Ok
This was such a relaxing vlog to watch amidst all the quarantines and shutdowns.
That’s what i was hoping for everyone 🤗💕
Loved seeing you exploring the bookstores in my city!! I love Boston so much!
Anna Christine my boyfriend and I both grew up in the suburbs and always love going there 💕 hope you are staying safe if you’re currently in Boston!!
This vlog was perfect! Thanks
I really enjoyed the video. Btw it’s Salman Rushdi not Rushdai as your bf first pronounced it. We write it that way but we pronounce it differently.
Love you vlogs!
Love ❤️ this video!! I miss B and N. In Machais, Maine we do not have any book stores. 😢
I have to buy all my books on line.
I hope I can get to a bookstore after this virus 🦠 is over. 🥰
I miss bookshopping at bookshops
Hi Kate, this whole pandemic thing has me beyond nervous and anxious. So.... I've been going back and binge-watching your videos, especially Vlogmas. You are always a calming voice and a sweet presence. I hope you are doing well. I bet you are getting a lot of reading done!
I’ve also been feeling so anxious :(( that’s why I’m hoping to keep content coming out as normal (at least 2 vids a week) to be able to help everyone keep their minds off stuff! We’re all in this together 🙏🏻
@@murakamireads Oh, sweet Kate, I'm sorry to hear that! I think it will all be okay, but oh it hurts in the meantime, doesn't it? Are you struggling to read? I have been so anxious that I can't sit still for long. I will be looking forward to your videos and thank you for being here for all of us who need a steady, calm voice!
nikki venable for a while there I was dEF too anxious to do much, but now I’m trying to give myself tasks to do each day to give myself some sort of a routine - and reading is always on it! 😊
Love!! Miss the Coop sooo much :)
My sister in law went to boston earlier this year and it looks so nice! I have never been but I would love to! It is so different than what I'm used to down her ein Forida.
The Bookish Mom it’s definitely a great place to visit! New England cities and towns definitely have their specific charms that u can’t find anywhere else
@@murakamireads I'm hoping to visit in the fall when all this chaos has passed
@@TheBookishMom I'm a mass local (western, but still visit cities) New England is totally worth the trip in fall! If it's open for tourists and you don't mind very busy places, I recommend you visit salem for the witchy fall vibes.
Thats so relaxing...now the bookstores are closed, at least hear...
Cláudia Correia ours are all shut down too - this was filmed literally 2 days before everything got locked down 😭
Why ☹
Why is this so cute 🥺 #OTP
Komi took me a few volumes to get into, but I loved Daytime straight away. It has a trope(?) that can make a lot of people uncomfortable, but it's one I like🤷♂️
Beccasawrus ooooh interesting to hear! I’ll be making a video trying a whole bunch of first volumes very soon so I’m hoping I love it!!
@@murakamireads oh yay! I love those types of videos :D
I'm really missing bookstores right now
lost in a booKCase hopefully this video helped!! 😭 stay strong
"Flights" is a very interesting book, can't wait to hear your opinion on it!
As for how to pronounce Tokarczuk's name, don't know if this will be helpful, but: it's To (as you said at the beginning) - kar (like car) - czuk (like Chuck)... Can't explain it better than that 😂
Hope you're both doing well 🙂 stay safe!
Roksana THANK YOU I would never have guessed “chuck” lol I always appreciate people helping me out with pronunciation ! 🤗
@@murakamireads you're welcome! Glad I could help. It's not how it's exactly pronounced in Polish, but it's close enough (in my opinion) 😁 I think that the most difficult part of her name is that "cz", which is pronounced as in Chuck, cherry or cheers 🙂
I've read Less, I'd say it's worth the read, but not one of my favourites.
Hi Kate! I love your videos, but I must admit that it's really disheartening to hear that you spent quite a long time in a bookstore you love without buying anything. My town is currently watching a 60 year old bookstore close because this thing happens a lot. Bookstores are often treated like libraries. It's awesome to make them community spaces, but it's also really important to support them in any way that we can to keep them here. Even a bookmark or a pin can help!
Kendall Wisniewski The Coop, the store we didn’t purchase anything from, is the Harvard university bookstore - the school charges their students $60k a year, they don’t need my $20 for a book 😂
I 100% agree with this when it comes to small independent bookstores though - which is why I bought books from the independently run, used bookstores we visited instead!
@@murakamireads Got it! Thanks for letting me know! (I'm from the midwest, I know nothing about the New England area)
Kendall Wisniewski Of course! Yeah I like to save my money to support smaller (usually used) bookstores. Barnes and Noble I only go to because there are next to no bookstores in New Hampshire where I currently live 😭😭 in mass tho (where I grew up and lived for 22 years) I know all the secrets spots and have found all the best indie stores to support 😋
@@murakamireads That's awesome! I don't know if you've ever used Libro.fm's bookstore link but it's a really cool resource for supporting indie stores online. I'm trying to spread the word about it, especially now that so many stores have had to close due to COVID-19
