branching paths or secrets, complete linearity, and frequently lazy level design, this game, while somewhat fun, is the most disappointing 16-bit Vania out there. Rondo of Blood, on the other hand, is the best, and a REAL treat to play. Everything is just... better.
The PC version does everything this game does besides be utterly ridiculous with level design. The PC version lets you play as TWO characters(You can save Maria in this version but can't even play as her!), save 4 maidens, and has higher quality music.
The research I did on both AGDQ's site and on DWB's site says 1.3 million dollars. Not to mention various other sources such as gaming news sites. I don't even know why I bothered researching, though, since anyone can just say "It's a scam" without any proof.
This is the Japanese version of the SNES game, Dracula XX, and Japan did not censor as much, including religious figures, mild nudity, etc. (Ex. Cross -> Boomerang, Naked Werewolf) Basically, that's how it was originally designed.
those gears are such a pain in the he makes it look like a walk in the park. mostly because the stupid Medusa heads. it's like not only do I have to balance but I also have to watch where I jump. I love the Castlevania series but I do not like the Medusa heads they are not impossible but holy crap are they annoying as hell I get that's the point but I think they work a little too effective sometimes.
Would have loved to be a fly on the wall at the board meeting where they decided "Hey, you know how Rondo is a great game?" Let's make it shitty and release it in America!"
@@Phantosification That name is rather ambiguous (it applies to three games, two of which are canon). I've actually started referring to it as Vampire's Kiss for disambiguation. The difficulty of this is far less balanced (unlike Rondo of Blood, this game teaches the player to swim by throwing them into the deep end of the pool while shackled to an iron ball), the physics are utterly wonky (for whatever reason, *jumping* is far faster, though it's also more likely to get you killed), the levels have far less divergence (his game only has 4/4' and 5/5', with absolutely no way to go between 4' and 5'), rescuing *anyone* is extremely convoluted (not even Rondo of Blood's remake is so bonkers, even with the additional steps for rescuing Annette, though this is also owed to being able to save your progress), Maria isn't playable (an especially sore point, given how her mobility and attacks cut the difficulty considerably), and even the bosses aren't that great (Dracula's arguably the worst offender, as the only thing keeping his first form from being a cakewalk is the damn floor, while his second form relies on flying out of reach _and_ knocking you into one of the pits).
Zepher Tensho You don't know? The animals in Super Metroid are sacrificed so that frames may be saved. It makes a ton of $$ as a goal to kill or save them.
Although it's a bit late, save or kill the animals refers to Super Metroid that has animal prisoners at one point, so people donate money to either save or kill them when Super Metroid's turn comes for it to be played, and the option with most money wins. Basically you can donate for say "10 dollars towards Jak and Daxter with full Owen Wilson impersonation" and if the speedrunner chooses to do that they get money. Save or kill the animals is just a very popular request, sorry if this took too long I may be wrong though

Can someone please explain why people donate their hard earned money to some people to play games, i understand to donate 1$ but 50$ wtf ? people gone mad these days, lets be realistic nobody cares what you fucking say when you donate. If its for charity, lol i don't think money goes there i think people found ways to pocket easy money from dumb people !

Give rondo a try if you havent by now

He died a couple times, so what? Beating this game is a feat already.
This game is hades. It's an old favorite but hard isn't a suitable descriptive.
And he was really nervous. Kudos to his friends donations that make him loosen up a bit.

RNGesus and Dracula are good buddies.
Dude, i love the soundtrack of this game. The snes hardware make this my favorite ost of all castlevanias.

I think this game is great!! Tough, tense, amazing visuals, amazing soundtrack and an overall amazing experience

KinnikuBusted Exactly!!!
It's also half the length of SC4 and a quarter of Rondo of Blood.
ETankFred well at least the last boss is harder than rondo. Rondo was disappointing especially as a last boss
I remember this Game waaaay longer when i played it as a kid xd
"The stopwatch is useless"
This aged poorly
Can ya explain why?
@@jotarandom watch the current world record speedrun

Uma coisa que aprendi com esse jogo:
O pulo é seu maior inimigo
E inimigos voadores são piores
All runners are amazing 😉
when i was a kid, i couldnt pass the first part of the 2 level XD
Hey this guy did a great job, oh and this game has awesome music
starts at 4:00
hard asf game.. i cant take this series
4:00 start time.
Ty
We all know this game for it's music.
1st 2nd and clock tower stage are personal favourites, you?
FOB 7 I forgot which level it plays on, but "Den" rocks my socks. Oh, and ofc, Bloodlines.
+Hayao woah!
...ikr?
[brutalmoon] i prefer Bloodlines and Rondo Of Blood honestly
Does this game even have any original tracks? Rondo of Blood is the canon version of Dracula X, and that's where they got their music anyway.
The level 4 alt boss is necromancer. He's a new boss coded for this release.
guys check the money at 16:56
First level is rough. Ouch.
The entire game is rough, and trying to get a good time does nothing to help.
SGDQ is pretty great.
Sci-Fi Savage Yep, you send in your money, and support charity. Such a scam...

15:52 did I just see a holy cross on the ground right after the knight was defeated, I don't remember that being in the game.

I know I'm the only person in the world who likes Dracula X more than Super Castlevania IV
Nope, not the only one. Super Castlevania IV is alright, but I'm not really a fan of it. Would rather have had Dracula X on the anniversary collection
Liked Dracula X & Castlevania 3 more than 4.
Nah, I did as well. So much better control than IV
I like Dracula X, Rondo, and Bloodlines all more than Super Castlevania.

How to speedrun in castlevania games
1. Put a password to the final stage...
that's it
That's not fun though. Invalidates the rest of the game. There's a reason HL2 isn't just console to the last Chapter.
Seriously, what's with some of the donors saying "kill the animals"?? Is there some running inside joke going on here?
