Erica, I remember when I first got saved. Back then Kirk Franklin revolutionized gospel music. I listened to other songs but I really related to Kirk and R. Kelly's I believe I can fly. Years later after I had backslide someone introduced me to a CD mixed with gospel rap. At first I didn't listen because many of the Christian rap artist were whack. Yep, I said whack; telling my age and being real. But then I listened to that gospel rap CD. When I tell ya, Cross Movement, Flame, Canton Jones, Ziglag Boys, Lecrae ...them boys was on some other type of stuff....I'm talking about game changers. I remember God speaking to my spirit and telling me that I didn't have to change my music (I LUH rap/ hip hop). It was as if He was telling me that He ordained gospel rap. I leave you with this to keep in my mind my sista as the Lord has instructed me, Matthew 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and THEIR EARS ARE DULL OF HEARING, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them...I'm speaking in the prophetic, God bless you.
